  • 전압형 MMC HVDC 시스템은 다수의 서브모듈이 직렬로 구성되어 있으며, 서브모듈 내부의 고전압 반도체 소자는 수 kV로 스위칭 된다. 이때 발생하는 dV/dt에 의해 많은 고주파 성분의 과도노이즈가 전자파 방사 문제를 야기 시킨다. 본 논문에서는 HVDC 시스템의 전자파 노이즈 분석을 위해 1개의 서브모듈에 대한 측정 및 측정 결과를 바탕으로 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 모델링을 진행하였다.

  • A Static Induction Thyristor (SI-Thyristor) has a great potential as power semiconductor switch for pulsed power or high voltage applications with fast turn-on switching time and high switching stress endurance (di/dt, dV/dt). However, due to direct commutation between gate driver and SI-Thyristor, it is difficult to design optimal gate driver at the aspect of impedance matching for fast gate current driving into internal SI-Thyristor. Thus, to penetrate fast positive gate current into steady off state of the SI-Thyristor, it is proposed and proceeded the internal impedance calculation of the SI-Thyristor at steady off state with the gate driver while switching conditions that are indicated applied gate voltage, $V_{GK}$ and applied high voltage across anode and cathode, $V_{AK}$.

  • Deuterium-tritium reaction is the most promising one in term of the highest nuclear fusion cross-section for the reactor. So it is one of urgent issues to develop materials and components that are simultaneously resistant to high heat flux and high energy neutron flux in realization of the fusion energy. 2.45 MeV neutron production was reported in D-D reaction in KSTAR and regarded as beam-target is the dominant process. The feasibility study of KSTAR to wide area neutron source facility is done in term of D-D and D-T reactions from the empirical scaling law from the mixed fast and thermal stored energy and its projection to cases of heating power upgrade and DT reaction is done.

  • Two colour(B & V) photoelectric observations of EB-type eclipsing binary GO Cyg were carried out for 15 nights during October and December 1996. Three new times of minimum derived from our own observations are presented. With these and previously published times, the period variation is studied, and a continuous period increase of $dP/dt{\approx}1.51{\times}10^{-7}d/yr$ is estimated from the quadratic ephemeris.

  • In this paper we seek a positive, radially symmetric and energy minimizing solution of an m-Laplacian equation, -div$($\mid${\nabla}u$\mid$^{m-2}$\mid${\nabla}u)\;=\;h(u)$. In the variational sense, the solutions are the critical points of the associated functional called the energy, $J(v)\;=\;\frac{1}{m}\;\int_{R^N}\;$\mid${\nabla}v$\mid$^m\;-\;\int_{R^N}\;H(v)dx,\;where\;H(v)\;=\;{\int_0}^v\;h(t)dt$. A positive, radially symmetric critical point of J can be obtained by solving the constrained minimization problem; minimize{$\int_{R^N}$\mid${\nabla}u$\mid$^mdx$\mid$\;\int_{R^N}\;H(u)d;=\;1$}. Moreover, the solution minimizes J(v).

  • The spheroidization of cold rolled lamellar pearlite in annealing at the temperatures between 600 and $700^{\circ}C$ has been studied by quantitative micrography. It was foud that the spheroidization proceeded as two stageh. The first stage was the stage of relieving the stored energy by cold work, the second was the stage of reducing the interface energy between ferrite and cementite. The spheroidization rate combining the spheroidization rate of each stages is described by the following equation : $$d(1/S)/dt=k_3{\cdot}D/_{(1/s)}\{{\sigma}V/_{(1/s)}+k_4{\cdot}{\exp}(-bt)\}$$ Where, S is the total area of the interface between ferrite and cementite per unit volume, D is the diffusion coefficient, ${\sigma}$ is the boundary energy, V is the volume fraction of the cementite, and $k_3$, $k_4$, b are constants.

  • Light-triggered thyristors (LTTs) are essential components in high-power applications, such as HVDC transmission and several pulsed-power applications. Generally, LTT fabrication includes a deep diffusion of aluminum as a p-type dopant to form a uniform p-base region, which needs careful concern for contamination and additional facilities in silicon semiconductor manufacturing factories. We fabricated 4-inch 5,000 V LTTs with boron implantation and diffusion process as a p-type dopant. The LTT contains a main cathode region, edge termination designed with a variation of lateral doping, breakover diode, integrated resistor, photosensitive area, and dV/dt protection region. The doping concentration of each region was adjusted with different doses of boron ion implantation. The fabricated LTTs showed good light triggering characteristics for a light pulse of 905 nm and a blocking voltage (VDRM) of 6,500 V. They drove an average on-state current (ITAVM) of 2,270 A, peak nonrepetitive surge current (ITSM) of 61 kA, critical rate of rise of on-state current (di/dt) of 1,010 A/㎲, and limiting load integral (I2T) of 17 MA2s without damage to the device.

  • The design concept for 8kV light triggering thyristor(LTT) with integrated BOD was discussed here in detail. The trade-off between light triggering input source againsthigh dV/dt limitation has been treated via grooved P-base for gate design. The main application point used for high voltage DC transmission(HVDC) was represented.

Absorption of Water by Husked and Naked Barley (겉보리 및 쌀보리의 수화속도)

  • The hydration of water, at $20^{\circ}\;30^{\circ}$ and $40^{\circ}C$ for 10-360 minutes, by the two varieties of husked barley and of naked barley which were polished to 40 and 30%, respectively, was investigated. The absorption was directly proportional to the square root of the hydration time and accounted for by the diffusion equation: 1-M = $(2/{\sqrt\pi})\;(S/V){\sqrt{Dt}}$, where 1-M is the relative moisture gain and S/V is the surface-to-volume ratio. The average diffusion coefficient (D) was given by the Arrhenius relation: D = $D_{0}\;exp\;(-Ea/RT)$, where the activation energy for both husked and naked barley was about 7.2 Kcal/mole. The average value of D for naked barley was slightly higher than that for husked barley.

Cardiovascular Changes of Cat in Hypothermia (고양이에서 체표냉각에 따른 심혈관계 변동에 관한 연구)

  • Hypothermia is an essential preparatory procedure for cardiac surgery, which lows the metabolic rate and myocardial oxygen demand. However, hypothermia itself is a stress enough to change the tonus of sympathoadrenal system, especially the cardiovascular responses to the catecholamines. It is reported that the positive chronotropic and inotropic response of catecholamines is exaggerated during hypothermia because of decreased norepinephrine uptake at the junctional cleft or decreased catecholamine metabolism. On the other hand, there are evidences of diminished catecholamines responses in low temperature ana further, interconversion of adrenergic receptors is also suggested. Present investigation was planned to observe the cardiovascular changes and its responses to catecholamines during surface hypothermia in cat. Healthy mongrel cats, weighing $2{\sim}3\;kg$, anesthetized with secobarbital(30 mg/kg), were permitted to hypothermia by external cooling technic. Esophageal temperature, ECG (lead II), heart rate, left ventricular pressure with dP/dt, carotid artery pressure and left ventricular contractile force were monitored with Polygragh (Model 7, Grass), and the respiration was maintained with artificial respirator (V 5 KG, Narco). Followings are summarized results. 1) Surface cooling caused progressive decrease of body temperature and reached $l8.8{\pm}0.8^{\circ}C$ and $16.9{\pm}0.6^{\circ}C$ in 120 and 150 min respectively, after immersion into ice water, and ventricular fibrillation was developed at $20.4{\pm}0.65^{\circ}C$. 2) Heart rate, blood pressure and myocardial contractility were decreased after initial increase as the body temperature falls. 3) Systolic and diastolicdd P/dt of left ventricular pressure were decreased and that the decrement of diastolic dP/dt was more marked. 4) On ECG, ST depression, Twave inversion and prolongation of PR interval were prominent in hypothermia, and moreover, the prolongation of PR interval was marked just prior to the development of ventricular fibrillation. 5) The cardiovascular responses to catecholamines, especially to isoproterenol, were suppressed under hypothermia.
