In this study, the expressions of magnetic vector and magnetic gradient tensor due to an elliptical cylinder were derived. Igneous intrusions and kimberlite structures are often shaped like elliptical cylinders with axial symmetry and different radii in the strike and perpendicular directions. The expressions of magnetic fields due to this elliptical cylinder were derived from the Poisson relation, which includes the direction of magnetization in the gravity gradient tensor. The magnetic gradient tensor due to an elliptical cylinder is derived by differentiating the magnetic fields. This method involves obtaining a total of 10 triple derivative functions acquired by differentiating the gravitational potential of the elliptical cylinder three times in each axis direction. As the order of differentiation and integration can be exchanged, the magnetic gradient tensor was derived by differentiating the gravitational potential of the elliptical cylinder three times in each direction, followed by integration in the depth direction. The remaining double integration was converted to a complex line integral along the closed boundary curve of the elliptical cylinder in the complex plane. The expressions of the magnetic field and magnetic gradient tensor derived from the complex line integral in the complex plane were shown to be perfectly consistent with those of the circular cylinder derived by the Lipschitz-Hankel integral.
Calibration gas mixtures were prepared using dynamic volumetric method according to ISO 6145-5 and the uncertainty was evaluated. Ten identical capillaries with 0.25 mm in inner diameter and 50 cm in length were applied in this system. Dilution ratio of parent gas was determined by the number of capillaries that passes parent gas and that passes balance gas through. Capillaries were made of Teflon which had good chemical stability against adsorption of gaseous substances. Mechanical valves were introduced in this system in order to minimize the thermal effect of solenoid valves. Concentration of prepared gases were compared with master grade standard gases in cylinders made by RiGAS Co. and calibration of the instrument were completed using comparison method according to ISO 6143. Experimental results showed that the coefficient of variance of diluted oxygen standard gases showed less then 0.2% in most dilution range, that of diluted hydrogen sulfide standard gases showed less then 1.0%. Therefore, it is proven that the standard gases prepared by this system are appropriate to be used as a calibration standards in ambient monitoring, etc.

Improving the detection performance of facilities corresponding to the sensors of autonomous vehicles helps driving safety. In the road and transportation field, research is being conducted to improve the detection performance of sensors by road infrastructure or facilities. As part of this on the development of autonomous driving support infrastructure, the shape of traffic cones and drums to ensure sufficient LiDAR detection performance even rainy conditions and maintain the line-of-sight guidance function in construction zones improvement effect. The principle was to increase reflection performance and ensure no significant difference in shape from existing facilities. Traffic cones were manufactured in square pyramid shapes instead of cones, and drums were manufactured in hexagonal and octagonal pillar shapes instead of cylinders. LiDAR detection data for the facility was confirmed on a clear day and with 20 mm/h and 40 mm/h rainfall. The detection performance of the square pyramid-shaped traffic cone and octagonal column-shaped drum was to the existing facility. On the other hand, deviations occurred due to repeated measurements, and significance could not be confirmed through statistical analysis. By reflecting these results, future studies will seek a form in which data can be obtained uniformly despite the diversity of measurement environments.
In this study, expressions for the magnetic field and magnetic gradient tensor due to an elliptical disk were derived. Igneous intrusions and kimberlite structures often have elliptical cylinders with axial symmetry and elliptical cross sections. An elliptical cylinder with varying cross-sectional areas was approximated using stacks of elliptical disks. The magnetic fields of elliptical disks were derived using the Poisson relation, which includes the direction of magnetization in the gravity gradient tensor, as described in a previous study (Rim, 2024). The magnetic gradient tensor due to an elliptical disk is derived by differentiating the magnetic fields, which is equivalent to obtaining ten triple-derivative functions acquired by differentiating the gravitational potential of the elliptical disk three times in each axis direction. Because it is possible to exchange the order of differentiation, the magnetic gradient tensor is derived by differentiating the gravitational potential of the elliptical disk three times, which is then converted into a complex line integral along the closed boundary curve of the elliptical disk in the complex plane. The expressions for the magnetic field and magnetic gradient tensor derived from a complex line integral in complex plane are perfectly consistent with those of the circular disk derived from the Lipschitz-Hankel integral.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of hydrophilic primer, which claim to retain adequate bond strength on moistened enamel resulting from moisture or saliva contamination, by comparing the shear bond strength and adhesive failure patterns of brackets bonded using hydrophilic primer and conventional hydrophobic primer. Brackets were bonded to human premolars embedded in metal cylinders utilizing light cured adhesive, primed with either a hydrophilic primer(Transbond fm primer) or a conventional hydrophobic primer(Transbond XT primer). Each sample was exposed to varying degrees of artificial saliva contamination during the priming process. The shear bond strength was measured using a universal testing machine, and the adhesive failure patterns after debonding were visually examined by strereomicroscope and assessed using the adhesive remnant index(ARI). The results were as follows 1. In dry conditions, no significant differences in shear bond strength between Transbond W and Transbond XT primers were found. 2. Transbond MIP primer exhibited a significantly higher shear bond strength than Transbond XT primer in saliva-contaminated conditions, regardless of the degree of contamination. 3. When contaminated with one coat of saliva, Transbond MIP primer did not exhibit significant differences in shear bond strength compared to the dry condition. When contaminated with two coats of saliva, Transbond MIP primer exhibited a singnificantly lower shear bond strength compared to the dry condition. 4. The adhesive remnant index of the adhesive failure pattern had a tendency to decrease, as the degree of saliva contamination increased. Bracket-adhesive interface failure was observed in more than half of the saliva contaminated samples utilizing Transbond MIP primer, whereas the bond failure sites of the Transbond XT primer samples occurred almost exclusively at the adhesive-enamel interface in saliva-contaminated conditions. The results of this study suggest that in cases where moisture control is difficult, Transbond MIP primer is an effective alternative to conventional hydrophobic primers.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze temperature change along the implant-bone interface induced by grinding the occlusal surface of implant gold prosthesis and to compare the temperature generated by grinding of prosthesis with different cooling methods. Materials and methods: The experimental gold prostheses were fabricated with dental gold alloy and castable abutment. The prostheses had 3 cylindrical protrusions on the occlusal surface with 1mm in height. Temperature was measured using 16 thermocouple wires attached to the implant fixture surface and the fixture was embedded in an acrylic resin block inside the $37^{\circ}C$ water bath. Cylinders were grinded for a period of 30 second with a low-speed handpiece with green stone point. One cylindrical protrusion was grinded without cooling, the second one was grinded with air blow, and the third one was grinded with water-spray. Results: The mean maximum temperature was measured more than $47^{\circ}C$ of the implant and the maximum temperature was measured at the cervical portion of the implant in the group without cooling. There was statistically significant difference between the group without cooling and the groups with cooling (P<.05). However, there was no significant difference at all portion of implant in the groups with cooling (P>.05). Conclusion: The results of this study support that the grinding of implant gold prosthesis without cooling may damage the peri-implant tissue. The continuous use of air blow and water-spray adjacent to prosthesis during the grinding of implant gold prosthesis may prove to be beneficial for cooling of the implant.
To determine the optimum operating conditions of the indented cylinder length grader based on varietal characteristics, broken rice removal capabilities were measured on the milled rice of 41 varieties at different conditions consisted of 3 types of indented cylinders with different indent-opening diameters and 3 different collecting-angles of broken rice. The broken rice removal capabilities were swayed by the indent's opening diameter and depth as well as the angle of the collecting trough of broken rice on the point of instrument, and by the kernel length and width as well as 1000 grain weight of milled rice on the point of rice variety. When the angle of broken rice collecting-trough reached to near the horizontal center line of the indented cylinder on the direction of upward turning side, which was referred $0^{\circ}$ in this paper, the amount of rice collected in trough increased, whereas the loss of head rice also increased. Considering the removal rate of broken rice as well as loss of head rice, it was thought that the suitable angle of trough for broken rice collecting was located $5^{\circ}$ to $15^{\circ}$ depending on varietal characteristic and indent opening diameter. It was thought that 4.2 mm or more of indent opening diameter was recommendable for the rice varieties having heavier 1000 grain weight than 22.3g, as well as larger sizes than 2.9 and 5.2 mm in width and length of rice kernel, respectively; 3.8 mm for the small-sized thin kernels, and a proper diameter between 3.8 and 4.2 mm for short to middle kernels. The varieties with relatively shorter length compared to width of kernel were more difficult to separate the broken rice than the opposite ones. For effective separation of that, it seems that some specific indent shapes such as wider opening and shallow depth etc. are required. When the broken rice content were excessively high, wider diameters of indent openings than specified sizes were thought to be the better.

Purpose : Arm motion can give rise to striking cold artifact on PET/CT. We investigated that evaluation of scatter-limit correction and correct the patient arm motion artifact in Discovery 600 PET/CT. Materials and Methods : To evaluate a radioactivity uptake (Bq/ml) and a standard uptake value (SUV), the scatter limit correction and scatter correction were compared using 1994 NEMA Phantom$^{TM}$ in Discovery 600 PET/CT (GE Healthcare, Mi, We). Arm motion phantom study was involved a central 20 cm diameter cylinder simulating the neck and 2 peripheral 10 cm diameter cylinders simulating arms. The positions of the arms were altered so as to introduce different amounts of misalignment. The evaluation of arm motion phantom study used the radioactivity uptake and SUV in scatter correction and scatter limit correction. Results : The statistical significance of radioactivity uptake and SUV did not show the differences in comparisons of the scatter limit correction and the scatter correction that not show (p<0.05). Radioactivity uptake of the scatter correction was up to 3.1 kBq/ml in the 0.04 kBq/ml. It was approximately 98.7% undervalued in the arm motion phantom study. However, Radioactivity uptake of the scatter limit correction was up to 3.0 kBq/ml in the 2.11 kBq/ml. It was approximately 30% undervalued in arm motion phantom study. SUV of the scatter correction was 1.05 to 0.006 and underestimated about 98%. However, an applying SUV of the scatter limit correction changed the value as 0.67 which is underestimated about 25%. Radioactivity uptake and SUV of the scatter limit correction was increased approximately 60%, or more than the scatter correction. Conclusion : It is considered that if the patient arm motion artifact was occurred the scatter limit correction will be applicable to give an accurate diagnosis.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of applying Silano-pen to feldspathic porcelain and zirconia on shear bond strength with composite resin. Materials and methods: Feldspathic porcelain and zirconia specimens were produced into 30 per each 2 mm thick and 12 mm in diameter and their surface was made smooth and even and then embedded in acrylic resin. The specimens were divided into each Group F (Feldspathic porcelain) and Group Z (Zirconia), (1) Hydrofluoric acid etching and silane (F1 & Z1), (2) Silano-pen and silane (F2 & Z2), (3) Hydrofluoric acid etching and Silano-pen, silane (F3 & Z3). After surface conditioning, substrate surfaces of the specimen were examined by SEM. Composite resin cylinders (2 mm high, 3 mm in diameter)were bonded to specimen and shear bond strength between ceramic and composite resin was measured by using universal testing machine. The measured values were statistically analyzed by using two way ANOVA and Tukey's multiple comparison test (${\alpha}=.05$). Results: In the scanning electron micrograph of the treated ceramic surface, Group F2 and F3 appeared the high roughness and Group Z3 appeared the highest density of silica particle. In Feldspathic porcelain, the result of measuring shear bond strength showed that Group F3 was measured to be highest and Group F1 was measured to be lowest but there was no statistical significance among Groups. In zirconia, Group Z3 was measured to be highest and Group Z1 was measured to be lowest and there was statistical significance among Groups (P<.05). Conclusion: In zirconia, applying hydrofluoric acid etching and then Silano-pen and silane is effective for composite resin adhesion.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was a phantom study to measure the diffusion properties of water molecules by steady-state free precession diffusion-weighted imaging (SSFP- DWI) with a low b-value and to determine if this sequence might be useful for application to the evaluation of bone marrow pathology. Materials and methods : 1. The phantom study: A phantom study using two diffusion weighted sequences for the evaluation of the diffusion coefficient was performed. Three water-containing cylinders at different temperatures were designed: phantom A was $3^{\circ}C$, B was $23^{\circ}C$ and C was $63^{\circ}C$. Both SSFP and echo planar imaging (EPI) sequences (b-value: $1000s/mm^2$) were performed for comparison of the diffusion properties. The Signal to noise ratios (SNR) and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) values of the three phantoms using each diffusion-weighted sequence were assessed. 2. The Clinical study: SSFP-DWI was performed in 28 patients [sacral insufficiency fractures (10), osteoporotic lumbar compression fractures (10), malignant compression fractures (8)]. To measure the ADC maps, a diffusion-weighted single shot stimulated echo-acquisition mode sequence ($650s/mm^2$) was obtained using the same 1.5-T MR imager Results : For the phantom study, the signal intensity on the SSFP as well as the classic EPI-based DWI was decreased as the temperature increased in phantom A to C. The ADC values of the phantoms on EPI-DWI were $0.13{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$ in phantom A, $0.22{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$ in B and $0.37{\times}10^{-3}mm^2/s$. in C. The SSFP can be regarded as a DWI sequence in view of the series of signal decreases. Conclusion : Bone marrow pathologies with different diffusion coefficients were evaluated by SSFP-DWI. All benign fractures were hypointense compared to the adjacent normal bone marrow where as the malignant fractures were hyperintense compared to the adjacent normal bone marrow.
