  • This paper describes how to apply to commutate of thyristor efficiently. Thyristor is used for the high power system, as the research to secure domestic technology of the Current Source Inverter(CSI) for the synchronous motor operation which is used for the propulsion system of KTX. It has been composed to be available for the stable switching operation of the thyristor by supplementing problem of load commutation method, according to small Counter ElectricMotive Force(EMF) at low speed area of synchronous motor, via auxiliary commutation circuit using forced commutation method. We also have verified through the simulation using the Matlab.

  • The use of LCL filters in pulse width modulation voltage source converters is a standard solution for providing proper attenuation of high-order grid-current harmonics. However, these filters can cause the undesired effect of resonance. This paper proposes an active damping strategy with harmonics compensation. It can alleviate the harmonics around the resonance frequency caused by the LCL filters. The proposed strategy is attractive since it is simple, does not depend on grid parameters and does not increase the number of sensors. Simulation and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the proposed active damping strategy.

Output Voltage Regulation for Harmonic Compensation under Islanded Mode of Microgrid

  • This study examines a P+multi resonant-based voltage control for voltage harmonics compensation under the islanded mode of a microgrid. In islanded mode, the inverter is defined as a voltage source to supply the full local load demand without the connection to the grid. On the other hand, the output voltage waveform is distorted by the negative and zero sequence components and current harmonics due to the unbalanced and nonlinear loads. In this paper, the P+multi resonant controller is used to compensate for the voltage harmonics. The gain tuning method is assessed by the tendency analysis of the controller as the variation of gain. In addition, this study analyzes the slight voltage magnitude drop due to the practical form of the P+multi resonant and proposes a counter method to solve this problem by adding the PI-based voltage restoration method. The proposed P+multi resonant controller to compensate for the voltage harmonics is verified through the PSIM simulation and experimental results.

  • QZSI(Quasi Z-Source Inverter)를 이용한 유도전동기 제어 시스템은 암단락 상태를 제어에 이용할 수 있어서 추가 컨버터 없이도 단일 구조로 가변 배터리 전압을 일정하게 승압할 수 있다. 암단락을 이용한 승압은 직류단 전압제어가 보장되어야 하며 전압 제어기 성능이 인버터 출력 전류 제어에 상당한 영향을 미친다. 본 논문은 QZSI에서 직류 전압을 승압시키기 위한 암단락 시간을 효율적으로 제어하여 인덕터 전류 리플을 감소시키는 변형 공간벡터방식을 이용하여 유도 전동기를 제어하고 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 이를 검증한다.

  • This paper presents an intuitive and powerful way to study and design motor drive control. The control of induction motors, as most widely used machines, is discussed. Thanks to ultra low latency and high fidelity Hardware-in-the-Loop systems, different aspects of up-to-date drive regulation are examined. A power stage, comprised of a grid voltage source, a rectifier, a VSC inverter and an induction motor, is emulated on the HIL platform in real time. A digital signal controller is plugged into the interface board and connected to the HIL emulation platform, without any hardware modifications. For motor control and power electronics applications, a dedicated Texas Instruments TMS320F2808 DSP is chosen. The same controller can drive an emulation platform and a real device with no modifications. Current and speed control loop test results are presented and discussed.

  • The stand alone induction generator has been excited by capacitor bank or voltage source inverters. The conventional excitation methods offer several restrictions on the operation of the induction generator in various operating conditions. To overcome the restrictions, this paper presents the induction generator system excited by the current controlled inverter which operates on the principle of vector control. The proposed control scheme is based on the rotor flux oriented indirect vector control. The steady state characteristics are investigated to yield control ranges under various operating conditions. Through the simulation, it is confirmed that the system has good dynamic characteristics wi thin the controllable ranges given by the steady state analysis.

유도 전동기 단자전압 전류에 의한 속도계산 및 속도제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Speed Calculation and Speed Control Based on the Induction Motor Terminal Quantities)

  • The speed control system of induction motor without speed sensor is proposed in this paper. The speed of induction motor is calculated by motor terminal voltages and currents. The equations for speed calculation are derived and they are implemented on 16bit micro-processor Mc68000. The software and hardware for the Mc 68000 is developed. To prove the validity of the proposed method, the calculated speed is compared with the measured speed. The maximum speed error is nearly 1% in the overall range. The proposed speed calculation method is applied to the Current Source Inverter(CSI) fed induction motor drive system. The experimental results show the good dynamics and the resonable speed control accuracy.

  • The paper addresses modeling and analysis of a grid-connected photovoltaic generation system (PV system). PSCAD/EMIDC. an industry standard simulation tool for studying the transient behavior of electric power system and apparatus. is used to conduct all aspects of model implementation and to carry out extensive simulation study. An equivalent circuit model of a solar cell has been used for modeling solar array. A PWM voltage source inverter (VSI) and its current control scheme have been implemented. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is employed for drawing the maximum available energy from the PV array. Comprehensive simulation results are presented to examine PV array behaviors and PV system control performance in response to irradiation changes. In addition, dynamic responses of PV array and system to network fault conditions are simulated and analysed

  • Fuel cells power generating system converts the chemical energy of a fuel directly into electrical energy. The merits of fuel cells power generating system are pollution free and high energy conversion efficiency. Fuel cells power generating system includes the DC/AC converter. DC source obtained from stack is converted to the constant AC voltage or current by the inverter. In this paper, the power control techniques for the fuel cells power generating system are described.

  • In conventional sinusoidal wave PWM control, torque oscillation is a problem on account of harmonic component. This paper deals with the choice of line-to-line voltage modulation method, which is effective in using DC(direct current) source voltage and in controlling harmonic oscillation, and the pattern to reduce swiching loss through 1/3 pause of switching interral. So, this paper deals with valid realization of harmonic component and high torque response on variable load by simulation and experiments to compensate occurring problems when line-to-line modulation are applied to PWM inverter.
