We have designed and fabricated a four-bit shift register circuit using YBCO bicrystal junctions and experimentally tested its operations by a computer-controlled digital measurement set-up. Laser ablated YBCO thin films with clean surface were used in this work. The circuit consists of the shift register and two read SQUIDs placed next to each sides of the shift register. The SQUIDs were inductively coupled to the nearby shift register stages. A probe equipped with high speed coax lines were used in this experiment. The major obstacle in testing the circuit was the interference between the read SQUIDs and we solved the problem by finding the correct operation points of the SQUIDs from the simultaneously measured modulation curves. Loaded Data("1" or "0") were successfully shifted from a stage to the next one by a controlled current pulse injected to the bias lines located between the stages and the data shifts were correctly monitored by the read SQUIDs
Metal-ferroelectric-semiconductor(MFS) capacitors by using rapid thermal annealed $LiNbO_3$/Si structures were successfully fabricated and demonstrated nonvolatile memory operations of the MFS capacitors. The C-V characteristics of MFS capacitors showed a hysteresis loop due to the ferroelectric nature of the $LiNbO_3$thin film. The dielectric constant of the $LiNbO_3$film calculated from the capacitance in the accumulation region in the capacitance-voltage(C-V) curve was about 25. The gate leakage current density of MFS capacitor using a platinum electrode showed the least value of $1{\times}10^{-8}\textrm{A/cm}^2$ order at the electric field of 500 kV/cm. The minimum interface trap density around midgap was estimated to be about $10^{11}/cm^2$.eV. The typical measured remnant polarization(2Pr) value was about 1.2 $\mu\textrm{C/cm}^2$, in an applied electric field of $\pm$ 300 kv/cm. The ferroelectric capacitors showed no polarization degradation up to about $10^{10}$ switching cycles when subjected to symmetric bipolar voltage pulse in the 500 kHz.

The photovoltaic system changes solar energy into DC by solar cell and this DC is inverted into AC which is used in general houses by inverter. Recently, the use of power of the photovoltaic system is increased. Therefore, the study of 3 phase solar system to transmit large power is very important. This paper proposes a method that finds simply faults and diagnoses the switch open faults of 3-phase pulse width modulation (PWM) inverter of grid-connected photovoltaic system. The proposed method in $\alpha\beta$ plane uses the patterns of trajectory image as the characteristic parameters and differenciates a normal state and open states of switches. Then, the result is made into tree. The tree is composed of 21 fault patterns and the parameters to classify faults are a shape, a trajectory area, a distributed angle, and a typical vector angle. The result shows that the proposed method diagnosed fault diagnoses, classified correctly them, and made a pattern tree by fault patterns.

The field effect transistors (FETs) were fabricated ell $Y_2O_3/Si(100)$ substrates by the conventional memory processes and sol-gel process using $(Bi,La)Ti_3O_{12}(BLT)$ ferroelectric gate materials. The remnant polarization ($2Pr = Pr^+-Pr^-$) int Pt/BLT/Pt/Si capacitors increased from $22 {\mu}C/cm^2$ to $30{\mu}C/ cm^2$ at 5V as the annealing temperature increased from $700^{\circ}C$ to $750^{\circ}C$. There was no drastic degradation in the polarization values after applying the retention read pulse for $10^{5.5}$ seconds. The capacitance-voltage data of $Pt/BLT/Y_2O_3/Si$ capacitors at 5V input voltage showed that the memory window voltage decreased from 1.4V to 0.6V as the annealing temperature increased from $700^{\circ}C$ to $750^{\circ}C$. The leakage current of the $Pt/BLT/Y_2O_3/Si$ capacitors annealed at $750^{\circ}C$ was about $510^{-8}A/cm^2$ at 5V. From the drain currents versus gate voltages ($V_G$) for $Pt/BLT/Y_2O_3/Si(100)$ FET devices, the memory window voltages increased from 0.3V to 0.8V with increasing tile $V_G$ from 3V to 5V.
Poly-ethylenedioxypyrrole (PEDOP) coated thiolated multiwall carbon nanotubes palladium nanoparticles (MWCNTs-Pd) modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) [PEDOP/MWCNTs-Pd/GCE] for the determination of hydroquinone (HQ) and it’s isomer catechol (CA) were synthesized and compared with bare GCE and thiolated multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs-SH/GCE). The modification could be made by simple processes on a GCE with MWCNTs-Pd covered by PEDOP in a 0.05 M tetrabutylammonium perchlorate (TBAP)/MeCN solution system. A well-defined peak potential evaluation of the oxidation of hydroquinone to quinone at 0.05 V (vs. Ag/AgCl), and electrochemical reduction back to hydroquinone were found by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) at pH 7.4. Peak current values increased linearly with increasing hydroquinone contents. The peak separation between the anodic and cathodic peaks at the PEDOP/MWCNTs-Pd/GCE was ${\Delta}Ep$ = 40 mV for HQ and ${\Delta}Ep$ = 70 mV for CA, resulting in a higher electron transfer rate. Moreover, good reproducibility, excellent storage stability, a wide linear range (0.1 ${\mu}M$ - 5 mM for HQ and 0.01 ${\mu}M$ - 6 mM for CA), and low detection limits ($2.9{\times}10^{-8}$ M for HQ and $2.6{\times}10^{-8}$ M for CA; S/N = 3) were determined using differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and amperometric responses; this makes it a promising candidate as a sensor for determination of HQ and CA.

In this paper, driver circuit of LED lights for ships is designed and implemented to replace conventional lights with filament which have short life time due to vibration of ships. The driver of LED module is switching circuit without transformer to reduce volume and cost. As switch circuit controls input 220 VAC with PWM, LED module is reliably driven. Power factor is improved by using valley-fill PFC compensation circuit which is handled to pulse current of switching circuit. Serial-parallel LED circuit is applied to reduce change period of lights of long-term navigation ships. Array of serial-parallel can operate even if some of LEDs is damaged. It is suitable for ships that power consumption and power factor of lights including developed drive circuit have 39Watt and 0.925 respectively.

Strapdown Inertial navigation systems consist of an inertial sensor assembly(ISA), electronic modules to process sensor data, and a navigation computer to calculate attitude, velocity and position. In the ISA, most gryoscopes such as RLGs and FOGs, have digital output, but typical accelerometers use current as an analog output. For a high precision inertial navigation system, sufficient stability and resolution of the accelerometer board converting the analog accelerometer output into digital data needs to be guaranteed. To achieve this precision, the asymmetric error and A/D reset scale error of the accelerometer board must be properly compensated. If the relation between the acceleration error and the errors of boards are exactly known, the compensation and estimation techniques for the errors may be well developed. However, the A/D Reset scale error consists of a pulse-train type term with a period inversely proportional to an input acceleration additional to a proportional term, which makes it difficult to estimate. In this paper, the effects on the acceleration output for auto-pilot situations and the effects of A/D reset scale errors during horizontal alignment are qualitatively analyzed. The result can be applied to the development of the real-time compensation technique for A/D reset scale error and the derivation of the design parameters for accelerometer board.

The relationship between driving voltage and the amount of wall charge in the address period of surface discharge type AC Plasma Display Panel has been investigated. The amount of wall charge on each electrode is obtained simultaneously from the current profiles after applying only one addressing discharge pulse. The wall charge $Q_y$ on the scan electrode Y is almost the sum of $Q_x$ on the address electrode X and $Q_z$ on the sustain electrode Z. The $Q_y$ increased with the driving voltage regardless of the kind of electrode, whereas the addressing $T_d$ decreased. The $Q_x$ and $Q_y$ are increased considerably by blocking voltage $V_z$, whereas $Q_x$ is decreased. The $V_z$ dependence of $Q_x$$Q_y$ and ${\varrho}_z$ in addressing discharge was $-13{\times}10^{-2}$ (pc/$V_z$), and $60{\times}10^{-2}$ ($pc/V_z$) and $70{\times}10^{-2}(pc/V_z)$, respectively.

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have long been reported as an ideal material due to their excellent electrical conductivity and chemical and mechanical stability as well as their high aspect ratios for field emission devices. CNT emitters made by screen printing the organic binder-based CNT paste may act as a source to release gases inside a vacuum panel. These residual gases may cause a catastrophic damage by electrical arcing or ion bombardment to the vacuum microelectronic devices and may change their physical or electrical properties by adsorbing on the CNT emitter surface. In this study, we analyzed the composition of residual gases inside the vacuum-sealed panel by residual gas analyzer (RGA), investigating the effects of individual gases of different kinds at several pressures on the field emission characteristics of CNT emitters. The residual gases included $H_2$, CO, $CO_2$, $N_2$, $CH_4$, $H_2O$, $C_2H_6$, and Ar. Effect of residual gases on the field emission was studied by observing the variation of the pulse voltages with the duty ratio of3.3% to keep the constant emission current of $28{\mu}A$. Each gas species was introduced to a vacuum chamber up to three different pressures ($5\times10^{-7}$, $5\times10^{-6}$, and $5\times10^{-5}$ torr) each for 1 h while electron emission was continued. The three different pressure regions were separated by keeping a high vacuum of $\sim10^{-8}$ torr for a 1 h. The emission was terminated 6 h after the third gas exposure was completed. Field emission characteristics under residual gases will be discussed in terms of their adsorption and desorption on the surface of CNTs and the resultant change of work function.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify the needs of bio-signal devices for the diagnosis, assessment, and analysis of neurocognitive disorder in Korean medicine (KM) hospitals and clinics. Methods: A questionnaire was developed to survey the current status of medical device use, and diagnosis and interventions for patients with cognitive disorders in KM hospitals and clinics. November 11~December 2, 2019, 114 responses (71.9% completed) were collected by internet-based questionnaires from the members of the Korean society of Oriental Neuropsychiatry. Results: The clinical requests were in the descending order of hematology analyzer, ultrasound imaging system, and electroencephalography among the 15 most commonly used devices of which research would support for their clinical usability. The biosignal-based devices showed the highest research demands for patients with mild cognitive impairment rather than more severe stages of cognitive impairment. Prevention rather than diagnosis, or several treatment regimens was the strongest clinical area of the KM for patients with neurodegenerative cognitive impairment. Many responded that five to 10 minutes of test duration and 20,000 won to 30,000 won of cost would be appropriated for a new device to be developed. Conclusions: There were strong demands for the development of bio-signal devices for neurocognitive disorders among the KM doctors. Specifically, it showed high needs for the technology that can be used in the prevention area of cognitive disorders. Additionally, new medical devices to assess cognitive functions and to obtain KM pattern-related information were the high needs.
