전기 자동차 배터리 충전장치용 3상 3스위치 전류형 정류기의 전류 왜곡 감소를 위한 펄스 폭 변조 스위칭 기법 (Reduced Current Distortion of Three-Phase Three-Switch Buck-Type Rectifier using Carrier Based PWM in EV Traction Battery Charging Systems)

  • This study investigates an economic and highly efficient power-converter topology and its modulation scheme for 60 kW rapid EV charger system. The target system is a three-phase three-switch buck-type rectifier topology. A new carrier-based PWM scheme, which is characterized by simple implementation using logic gates, is introduced in this paper. This PWM scheme replaces the diode rectifier equivalent switching state with an active switching state to produce the same effective current flowing path. As a result, the distortion of input current during the polarity reversal of capacitor line voltage can be mitigated. The proposed modulation technique is confirmed through simulation verification. The proposed modulation technique and its implementation scheme can expand the operation range of the three-phase three-switch buck-type rectifier with high-quality AC input and capacitor ripple current.

  • PRAM (Phase change random access memory) is one of the most promising candidates for next generation non-volatile memories. However, the high reset current is one major obstacle to develop a high density PRAM. One way of the reset current reduction is to change the heater electrode material. In this paper, to reduce the reset current for phase transition, we have investigated the effect of heater electrode material parameters using finite element analysis. From the simulation. the reset current of PRAM cell is reduced from 2.0 mA to 0.72 mA as the electrical conductivity of heater is decreased from $1.0{\times}10^6\;(1/{\Omega}{\cdot}m$) to $1.0{\times}10^4\;(1/{\Omega}{\cdot}m$). As the thermal conductivity of heater is decreased, the reset current is slightly reduced. But the reset current of PRAM cell is not changed as the specific heat of heater is changed.

  • Vacuum circuit breakers(VCB) are widely used for current interruption of high-voltage inductive loads such as induction motors. This VCB can be chopped off before the current zero due to its high arc-extinguishing capability. One of the outstanding features of VCB is that it can cut off high frequency re-ignition current more than other circuit breakers. If the transient recovery voltage generated in the arc extinguishing is higher than the dielectric strength of the circuit breaker, a re-ignition phenomenon occurs. The surge voltage of the re-ignition is very high in magnitude and the steepness of the waveform is so severe that it can act as a high electrical stress on the winding. If the high frequency current of one phase affects the other two phases when the re-ignition occurs, it may cause a high surge voltage due to the virtual current chopping. If the magnitude of the voltage allowed in the motor winding is high or the waveform level is too severe, it may lead to insulation breakdown. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce the voltage to within a certain range. In this study, we briefly explain the various phenomena at the time of interruption, analyzed the magnitude of the dielectric strength and the transient recovery voltage at the simultaneous three-phase interruption that can give the greatest influence to the inductive load, proposed a method to reduce the impact.

순환전류 감소를 위한 새로운 정류회로를 갖는 위상천이 풀브리지 컨버터 (A Phase-Shifted Full-Bridge Converter With a New Rectifier Circuit for Reducing Circuiting Current)

  • This research proposes a new rectifier circuit to reduce the circulating current of a phase-shifted full bridge converter. The proposed circuit is a structure in which the output inductor of the secondary rectifier circuit is changed to a coupled inductor in the phase-shifted full bridge with the existing center-tapped rectifier. The parts are rearranged after adding a diode. After applying the proposed circuit, the circulating current to the primary current of the transformer and the voltage stress of the rectifier diode on the secondary side of the transformer are reduced. Accordingly, the snubber loss of the rectifier is improved. By reducing the circulating current and snubber loss, the circuit achieves higher efficiency than conventional circuits. In this research, we present the structure of the proposed circuit, its strengths, and the analysis results from experiments. Furthermore, its effectiveness is verified through the experimental results of a prototype converter with an input of 300-400 V and an output of 50 V/1 kW.

3상 직렬공진형 고전압 커패시터 충전기의 해석 및 설계 (Analysis and Design of a 3-phase Series-Resonant type High Voltage Capacitor Charger)

  • This paper suggests a 3-phase series-resonant type high voltage capacitor charger for an EML pulsed power system. The operating principle on the charger is explained by an equivalent circuit. Additionally, we analyze the charging characteristic in one discontinuous conduction mode and three continuous conduction modes. The analysis shows that the resonant current per phase is two thirds of the 3-phase charger's average charging current and one third of the single-phase charger's average charging current with the same capacity. We suggest a design method of the 3-phase capacitor charger in each operational mode and present an example of 3.5 kW capacitor charger at ${\omega}_s=0.33{\omega}_r$. The 3.5 kW 3-phase capacitor charger prototype is assembled with a TI28335 controller and a 40 kJ, 7 kV capacitor. The design rules based on the analysis are verified by experiment.

Yg-Yg 3상 내철형 변압기의 영상분 임피던스 분석 (Zero Sequence Impedance of Yg-Yg Three Phase Core Type Transformer)

  • In this paper, zero sequence equivalent circuit of Yg-Yg three phase core-type transformer is analyzed. Many problems by iron core structure of the three phase transformer due to asymmetric three phase lines, which includes line disconnection, ground fault, COS OFF, and unbalanced load are reported in the distribution system. To verify a feasibility of zero sequence impedance of Yg-Yg type three phase transformer, fault current generation in the three phase core and shell-type Yg-Yg transformer is compared by PSCAD/EMTDC when single line ground fault is occurred. As a result, shell-type transformer does not affect the flow of fault current, but core-type transformer generate an adverse effect by the zero sequence impedance. The adverse effect is explained by the zero sequence equivalent circuit of core-type transformer and Yg-Yg type three phase core-type transformer supplies a zero sequence fault current to the distribution system.

  • 히스테리시스 전류 제어방식은 원리와 구조가 간단하여 널리 사용되었으나, 전류 오차 허용 밴드폭이 너무 작거나, 전원 전압이 상대적으로 너무 큰 경우 등에는 스위칭 주파수가 급격히 증가하여 많은 열을 발생할 수 있는 등의 단점이 있었다. 이에 본 연구에서는 단상 전류제어에서 0 모드를 추가하고, 기준 전류의 기울기를 비교하여 히스테리시스 전류 제어를 수행함으로써 대폭적인 스위칭 주파수 감소와 안정적인 전류제어가 가능하게 하였다. 또한 이를 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 통해 그 타당성을 확인하였다.

Hole 구조 상변화 메모리의 전기 및 열 특성 (Electro-Thermal Characteristics of Hole-type Phase Change Memory)

  • In this paper, we have manufactured hole type PRAM unit cell using phase change material $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$. The phase change material $Ge_2Sb_2Te_5$ was deposited on hole of 500 nm size using sputtering method. Reset current of PRAM unit cell was confirmed by measuring R-V characteristic curve. Reset current of manufactured hole type PRAM unit cell is 15 mA, 100 ns. And electro and thermal characteristics of hole type PRAM unit cell were analyzed by 3-D finite element analysis. From simulation temperature of PRAM unit cell was $705^{\circ}C$.

  • Most faults are single-phase-to-ground fault in ungrounded system. The fault currents of single-phase-to-ground are much smaller than detection thresholds of measurement devices, so detecting single-phase-to-ground faults is difficult and important in ungrounded system. The protection coordination method using SGR(Selective Ground Relay) and OVGR(Overvoltage Ground Relay) is generally used in ungrounded system. But this method only detects fault line and it has the possibility of malfunction. This paper proposed to advanced protection coordination method in ungrounded system. The method just using zero-sequence current can detect fault line, fault phase, fault section at terminal device. The general protection method is used to back up protection. In the case study, the proposed method has been testified in demo system by Matlab/Simulink simulations.

연료전지 철도차량 적용을 위한 인터리브드 다상 승압형 컨버터 제어 (The control of Interleaved Multi-phase Boost Converter for Application of a Fuelcell Railway Vehicle)

  • Fuel cell power generation system, unlike conventional energy sources, converts chemical energy into electrical energy through electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. This paper presents the control of interleaved multi-phase boost converter as the feasibility study on small-scale prototype electric railway vehicle application using fuel cell generation system. PSIM simulation program is to be used to implement the modeling of the electrical fuelcell as well as traction motor control with interleaved multi-phase boost converter. Comparing the input current ripple rate, two-phase interleaved boost converter is less than the boost converter. But the more multi-phase not less proportional to the ripple factor. we confirmed that the amplitude of the input current ripple rate of converter depend on duty ratio.
