Although the demand and awareness of public regarding social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas would increase recently, the sustainability of them has continuously decreased. To derive policy directions for improvements of social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas, This study analyzed willingness to pay for social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas and its determinants by uisng contigent valuation method. The results show that the willingness to pay for social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas is positively affected by awareness of the importance of agriculture, interest in problems regarding agriculture in Korea, awareness of social functions of agriculture, and experience in rural life. These results would imply that policies for the improvement of public awareness and experiences increase the value of social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas. In addition, the results imply that more diverse education programs and activities are required in order to change awareness of future generations in response to decreases in population having experiences in agriculture and rural life due to urbanization. Lastly, the results show that the average willingness to pay for social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas is about 35,600 won, and total willingness to pay for social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas is about 998.3 billion won. This is much larger than the government budget on enhancement of social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas in 2019. This difference between government budget and the total willingness to pay implies that Korean government would be required more positive policies to maintain and enhance social-cultural functions of agriculture and rural areas.

Cultural property means the remains of cultural activities of a race as recognized with significant cultural value that would have significant historic and/or artistic value. This type of cultural property would not be restored once damaged that its preservation and succession would be immensely important. In particular, the intangible cultural property is the 'cultural property without certain shape' that appropriate conservation and facilitation suitable to its characteristics have to be materialized. For this purpose, this study has taken a look of the record status for 16 cities and provinces with the designated intangible cultural properties and presented with the efficient record plan for desirable conservation and succession.
As luxury goods market has expanded and has become more affordable, luxury consumption value has become more diversified. The purpose of this study is to classify visible characteristics of luxury consumption by the degree of logo clarity, and to explain this classification in relation to personal luxury consumption values. Also, the study utilized the concept of cultural capital, in addition to the concept of economic capital, in order to aid understanding of current new luxury consumption trend and give directions on brand signal strategies for luxury brands. In order to develop a survey that could measure an individual's cultural capital, focus group interviews, each composed of 5 women in their twenties and thirties, were conducted. Then, the survey was conducted on 230 females residing in Seoul who have purchased at least one product from a luxury brand within a year. The results suggest that luxury consumption can be explained by 'self-oriented value' and 'others-oriented value' as suggested in precedent studies. However, no significant difference was found between economic capital and these two luxury consumption values. However, the more cultural capital one possesses, the more one is likely to pursue 'self-oriented consumption value'. In studying the correlation between luxury consumption values and preference for brand signal clarity, respondents with 'self-oriented consumption value' has shown low preference towards highly visible brand logo when design and quality were equivalent. Also, respondents with 'other-oriented consumption value' has shown high preference towards highly visible brand logo.
The study mainly aims to explore and compare the cultural value orientations of Southeast Asian countries with concrete index of variable factors, and ultimately seeks for directions for Korea better role as a leading country in Southeast Asian economic region. The research limits the scope of the study only to three countries of the Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand. It is due to the significant differences of geography, language, and above all unique religion in Southeast Asia region, The Philippines, Indonesia and Thailand are very much similar in many aspects of diverse ethnicity, diverse religion, especially in the aspect of culture. However, it is no doubt, among countries surveyed, that the research show the differences in continuum level in terms of value orientations. Generally it might be due to the history, religion and language differences.

This paper was to examine the existing foundation of cultural contents industry through analyzing the development process, the location pattern, and the value chain system and the management of cultural contents industry in Daegu. Most cultural contents industry in Daegu had less than ten employees: so, it was classified into the early stage of commercialization. The firms that dealt with on-line distribution were recently founded. The high portion of the finns was located in the center of city such as Jung-Gu and Nam-Gu in which the Center for Digital Industry Promotion of Daegu (DIP) is located. The value main system consisted of four nodes such as creation node, production node, marketing node and distribution node. The production node was played the most important role. Based on value chain system, the cultural contents industry firms in Daegu could be divided into four types: Type I is a contents production firm with a single value chain in the cultural contents industry. Type IV is a non contents production firm with multiple value chains.
In an information-oriented and internationalized society of the future, the quality and the price of goods made by each country will be equalized. That eliminates competition. But the design and appearance of products is an important factor in international competition. Indeed, design symbolizes a country's culture visually, and it can show the cultural identity and originality of a nation in international society. And that will play an important part that can contribute to creating added value. It is necessary to revive our people's old lyrical stories which are far away from our memory, and we badly need design development to revive traditional cultural merchandise through visual modernization. In this study, I chose lotus as the subject material of textile design development. And my intention for this study is to reflect Korean traditional cultural value as much as I can, and to develop textile design of Korean images by adding modern scenes. Also, I intend to print them on fabric, and apply them to cultural merchandise including scarves and ties, by using digital textile printing systems. The reasons for doing so, are to create high added value, and to let other peoples of the world, know about our excellent culture.

Records related to a certain cultural heritage are concrete evidence that prove the value of the cultural heritage and become a criterion for long-term preservation of its records. The value of the records is as important as cultural heritage value. In the case of specific cultural heritage with national or socially important values, various studies are conducted on cultural heritage as one theme, and various programs about cultural heritage are developed. However, it is difficult to grasp the scope, record types, and contents of the records because they have been distributed and managed in many institutes. They also appear in various forms. As a solution to these problems, this study collected records of a major cultural heritage with social and historical values such as Hwangnyongsa from 11 public institutions and web services and analyzed the types of records, activities related to the records, and metadata. Through data analysis, an ontology that can understand the range and relationship of the entire record was suggested so that the record can be understood with a focus on specific cultural heritage.
In order to establish the procedures for investigating environmental influences to wooden cultural property, existing study data were surveyed and necessary steps for performing the investigation works were presented to be applied for the future works in this country. Environmental factors which influence to the conservation of wooden cultural property should first be studied for items concerned with their damage situations. On basis of these data, laboratory works to yield the standard value for each factor should be conducted by means of testing samples exposed under laboratory simulated environmental conditions. Outdoor measurements may be followed for samples exposed to the open air at the site of that property. These data may be compared with those of laboratory standard value and overall evaluation for the factor influencing mostly tn the damage status of that property may further be conducted. Referring data obtained in this investigation, necessary measures to be taken for conserving that property may be able to be established.
