In general, the precast columns can obtain its homogeneous quality as they are produced in a factory with a hollow concrete block type by using high strength concrete, so that they can generate the reduction of dead load. Such a method of precast hollow concrete columns is already implemented in USA and Japan and used for connecting between blocks which use PC tendons. However, it is inevitable to have uneconomical construction with excessive cost in early stage when PC tendons are used. This study aims to develop an economical precast column with high quality and constructability which consists of only splice sleeve and general reinforcing bar without using PC tendons in order to reduce the construction period and cost. To achieve this goal, this study tested the performance of total 5 minimized models in the experiment with the variables such as hollowness, diameter of main reinforcement bar and cross-sectional size for the cross section of precast column by using grouting type splice sleeve which is a new type joint rebar. And it also verified the performance of column in the experiment for a large-sized model in order to overview its applicability by excluding large scale effect.
In this study, the variation of the shrinkage in the thickness direction of the molded parts according to the gate size of the polymer core fabricated through the 3D printer using the SLS method was studied. The polymer cores are laser sintered and the powder material is nylon base PA2200. The polymer cores have lower heat transfer rate and rigidity than the metal core due to the characteristics of the material. Therefore, the injection molding test conditions are set to minimize the deformation of the core during the injection process. The resin used in the injection molding test is a PP material. The packing condition was set to 80, 90 and 100% of the maximum injection pressure for each gate size. The runner diameter used was ∅3mm, and the gates were fabricated in semicircle shapes with cross sections 1, 2, and 3 ㎟, respectively. Thickness measurement was performed for 10 points at 2.5 mm intervals from the point 2.5 mm away from the gate, and the shrinkage to thickness was measured for each point. The shrinkage rate according to the gate size tends to decrease as the cross-sectional area decreases as the maximum injection pressure increases. The average thickness shrinkage rate was close to 0% when the packing pressure was 90% for the gate area of 1mm2. When the holding pressure was set to 100%, the shrinkage was found to decrease by 3% from the standard dimension due to the over-packing phenomenon. Therefore, the smaller the gate, the more closely the molded dimensions can be molded due to the high pressure generation. It was confirmed that precise packing process control is necessary because over-packing phenomenon may occur.

As heavy rains occur more frequently due to the recent climate change, slope collapses are increasing, and damage to human life and properties is accordingly increasing every year. The most proper method to take preventive measures against slope collapses is to remove the cause after understanding the cause of slope collapse in advance, and for such, slope safety inspection is implemented for preventive purposes, to investigate the cause, and as a measure for restoration. Thus, this Research was able to reach the following conclusion after utilizing LiDAR, which obtains detailed topographic information in a short period of time with point cloud data on slopes subject to safety inspection. First, as a result of analyzing the errors after installing a check point in the subject area, the RMSE of the horizontal location error appeared to be ${\pm}2.2cm$ and the RMSE of the vertical location error appeared to be ${\pm}3.0cm$, which shows a practically satisfactory result. Second, the economic feasibility was outstanding and obtaining accurate topographic information was available. Third, an area once scanned allowed to accurately obtain an unprescribed cross-sectional diagram in a short period of time, thus, appeared to be convenient for experts to detect dangerous sections.

The most important industrial application of gamma radiation in characterizing green compacts is the determination of the density. Examples are given where this method is applied in manufacturing technical components in powder metallurgy. The requirements imposed by modern quality management systems and operation by the workforce in industrial production are described. The accuracy of measurement achieved with this method is demonstrated and a comparison is given with other test methods to measure the density. The advantages and limitations of gamma ray densitometry are outlined. The gamma ray densitometer measures the attenuation of gamma radiation penetrating the test parts (Fig. 1). As the capability of compacts to absorb this type of radiation depends on their density, the attenuation of gamma radiation can serve as a measure of the density. The volume of the part being tested is defined by the size of the aperture screeniing out the radiation. It is a channel with the cross section of the aperture whose length is the height of the test part. The intensity of the radiation identified by the detector is the quantity used to determine the material density. Gamma ray densitometry can equally be performed on green compacts as well as on sintered components. Neither special preparation of test parts nor skilled personnel is required to perform the measurement; neither liquids nor other harmful substances are involved. When parts are exhibiting local density variations, which is normally the case in powder compaction, sectional densities can be determined in different parts of the sample without cutting it into pieces. The test is non-destructive, i.e. the parts can still be used after the measurement and do not have to be scrapped. The measurement is controlled by a special PC based software. All results are available for further processing by in-house quality documentation and supervision of measurements. Tool setting for multi-level components can be much improved by using this test method. When a densitometer is installed on the press shop floor, it can be operated by the tool setter himself. Then he can return to the press and immediately implement the corrections. Transfer of sample parts to the lab for density testing can be eliminated and results for the correction of tool settings are more readily available. This helps to reduce the time required for tool setting and clearly improves the productivity of powder presses. The range of materials where this method can be successfully applied covers almost the entire periodic system of the elements. It reaches from the light elements such as graphite via light metals (AI, Mg, Li, Ti) and their alloys, ceramics ($AI_20_3$, SiC, Si_3N_4, $Zr0_2$, ...), magnetic materials (hard and soft ferrites, AlNiCo, Nd-Fe-B, ...), metals including iron and alloy steels, Cu, Ni and Co based alloys to refractory and heavy metals (W, Mo, ...) as well as hardmetals. The gamma radiation required for the measurement is generated by radioactive sources which are produced by nuclear technology. These nuclear materials are safely encapsulated in stainless steel capsules so that no radioactive material can escape from the protective shielding container. The gamma ray densitometer is subject to the strict regulations for the use of radioactive materials. The radiation shield is so effective that there is no elevation of the natural radiation level outside the instrument. Personal dosimetry by the operating personnel is not required. Even in case of malfunction, loss of power and incorrect operation, the escape of gamma radiation from the instrument is positively prevented.

In this study, as the production of high-strength steel pipes due to the development of steel materials, the stability and applicability of the soil nailing method using high-strength steel pipes were evaluated. Rebars used as reinforcement in the soil nailing method are the same in order to determine the behavioral characteristics and the effect of increasing the reinforcement when replacing it with a high-strength steel pipe of a diameter, a field test were conducted to confirm the stability. As a result of the tensile test, the measured strain is smaller than the strain in the theoretical equation, so it can be seen that the behavior is similar to that of the soil nailing method using rebars. As a result of the displacement measurement, the displacement of the high-strength steel pipe is larger than that of the rebars is considered to be the effect of the internal grouting effect of the steel pipe and the decrease in the cross-sectional area. In the case of using high-strength steel pipes for the soil nailing method, it is judged that the field applicability is good by improving stability and workability through member performance and weight reduction.
The primary purpose of this study was to develop performance evaluation indices for measuring the results of the work and performance of the career exploration support centers. For the study, First, to describe the current status of the management system across the 228 centers, examine the staff's perceptions of the current evaluation method and system of each center, and analyze the needs of measuring indices of each center for its performance evaluation, a cross-sectional survey method was employed. Second, relevant literature was reviewed. Next, measurement indices were developed employing the Delphi method with a panel of 15 experts in developing instruments of accomplishment. Based upon the conclusion of this study, The measurement indices developed in this study focuses on the core measurement indices. These indices include a checkbox of necessary and unnecessary in each item so that each local department of education or each center can select indicating items (indices) according to its own needs. The newly developed measurement indices consists of four domains to assess: (1) Institutional competencies-goals, budget, system, and resources, (2) Practitional competences-qualities of programs, administration of experiential career program providers, promotion of centers and programs, management of human resources such as instructors or guides, and establishment of community-center cooperative networking system, (3) Accomplishments-finding new experiential career program providers, the number of participants such as schools and students, reciprocal system, and the degree of participants' satisfaction with the center and programs, and (4) specialized indicators-extra scores for center-based specialized programs.

In this study, the flexural/shear behavior characteristics of perfobond FRP-concrete composite beams using an FRP plate with perforated webs as formwork and reinforcement are analyzed through an analytical method. Compared with the existing experimental results, we have proved its usefulness and use it in future practice. When the nonlinearity is very large in this case, the nonlinear finite element analysis by an explicit method will be effective. The concrete damage plasticity (CDP) model adopted in this study is considered to be able to adequately simulate the nonlinear behavior of concrete, and the determination of several variable factors required in the model is compared with the experimental results and values used in the study. This recommendation will require review and adjustment for more diverse cases. The effect of the perfobond of the composite beam with perforated web is considered to be somewhat effective in terms of securing the initial stiffness, but in the case of the apex, it is considered that the cross-sectional loss and the effect of improving the bonding force should be properly arranged. The contact problem, such as slipping of the FRP plate and concrete, is considered to be one of the reasons that the initial stiffness is slightly larger than the test result, and the slightly difference from the experimental results is attributed to the separation problem between concrete and FRP after the peak.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of soil types and soil properties on wood preservative leaching. Radiata pine (Pinus radiata Don.) sapwood stakes, which had been treated with 2.0%(w/v) CCA, were leached for 12 weeks by a common laboratory method in four different soils and for 14 days by the AWPA standard leaching method in water. The physical and chemical properties of the four soils were determined, and the percent leaching of the individual component of CCA was correlated with the various soil properties. The data show that leaching of preservative chemicals from treated wood exposed to soil is influenced by the type of soil. The preservative leaching was greater when wood was exposed to water than when the wood was in contact with water-saturated soil. The greatest chromium, copper and arsenic leaching from CCA-treated stakes were observed in the sandy loam, loam, and sand, respectively, and the least amount of leaching of CCA components occurred in the silty loam. The leaching of preservative components from treated wood is extremely complex and appears to be influenced differently by the soil properties. The extent of copper leaching from CCA treated wood appears to be related to exchangeable Mg and sum of bases. There is a reasonably good relationship between chromium leaching and exchangeable Mg, and between arsenic leaching and exchangeable K, soil Ni, Mn, Fe, Cr, or Cu content. Since this study was conducted based on laboratory leaching method using small cross-sectional dimensions; thus, data obtained from this experiment should not be used to predict leaching characteristics from commercial-size wood used in real situation. Accordingly, further studies are necessary using outdoor ground-contact leaching.

In this study, an analytical studies were carried out for the buoyancy preflexion method to improve structural performance of concrete floating structures. The buoyancy preflexion means that the preflexion effects were induced to the floating structure due to the difference in buoyancy between the pontoon modules composing the floating structures. In order to verify the buoyancy preflexion effects, an analytical studies were carried out for the floating structures. The size and dimensions of FE model were determined through the structural design process. The parameter of this analytical study was length ratios of central module part, which induces buoyancy preflexion effects, to the total length. The analysis results were pre-compression on the bottom concrete slab and displacement of freeboard due to buoyancy preflexion effects. These results were processed according to the loading step, buoyancy preflexion loads on the bottom and live loads on the topside. Then, the buoyancy preflexion effects on structural performance was analyzed. As the results of this study, it was found that the buoyancy preflexion significantly influence on structural performance of floating structures. According to the length ratio, the buoyancy preflexion effects have a tendency of parabolic form and maximized at the length ratio of 40~60%. The buoyancy preflexion method is simple in principle and easy in application. Also, it can effectively induce pre-compression on the bottom concrete slab. Therefore, it can be concluded that the buoyancy preflexion method contribute to the improvement of structural performance and decreasing of the cross-sectional depth of floating structures.

In order to provide an information as input data of possible storm surges in advance, the typhoon center and maximum wind position analysis scheme must be developed for the initialization of pressure and wind field. This study proposes a semi-automatical and objective analysis method and a procedure on a real time basis using the satellite TBB data of the GMS IR1, NOAA satellite CH4 and CH5, and shows the result of an experimental analysis. It includes a simple method of determining the parameters of the typhoon using minimum top temperature of the convective cloud near the inner eyewall. The method analyzing the isotropic cross sectional variation of TBB gradient from center to environment was developed to determine the center of Rmax of typhoon. This position of intense eyewall from typhoon center can be considered as the position of maximum wind. The results of estimation of typhoon center show very good agreement to the results of synoptic analysis. It is found that the Rmax is approximately 50-200km. From the comparison of the GMS and NOAA IR TBB data, it is found that the Rmax from NOAA data tends to be longer than those from GMS data.
