In order to research the flow in the thin wall compliant tube, this present study is attempt to measure the cross sectional area according to change of external pressure and flow by ultrasonic method different from willy used impedance technique for flow analysis about one dimensional Steads flow. The experimental results are as follows. 1) Measurement of cross sectional area ratio by ultrasonic method by comparison with experimental results of impedance technique & theoretical results were well consent. 2) Pressure difference of upstream and down stream is alwap's maximum range at 0.4 < $\alpha$ <0.5, and have no connection with changing external pressure. 3) when the external pressure is fixed and resistance is varied, Self excited oscillation occurs in the region at 0.5 < $\alpha$ <0.6, and oscillation disappear almost at R2>=1.2
Cross-flow existing in a shell-and-tube steam generator can cause a tube to vibrate. There are four regions subjected to cross-flow in Yonggwang units 3 and 4 (YGN 3 and 4) steam generators, which are of the same design as the steam generators for Palo Verde nuclear power plant Palo Verde units 1 and 2 steam generators have experienced localized oar at the comers of the cold side recirculating fluid inlet regions. A number of design modifications were made to preclude tube failure in specific regions of YGN 3 and 4 steam generators. Therefore, flow induced vibration experiments were done to determine the vibration magnitude of tubes in the economizer tube free lane region. The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate that the tube displacement is less than 0.01 inch rms at 100% of full power flow and to quantify the remaining design margin at 120ft and 140% of full power flow.
A wind turbine is one of the most popular energy conversion systems to generate electricity from the natural renewable energy source and an axial-flow type wind turbine is the most popular system for the electricity generation in the wind farm nowadays. In this study, a cross-flow type turbine has been studied for the application of wind turbine for electricity generation. The target capacity of electric power generation of the model wind turbine developing on the project is 12 volts, 130A/H (about 1.56kW). The important design parameters of the model turbine impeller are the inlet and exit angle of the turbine blade, number of blade, hub/tip ratio and the exit flow angle of the casing. In this study, the radial equilibrium theorem was used to decide the inlet and exit angle of the impller blade and CFD technique was used to have the performance analysis of the designed model power turbine to find out the optimum geometry of the CPT impeller and casing. The designed CPT with 24 impeller blades at ${\alpha}=82^{\circ}$, ${\beta}=40^{\circ}$ of turbine blade angle was estimated to generate 284.6 N.m of indicated torque and 2.14kW of indicated power.
A numerical method using FLUENT code was employed to investigate fluid drag and lift forces on a cylinder in a group of circular cylinders, subjected to a uniform cross flow. The cylinders can be arranged in tandem or in a staggered arrangements relative to the free stream flow. A vortex street behind the cylinder pairs or jets between the cylinders forms according to the arrangements. Vibration on a cylinder can occurs due to vortex shedding, fluid-elastic stiffness and wake galloping. The flow is first investigated and then the forces acting on the cylinder are calculated. The lift and drag forces on an elastically mounted cylinder in the wake of an upstream fixed cylinder arise from the mean flow plus velocity and pressure gradients in the wake. The analytical results of two staggered cylinder were compared with the existing experimental ones for validation of the present method. The analytical results of the forces were in good agreement with the experimental ones. The present method can be used for the analysis of the fluid induced vibration where the group of circular cylinders are subjected to a cross flow.
With uniform heat generation within the wall of the cylinder placed in a cross flow, heat flows by conduction in the circumferential direction due to the asymmetric nature of the fluid flow around the perimeter of the cylinder. The circumferential heat flow affects the wall temperature distribution to such an extent that in some cases significantly different results may be obtained for geometrically similar surfaces. In the present investigation, the effects of circumferential wall heat conduction on local convective heat transfer is investigated for the case of forced convection around horizontal cylinder in cross flow of air. Two-dimensional temperature distribution $T_w$/(${\gamma}$,${\theta}$) is presented through the numerical analysis. The one-dimensional and two-dimensional solutions are in good agreement with experimental results of local heat transfer coefficients.

An experimental study on the Hybrid Cooling Tower has been done having a rated capacity of 3RT. Counter flow type fill, cross flow type fill and hybrid-type fill which is combined with two type fills as previously stated having a height of 0.3m have been used in the 0.8m${\times}$0.4m${\times}$1.9m dimensional tower respectively. The heat exchanger is consisting of 2 or 3 rows. The relevant temperatures and the velocities were selected based on the typical Korean weather for the year round operation of the tower. The cooling capacity of the tower is explained with respect to varying air inlet velocities, wet-bulb temperatures, and air to cooling water volume flow rate ratio (L/G ratio). The capacity of the hybrid-type fill was much superior to other fills, but hybrid-type fill shows higher pressure drop.
Permeation behavior of the semiconductor rinsing wastewater containing Si particles was examined by ultrafiltration using the polysulfone plate membrane. The permeation flux was gradually decreased with time. It was due to the growth of cake deposited on the membrane surface and the pore plugging by Si particles. Permeation flux of cross flow type was 1.4 times higher than that of the dead end flow type. Nitrogen back flushing which is the removing method of membrane fouling was superior to the water sweeping. With nitrogen back flushing, the decrease of permeation flux due to the fouling was recovered about 85 % to the initial flux in the flat plate membrane system. The rejection rate of Si particles was about 90 % and the size of Si particle in the permeate was about 70 nm.
Energy dissipations in a general PHE flow are the compounded effects of the piled corrugate geometries and its wall pressure and temperature distributions. In addition, although the exchangers are substantial pieces of engineering equipment, they are composed of a very large number of nominally identical and small geometrical elements. In the present numerical study, the three-dimensionally complicated energy dissipation fields and those wall-shape-induced flow destabilization are investigated in the cross-corrugated passages, which result in high energy transports with comparatively low pressure drop. We revealed the critical conditions as $Re=157.3 for the wall-shape-induced flow destabilization in a general PHE element by initial value method, or shooting method, and compare its value to that of analytical solution of plane Poiseille flow, two-dimensional grooved flow and so on. We also observed the detailed variation of flow field and energy transportation with changes in time and flow variables such as Reynolds number. Lastly, we considered the flow natural frequency, or Strouhal number, with variation of hydrodynamic conditions for the best use of active control, such as forced mass flow rate pulsative flow, to enhance energy transportation.

In this study, to investigate in-cylinder tumble or swirl intake flow of a gasoline engine, the flow characteristics were examined with opening control valve (OCV) and several swirl control valves (SCV) which intensify intake flow through steady flow experiment, and also turbulent characteristics of in-cylinder flow field were investigated by 2-frame cross-correlation particle image velocimetry (PIV) method. In the investigation of intake turbulent characteristics using PIV method, the different flow characteristics were showed according to OCV or SCV figures. The OCV or SCV installed engine had higher vorticity and turbulent kinetic energy than a baseline engine, especially around the wall and lower part of the cylinder. Above all, SCV B type was superior to the others. About energy dissipation and reynolds shear stress distribution, a baseline engine had larger loss than OCV or SCV installed one because flow impinged on the cylinder wall. It should be concluded, from what has been said above, as swirl component was added to existing tumble flow adequately, it was confirmed that turbulent intensity was enlarged, flow energy was conserved effectively through the experiment. In other words, there is a suggestion that flow characteristics as these affected to in-cylinder combustion positively.
This study aims to figure out the impact of cross-promotion strategy on flow experience to overcome the restrictions of social network game. Social network games faces tougher market competition and shorter product life-cycles. The results show that the less users play games, the more they feel flow experience led by interests and self-expression of SNG. On the contrary, the more they play games, self- expression and sense of competition factor are proved to be effective factor for flow. Also Users' cognition for usefulness and annoyingness of cross- promotion are different according to level of game uses and promotion uses. People who play games more and utilize promotion more appreciate the usefulness of promotion and indulge in flow experience of SNG.
