The present article is aimed at an investigation of stresses produced in a microstretch elastic half-space due to a moving load. The expressions of normal stress, shear stress and tangential couple stress produced in this case have been obtained in closed form. To find the displacement fields the perturbation method is applied. Significant effect of moving load on variation of stresses developed at different depths below the surface due to the depth of substrate and frictional coefficient of the rough surface of the medium has been observed. The effects of different shapes of irregularity and depth of irregularity on normal, shear and tangential couple stresses have been discussed. Some particular cases have also been deduced from the present investigation. Finally, the analytical developments have been illustrated numerically for aluminium-epoxy-like material substrate under the action of moving load.

The vibrational characteristics of Langevin-type piezoelectric torsional transducers, which consist of a couple of piezoelectric discs and a couple of elastic blocks, have been studied theoretically and experimentally in this paper. The differential equations of piezoelectric torsional motion have been derived in terms of the circumferential displacement and the electric potential. Solutions of the boundary-value problem have yielded the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the transducers. The theoretical solutions have been verified by comparing the numerical results with experimental ones.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the perceived depression and conflict bvetween married couple in old age. The subject of this study was married couple over 60 years old who live in Seoul. The sample was composed of 201 cases. The data were analyzed using a SPSS statistics analysis program. The major findings were as follows: 1) The marital conflict in old age showed that there was a significant difference according to visiting and contact frequency of adult children. 2) The depression in old age show that therer was a significant difference in health condition, age, standard of living, educational level, duration of marriage, and leisure activity patterns. 3) The depression in old age was influenced by health condition, marital conflict, educatonal level. Health condition was the most powerful indicting the depression.

The purpose of this study is to identify participation-types of the family in the purchasing decision-making on items of commodities (TV, refrigerator, furniture, passenger car, housing, vacation, saving, husbands’clothing and children’s clothing). The other thing is to find who is major factors in each of the decision-making stages(the recognition of problem, the searching of information, the evaluation of alternatives and purchasing) among the subjects of decision-making (husband, wife, couple combination and family combination). To complete the purpose, the data were collected through questionnaire which 549 wives living in Seoul answered. From the data, frequency, percentage and correspondence analysis were executed by SPSS. The results of this study were briefly summarized as follows; Wives played an important role on all of decision-making stages for refrigerator, furniture, children’s clothing and husbands’clothing. Husbands played an important role on vacation and passenger car. And in case of saving, TV and housing, couple combination played an important role. It means that wives have a major influence on the purchasing process.

Using the modified couple stress theory and Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, this paper studies nonlinear vibration analysis of microbeams resting on the nonlinear orthotropic visco-Pasternak foundation. Using the Hamilton's principle, the set of the governing equations are derived and solved numerically using differential quadrature method (DQM), Newark beta method and arc-length technique for all kind of the boundary conditions. First convergence and accuracy of the presented solution are demonstrated and then effects of radius of gyration, Poisson's ratio, small scale parameters, temperature changes and coefficients of the foundation on the linear and nonlinear natural frequencies and dynamic response of the microbeam are investigated.

The purpose of this study is to investigate preferences of middle-aged people for elderly housing in order to properly plan elderly housing; 1 ) To analyze the middle-aged peoples' preferences for elderly housing in each situation based on the following 4 categories; elderly couple/healthy, elderly couple/unhealthy, elderly living alone/healthy, elderly living alone/unhealthy. 2) To clarify the differences in preferences for elderly housing according to the subjects' backgrounds in each case. This research intends to understand the form of elderly housing and desire for the environment of subjects, middle-age, who will be old aged, and the change of preference to characteristics for elderly housing according to the change of situation. The data were collected through structured questionnaires. The subject were 298 middle-aged, 40-50's who will be experiencing aging, major customer of elderly housing in the future.

The purpose of this study was to investigate couple's leisure time leisure cost and leisure satisfaction and the relations among these variables. Data for 214 couples were gathered from the structured questionnaire and time diary. The major findings of this study were as follows": (1) The amount of leisure time was very different between husbands and wives. And couples' leisure time was different according to wives' employement status,. (2) The amount of leisure cost was very different between couples and between employed wife and non-employed wife (3) Couple's leisure satisfaction was also different between couples and between employed wife and non-employed wife (4) In husbands' model leisure time had significant effect on their leisure satisfaction. On the other hand in wives' regression model different according to employment On the other hand in wives' regression model was different according to employment status. Employed wives' leisure satisfaction was significnatly rela ed to the leisure time and cost while non-employed wives' leisure satisfaction was related to leisure cost and age.

This article explored the perceptions of ‘family’and the factors related to respondents' definitions of a family. The data were collected from two types of people: one was 472 university students and high school students' parents who were asked whether or not each of 22 scenarios represented a‘family’, and the other was 40 young and middle-aged adults who were asked,“what is a family member?”. Results showed that (1) the overwhelming majority of respondents considered a married couple without a child(scenario #5) as a family and the least respondents agreed a divorced couple(scenario #18) as a family, (2) the majority perceived consanguinity, co-residence, parental status, and marital status to be important in the definition of a family, (3) middle-aged adults were more likely than young generation to agree that consanguinity and paternal relations were important in determining what a family member is.

To investigate failure mechanisms observed in carbon-phenolic thermal insulators, differential equations which govern the decomposition process in a deformable anisotropic porous solid are derived for three-dimensional axisymmetric constructions. The governing equations not only couple the material deformation with pore pressure, but also couple pressure and temperature, which means that heat convected by the pyrolysis gases is properly accounted for. Then the Bubnov-Galerkin finite element method is applied to these equations to transform them into a semidescrete finite element system. A thermal insulation liner in the cowl region under typical operating conditions is analyzed to find a mechanism for plylift. The results from the structural analysis show across-ply failure in the cowl zone. The mechanism for plylift is hypothesized as a sequential procedure : 1) the across-ply failure which is the precursor to plylift and 2) the local fiber buckling caused by generation of excessive in-plane compressive stress. To prevent plylift, the across-ply stress can be reduced by using appropriate material ply angles in cowl zone design.

다차원의 속성들을 포함한 대용량의 데이터베이스 또는 점보 저장소의 데이터로부터 지식을 추출하고 이를 활용하기 위해서는 데이터 마이닝의 인공지능 기법 중 기계학습을 활용할 수 있다. 본 논문은 질의어를 바탕으로 각 작성들에 가중치를 적용하여 사용자가 원하는 데이터 집합을 분류하고, 사용자 피드백을 통하여 속성 가중치를 동적으로 변화시킴으로써 검색결과를 향상시키는 방법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서는 데이터 집합을 분류해내기 위해서 각 속성간의 거리에 가중치를 적용하는 k-nearest neighbor 분류법을 사용하였고, 속성 가중치를 동적으로 변화시키는 규칙을 추출하기 위한 방법으로는 결정 트리 생성에 의한 규칙(decision rule) 생성 방법을 적용하였다. 검색결과 향상을 \ulcorner이기 위한 실험으로써 온라인 커플매칭(online couple-matching) 시스템의 핵심부문을 구현하고 이를 적용하였다.
