The survey was conducted targeting 161 individuals across the country from April 1 to May 31, 2013. The analyzing methods include frequency analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA analysis and stepwise regression analysis, etc. All of the empirical analysis was verified at the 5% level of significance. According to the result of analysis, the renamed individuals scored higher on the success scale, the emotional scale and the personality scale after renaming. The study found that the individuals, who adopted a new name as per their own desire, scored significantly higher on the self perception scale. The study will serve as a reference material for persons who desire a new name, based on its result that the greatest motivation for renaming is the "desire to have a good name" and that the biggest changes accompanying the new name are the self confidence and satisfaction which have helped the renamed individuals score higher on the self-perception scale after renaming.

  • Etymologies are explanations of what our words meant and how they sounded 600 to 2,000 years ago. When Linnaeus in the mid-1700s began naming animals with a binomial nomenclature, he based names on the Latin Grammatical Form. Since many names have Latin or Greek roots, the name for an animal is the same throughout the world because Latin is no longer a spoken language and meanings of names will not evolve or change. In his use of Latin or a Latinized word for the genus and species, Linnaeus used descriptive words that will always be the same. Notwithstanding the importance of etymologies for scientific names, no study has addressed the etymology of scientific names for Korean mammals. Here, we list etymologies for scientific names of 127 mammal species, 84 genera, 32 families, and 8 orders from Korea. The origins of etymologies are mostly based on morphology, color of pelage, behavior, distribution, locality, country name, or a person's name. This paper will be useful for new students and trained scholars studying Korean mammals.

  • Integrated CI (country identity, community identity) planning is necessary for establishing identity and a distinct image as well as for managing green tourism villages. In addition, CI planning will be helpful for improving and advertising a village's image, capitalizing on its specialties and attracting many visitors to the village. Therefore, this study mainly intended to plan and design integrated CI for a green tourism village. For this purpose, this study selected Hari village in Hongsung-Kun, Chungnam province, which the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry designated as a green tourism village in 2003. Twenty CI alternatives were developed, and a vote was conducted with 143 visitors and rural residents attending a village festival in 2004. This study resulted in a new brand-name, 'Hanuri,' and developed symbols, logotypes, distinctive colors, signature system as a basic system and name cards, packaging materials, and signs for use. Above all, this study led the residents to pursue a village identity, village image and community spirit, which can be an effective management strategy to create a distinct image in a green tourism village.

  • Tiffany & Co. had been recognized so highly in Korea even before its official advance to the country in 1991 that a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany'. The purpose of this study was to explain how American brand Tiffany had been spread and recognized among Korean people by analyzing related articles and advertisements during the period from the Liberation to the 1989. The research method used in this study was the articles of newspapers and relevant literature. This is the result that, with the run of movie 'Breakfast at Tiffany's in Korea in 1962, the trade name and trademark of Tiffany were used illegally not only by jewelry traders but also by other businesses. Other luxury jewelry brands in the same period could not enjoy indirect advertising and spillover effects as good as Tiffany. As a result, a successful jewelry company was called 'Korean Tiffany' in 1989, and the expression is still valid in the country.

In particular, the East Sea is not only a representative name of areas represent our country, but also the name of place being in competition with the Sea of Japan internationally. Korea is committed in many ways to spread the name of East Sea in the international community, and gradually expand its name power. The purpose of this study was to investigate the names used in the newspapers and broadcasting in Francophone countries except France by analyzing the newspaper articles and broadcasting contents, and to illuminate how the names of the East Sea produced in France, and the discussion about the names were diffused in Francophone countries and what kind of influence they had on those countries. This study selected Algeria in North Africa, Belgium and Luxembourg in West Europe, and Quebec in Canada for the research areas. In general, most Francophone countries are provided with press releases from AFP in France. Even in same article provided by AFP, The result shows that some media stick to use the name Sea of Japan solely, and others demonstrate a will to use both name East Sea and Sea of Japan simultaneously. • At present, the scale of Electronic Commerce through internet has been rapidly increasing due to the development of information & communication technology, and aggregated to 2.4 billion dollar in America last year (1998). The market scale of worldwide electronic commerce is also presumed to be about 130 billion dollar in 2000, and to occupy more than 20% of the whole world trade in world 2020. Since the right of trademark, despite of being effective only in registered nations on the principle of territorialism, is unified on the cyber space of internet without domestic barrier or local limitation which make it easier to conduct the distribution of information rapidly through the address-internet domain name, those are very important that the systematic dispute-solving plan on problems such as decision of its Act and international jurisdiction to be established, in an effort to prevent the newly emerging dispute instances such as trademark infringement and improper competitiveness. In addition, it is natural that on the threshold of the electronic commerce age which formed with an unified area without the worldwide specific regulation, each country including us makes haste with the enactment of "electronic commerce Act" aiming at coming into force in 1999, in keeping with getting through "non-tariff law on electronic commerce" by U. S. parliament on May, 1998. In view of the properties of electronic commerce transactions through internet, there are the large curtailment of distributive channel, surmounting of restrictions on transaction area, space and time and the easy feedback with consumer and the cheap-required capital, from which the problems may arise - registration of trademark, the trademark infringement of domain name and the protection of prestigious trademark. Therefore, it is necessary to take the counter-measure, with a view of reviewing the infringement of trademark and domain name and the instances of each national precedent and to preventing the disputes. The improvement of the persistent system should be needed to propel the harmonious protection of those holding trademark right's credit and demanders' expectant profit by way of the righteous use of trademark.

  • This study selected commonly known species of fruit trees, and re-selected the species that endure the stress of extreme cold weather and physiologically restore themselves to the previous state until the following year. Then we could go ahead to propose the species that were appropriate as urban greening plants in weather condition of any part of the country. To do this, we conducted an experiments for six species of fruit trees based on the preference of the general public and recommendation of the experts; Morus alba (English name: mulberries), Diospyros kaki (English name: Persimmon), Prunus persia (English name: Peach), Elaeagnus umbellata var. coreana (English name: Korean Autumn Olive), Malus domestica 'Alps Otome' (English name: Alps Otome), and Prunus mume (English name: Blue Plum). The experiment verifies whether the trees survive without any stress from the cold weather under the national climate conditions (one in the suburbs of Seoul: Yongin city, one in the central Chungcheong region: Daejeon city, and in the southern Gyeongsang region: Jinju city in Korea). The experiment lasted for a year from August 2016 to August 2017. The levels of electrolytic efflux, chlorophyll content, plant height, fresh weight, and dry weight were measured four times (on August of 2016, January, February, and August of 2017) for each tree planted bare ground outdoors. Results showed that Diospyros kaki, Prunus persia, and Malus domestica 'Alps Otome' were proven durable and resistant to winters of all three areas (one in the suburbs of Seoul: Yongin city, one in the central Chungcheong region: Daejeon city, and in the southern Gyeongsang region: Jinju city in Korea). Especially, the increase of chlorophyll content and the reduction of electrolytic efflux were noticeable in Prunus persia than in the other two species, proving itself as the most cold-tolerant among the six species used in the experiment. In addition, interpreting from the physiological restoration data of one-year span before and after getting through winterer, Prunus persia was proven to be the most cold-tolerant species.

  • In the web or not, all academic information have the creator which produces that information. The creator can be individual, organization, institution, or country. Most information consist of the title, author and content. The article among academic information is described by title, author, keywords, abstract, publisher, ISSN(International Standard Serial Number) and etc., and the patent information is consisted some metadata such as invention title, applicant, inventors, agents, application number, claim items etc. Most web-based academic information services provide search functions to user by processing and handling these metadata, and the search function using the author field is important. In this paper, we propose an effective indexing management for person name search, and search techniques using boosting factor and near operation based on phrase search to improve precision rate of search result. And we describe person name retrieval result with another expression name, co-authors and persons in same research field. The approach presented in this paper provides accurate data and additional search results to user efficiently.
