Study of complete transparent nano-emulsions which contain oils

  • Recently inside nano liposome particles or nano-emulsions which contain tough-melting physiology activity materials or the coefficient of low organism utilization promote the coefficient of organism utilization, so this part has been studied a lot because they can absorb selectly cosmetics, specially physiology activity materials, into the skin. Also, in particle size, cells interstitial lipid interval are 30~50nm, so nano-emulsions that the size is similar to 30~50 nm are made to study for absorbing quickly into the skin. And transparent skin which contains oils in common skin lotion dosage form has become the center of public interest. The used nano-emulsions in this study were unsaturated lecithin/co-surfactant! ethanol/ oil / water. And polysorbate 20/ polysorbate 80/ Dicetyl phosphate/hydrogenated .caster oil/ isoceteth-20/SLS were used in co-surfactant. The used oils were cyclomethicone and caprylic/capric triglyceride. The manufacturing process was that microfluidizer was fixed in 1000bar and transit times were changed from 1 to 10 times. From transparency and particle size, the transparency sequence was SLS> polysorbate 20= polysorbate 80> isoceteth-20> dicetyl phosphate >hydrogenated caster oil and the particle size was small. Specially cyclomethicone nano-emulsions, when we made unsaturated lecithin /SLS /ethanol/water/cyclomethicone, cyclomethicone 5% was good for transparency. And 20% of this was used for making transparent skin toner in common skin dosage form.

화장품 로드 숍 파사드의 브랜드 아이덴티티 표현요소와 브랜드 인지도의 영향관계에 관한 연구 - 명동 지역 화장품 로드 숍의 파사드 디자인을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Influence of Brand Identity Expressional Elements and Brand Awareness in Cosmetic Road Shop's Facade - Focusing on Designs of Facades of Cosmetic Road Shops in Myeongdong -)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how brand identity expressional elements in cosmetic road shops' facades would affect the brand awareness of consumers while extracting those brand identity expressional elements observed in the facades of the cosmetic road shops. In order to achieve the research goal, the study used Q methodology, a method to measure subjectivity. The results have been summarized as follows. (1) The elements to express the brand identity found in the facades of the cosmetic road shops were observed to be two-dimensional expressional elements, and they should include a symbol, a logo, a signboard, materials to express an image (products, models) and a brand color. As for the three-dimensional expressional elements, they were a building (form, materials, pattern), decorations (lean-to roof, canopy, sculptures, lighting, screen) and a display window (focusing on products, visuality or the inside of a shop). (2) The findings of the analyses on the brand awareness using Q methodology have been presented as follows. (1) When multiple identity expressional elements which would be associated with each other are used, the brand awareness gets increased relatively efficiently. (2) In case of men, they would perceive a brand more easily through those formative expressional elements such as a form of a building. (3) In case of women, they would perceive a brand more conveniently through those visual expressional elements such as a brand color. (3) In conclusion, the study figured out that, among the brand identity expressional elements, the one which would influence the brand awareness most would be (1) the brand color, followed by (2) the building-form, (3) the lean-to roof, (4) the display window and (5) the logo. Based upon what has been learned so far, the study confirmed that when it comes to securing the brand awareness in the market, cosmetic companies should, first, realize how important it is to make good use of the two-dimensional (visual) expressional element, the brand color, and the three-dimensional expressional element, the form of the building, together before they even try to design facades of their shops on the streets.

천연색소 함유 화장료 조성물의 항균효과 및 항산화활성 (Antimicrobial Effects and Antioxidative Activities of the Cosmetic Composition Having Natural Plant Pigments)

  • 천연색소를 이용한 천연 색조화장품 개발을 위한 기초자료로 활용하고자, 15종의 천연색소를 사용하여 제조한 화장료 조성물에 대하여 항균활성 및 항산화능을 조사하였다. 실험에 사용한 6종의 균주 중 Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Aspergillus flavus에 대해 대부분의 색소혼합조성물에서 항균활성이 나타나는 것으로 확인되었으며, Proteus vulgaris에서는 다른 균주에 비해 항균활성이 상대적으로 낮았다. 색소종류별로는 자색고구마, 여주, 파프리카, 뽕잎, 지치 등의 색소 조성물에서 다른 색소 조성물에서보다 더 높은 항균활성을 보였다. 또한 DPPH 라디컬 소거능은 양파껍질, 파프리카, 적양배추, 뽕잎, 포도과피, 오디, 레드비트 색소 함유 조성물에서 상대적으로 높은 활성을 보였으며, 아질산염 소거능에 있어서는 특히 pH 1.2에서 적양배추, 포도과피, 오디, 백년초를 제외한 대부분의 색소에서 70% 이상의 높은 활성을 나타냈다. 다양한 천연색소를 이용하여 수행한 본 실험을 통해 천연색소의 높은 항균효과와 항산화능을 확인할 수 있었으며, 향후 이러한 기능성을 활용한 안전한 천연 색조화장품 개발에 유용한 자료가 될 것으로 기대한다.

A Case of Nonthrombotic Pulmonary Embolism after Facial Injection of Hyaluronic Acid in an Illegal Cosmetic Procedure

  • Hyaluronic acid is widely used in medical procedures, particularly in cosmetic procedures administered by physicians or nonmedical personnel. The materials used for cosmetic procedures by physicians as well as illegally by non-medical personnel can cause nonthrombotic pulmonary embolism (NTPE). We report the case of a woman with acute respiratory failure, neurologic symptoms and petechiae after an illegal procedure of hyaluronic acid dermal filler performed by an unlicensed medical practitioner 3 days before symptom onset. Although a few cases of NTPE after injection of hyaluronic acid have been reported yet, this is the first typical case showing a NTPE manifestation after the facial injection of hyaluronic acid.

항산화 및 미백화장품 원료로서의 땅콩새싹 추출물에 관한 연구 (A Study on Peanut Spouts Extract as the Anti-oxidant Activity and the Skin Whitening Cosmetic Ingredients)

  • To investigate the effect of peanut sprout extract on skin care, we measured anti-oxidant activity and whitening action. As a result of measuring DPPH radical scavenging activity to examine independent anti-oxidation of peanut sprout extract, there was strongly scavenging activity. Fluorescent material DCF-DA was used to measure hydrogen peroxide created in RAW 264.7 cells, and all concentration dependently decreased ROS production. As a result of measuring nitric oxide to examine anti-inflammation of peanut sprout extract, there was strongly inhibited nitric oxide production in RAW 264.7 cells. Tyrosinase activation was found to inhibited dose-dependant. Melanin production was also prevented dose-dependant. Therefore, it is expected to be used effectively in development of functional cosmetic materials.

A Study of Development Antibacterial Cosmetic Case using UV Wavelength

  • 본 연구에서는 자외선 파장을 활용한 항균 화장품 케이스를 개발하고자 하였다. UVC는 경제성 및 편리성 면에서 우수한 항균 성능을 가진다. 실험은 이를 입증하고 적합한 투과 재질을 찾는 것을 목적으로 진행하였다. 실험에는 자외선 파장을 이용한 항균 화장품 케이스의 항균력을 측정·비교하기 위해 UVA, UVC 기기 및 타사 제품을 사용하였다. 실험 대상 균주로는 그람양성균인 S. aureus를 사용하였으며, 항균력은 평판계수법을 통해 대상 균주의 집락 수를 측정·비교하였다. 실험 결과는 UVA와 UVC 모두 항균 활성을 나타냈고, UVC가 가장 뛰어난 항균 활성을 나타냈다. 결론적으로 UVC를 직접투과 할 때 석영유리가 가장 적합하지만 검사한 재질의 두께가 두꺼워질수록 항균력이 감소하였다.

친환경 소재를 이용한 화장품 쿠션 팩트 용기의 힌지 설계와 사출 성형 시뮬레이션 (Hinge Design and Injection Molding Simulation of Cosmetic Cushion Fact Container Using Eco-Friendly Materials)

  • As the consumer market in the cosmetic, vehicle manufacturing and aerospace industries grows, the demand for manufacturing industries using on injection mold technology. Also, such manufacturing technology of metal machining is expensive, and the shape is limited. Cosmetic cushion fact products are divided into outer relevant to the exterior of the product and inner containers containing the actual contents. In the case of the inner container, it needs to be combined with the upper and lower cases. As environmental regulations are strengthened internationally, the use of a large number of component parts can result in significant losses in recycling and economics. Therefore, this study aims to perform injection molding analysis through injection molding simulation to develop a cushion fact container that can be recycled through the unification of products and materials using polypropylene to cope with environmental regulations. In the case of injection molding conditions, Injection Time(sec): 4.5, Cooling Time(sec): 13, Resin Temperature($^{\circ}C$): 240, and Pressure(MPa): 30 were determined. The results of injection molding simulation according to the two design methods were compared with the sync mark which shows the problem of filling and injection molding.

층층갈고리둥굴레 (Polygonatum sibiricum Redoute) 뿌리줄기와 잎의 증숙 시간과 증숙 온도에 따른 생리활성 변이 연구 (Changes of Biological Activities of Rhizome and Leaves of Polygonatum sibiricum Redoute according to Steaming Time and Temperature)

  • Background: The aim of this study was to analyze the total phenol and total flavonoid contents and antioxidant activity of steam-treated leaves and rhizomes of Polygonatum sibiricum Redoute. In addition, we aimed to confirm their potential use as cosmetic materials by investigating their anti-aging and skin-whitening activity. Methods and Results: The leaves and rhizomes of P. sibiricum were treated with steam at different temperatures for different durations, and the antioxidant activity (DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging activity) and total phenol and total flavonoid contents of each sample were tested. The steam temperature and treatment duration siginificantly affected the antioxidant activity and, total phenol and total flavonoid content of the leaves and rhizome of P. sibiricum. Treating the P. sibiricum samples with steam at 120℃ for 12 h, yielded higher total phenol and total flavonoid contents. Comparatively, the samples treated with steam at 120℃ for 12 to 24 h showed significantly higher antioxidant activity. Further, the steamed samples of P. sibiricum demonstrated collagenase and tyrosinase inhibition activity, which indicated their anti-aging and skin-whitening properties. The samples steamed at 120℃ for 12 h, exhibited higher collagenase and tyrosinase inhibition activity. Conclusions: Leaves and rhizomes of P. sibiricum steamed at 120℃ for 12 h, showed highest antioxidant activity and, total phenol and total flavonoid contents than all other samples. Our results indicate the potential of using P. sibiricum as a cosmetic material by confirming its excellent anti-aging and whitening activity.

구기자 추출물의 항노화 활성 평가 (Evaluation of Antiaging Activity on Lycium chinense Miller. Extracts)

  • 본 연구는 구기자의 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 검토하였다. 에탄올을 용매로 하여 얻어진 추출물 중 총 폴리페놀 함량은 17.3 mg/mL이었으며, 추출물의 세포 독성을 확인하기 위해 MTT assay결과 1000 ㎍/mL 이하의 농도에서 세포 생장에 영향을 미치지 않았다. 항산화 효능 실험으로 DPPH radical 소거 시험을 실시한 결과 1000 ㎍/mL의 농도에서 84.97%의 소거능을 나타내었고, SOD 유사 활성 실험 결과 1000 ㎍/mL에서 80.54%의 결과로 우수한 항산화 효능을 보였다. Elastase 저해 활성을 측정한 결과 1000 ㎍/mL에서 50.93%의 저해율을 나타내어 구기자 추출물이 elastase 저해에 효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구로부터 구기자 70% ethanol 추출물은 항산화와 주름 개선 효능을 확인함으로써 기능성 화장품 소재로의 활용 가능성을 확인하였다.

기능성 화장품 국내외 산업 동향 연구 (Research on domestic and international industrial trends of functional cosmetics)

  • 기능성 화장품이라 함은 피부미백, 주름개선, 자외선차단 등 특정한 기능을 가지고 피부에 효과를 주는 화장품을 말했다. 그런데 2017년 이후 기능성 화장품의 품목이 확대되었다. 대한민국의 기능성 화장품 산업은 미백, 주름, 자외선 차단 제품에 머물고 새로운 기능성 제품의 개발은 미비한 상태이다. 또한 코스메슈티컬과 메디컬 화장품을 비롯한 고기능성 화장품도 아직 정립되지 않은 상태이다. 그리고 국외에 수출실적 순위는 프랑스가 가장 높았고 미국, 독일 순으로 나타났다. 프랑스는 화장품 산업 업계 1위 국가답게 바이오 공업과 기능성 소재에서 메커니즘 중심의 기능성 화장품을 강조하고 있고 미국은 럭셔리 프리미엄 제품에 수요도가 높았으며 독일은 바이오 하이테크 기술에 주목하고 있다. 이처럼 한국도 신흥 산업에 적용할 수 있는 기능성 화장품들의 새로운 소재들을 개발하고 정치와 경제가 뒷받침 되어 연구에 더 집중할 수 있는 환경이 갖춰져 다양한 기능성 화장품 산업 등을 발전시켜 나아가야 할 것이다.
