  • Recently, there have been active researches about the VPCS (Virtual Parallel Computing System) based on multiple agents. The PVCS uses personal computers or workstations that are dispersed all over the internet, rather than a high-cost supercomputer, to solve complex problems that require a huge number of calculations. It can be made up with either homogeneous or heterogeneous computers, depending on resources available on the internet. In this paper, we propose a new method in order to distribute worker agents and work packages efficiently on the VPCS based on the IBM Aglets. The previous methods use mainly the master-slave pattern for distributing worker agents and work packages. However, in these methods the workload increases dramatically at the central master as the number of agents increases. As a solution to this problem, our method appoints worker agents to distribute worker agents and workload packages. The proposed method is evaluated in several ways on the VPCS, and its results are improved to be worthy of close attention as compared with the previous ones.

  • This paper introduces two functions added to the current version of ns-2 simulator for better accuracy of IEEE 802.15.4 network simulations. The first one is to automatically place hidden nodes over the ring topology in which the coordinator is centered, when the number of hidden nodes and total number of nodes is given. Collisions of signals can be distinguished into the trace file according to the ways of participation of hidden nodes. The second one is the CCA deferment algorithm described in IEEE 802.15.4-2006 standard which is not implemented in the current version of ns-2. Owing to these additional functions, we can carry out the precise analysis of the performance effects of hidden nodes and CCA deferment algorithm on 802.15.4 networks. Simulation results present at least 66% of performance degradation in throughput and drastic increase of collision probability up to 90% from 65% by just a single hidden node. Besides, 2006 standard for CCA deferment algorithm gives 19% lower collision probability and 38% higher performance.

  • The Blockchain technology could represent a solution to unexpected problems. In modern society, the domain of value has become diversified. The Crypto currency would replace the area that conventional currency could not function. The Japanese government recognized the Bitcoin as an official currency from April 2017 through amendment of the Money Transfer Act in 2016, and has been leading the related regulation policy recently. This paper examines the policy strategy of the Japanese government that is leading the current policy related to the Crypto currency market. The sequence of this paper is as follows: Coordination Process of Japanese Government's Crypto currency Policy of Special Mission Committee on IT Strategy as a Coordinator, Amendment of the Fund Settlement Act and the Establishment of a Self-Regulation Organizations in Crypto currency and Japan's Crypto currency Taxation and Supplementary System.

  • Recently, the importance of CAE research is growing with the advances of the automotive and computer industry. In addition, multi-body dynamics and powertrain analysis are the most important factors in improving the vehicle design. Since engine torque with curve-data was used for analyzing full car simulation in the multi-body dynamics system for many years, it is impossible to assess the concurrent analysis of the engine and powertrain element included in a real full car system. In powertrain, since vehicle are usually modeled as a simple mass and a inertia, they can not be seen as real cars. Moreover, it is hard to obtain additional dynamics data other than the longitudinal velocity value in movement. Because of the reason that was previously discussed, it is necessary to consolidate the two parts as one routine program for design and development through the coordinate system connectivity, and presented here is a program named O-DYN. Using an object-oriented language C++, this program has a good structure with the valuable characteristics of objectivity, inheritance, and reusability. The reliability of this multi-body dynamics program is examined by DADS, which is the general dynamics program, using DAE solver and PECE integral function with the common coordinator separation method. As a result, we can obtain a better solution and total dynamics data in either area through this process. This program will be useful for analyzing full car simulation with powertrain.

  • Background: This retrospective study analyzed the causes of failure in the management process from the identification of brain-dead potential organ donors to actual donation in Korea over the past 5 years. Methods: Data of 8,120 potential brain deaths reported to the Korea Organ Donation Agency were used, including information received at the time of reporting, donation suitability evaluation performed by the coordinator after the report, and data obtained from interviews of hospital medical staff and the donor's family. Results: From January 2012 to December 2016, the total number of brain-dead potential organ donors in Korea was 8,120, of which 2,348 (28.9%) underwent organ procurement surgery with designated recipients. While the number of transplant donors has increased over time, the ratio of transplant donors to medically suitable brain-dead donors has decreased. The common causes of donation failure included donation refusal (27.6%), non-brain death (15.5%), and incompatible donation (11.6%); 104 potential donors (7.8%) were unable to donate their organs because they were not pronounced brain dead. Conclusion: The rate of successful organ donation may be increased by analyzing the major causes of failure in the brain-dead organ donation management process and engaging in various efforts to prevent such failures.

  • This review article summarizes the trends and issues around the mobility business and government regulations in Korea. Key issues identified involve unclear government regulations, conflict management between key stakeholders, platform labor, and regional conflicts. The study then offers an overview of the current government regulations on the mobility business and conflict management, along with some policy recommendations in the areas of linking conflict resolution efforts with the welfare safety net, and corporates' social responsibility for the sustainable ecosystem. Ultimately, an ecosystem is required for multiple ministries and stakeholders to participate in the process of improving the regulations, as well as a control tower (government agency) who plays the pivotal role as a coordinator.

  • This study was done to investigate the independent organizations established for patient safety, related policies, and the duties of experts in other countries. Australia established an organization called the Commission in 2006, the United Kingdom established the National Patients Safety Agency in 2001, and the United States assigned its work to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality in 2005. This was done by law in all three countries. The experts for patient safety were mainly called the "patent safety and quality coordinator", and although there was no qualification system for carrying out patient safety work, all three countries had licenses in the health care field or required more than 4-5 years of practical experience. The main duties were planning on patient safety and quality of healthcare service, data collection and analysis, and education, etc. and for this, competencies such as communication, leadership, and teamwork were required.

  • Nowadays, the Internet of Things (IoT) is adopted to enable effective and smooth communication among different networks. In some specific application, the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) are used in IoT to gather peculiar data without the interaction of human. The WSNs are self-organizing in nature, so it mostly prefer multi-hop data forwarding. Thus to achieve better communication, a cross-layer routing strategy is preferred. In the cross-layer routing strategy, the routing processed through three layers such as transport, data link, and physical layer. Even though effective communication achieved via a cross-layer routing strategy, energy is another constraint in WSN assisted IoT. Cluster-based communication is one of the most used strategies for effectively preserving energy in WSN routing. This paper proposes a Bio-inspired cross-layer routing (BiHCLR) protocol to achieve effective and energy preserving routing in WSN assisted IoT. Initially, the deployed sensor nodes are arranged in the form of a grid as per the grid-based routing strategy. Then to enable energy preservation in BiHCLR, the fuzzy logic approach is executed to select the Cluster Head (CH) for every cell of the grid. Then a hybrid bio-inspired algorithm is used to select the routing path. The hybrid algorithm combines moth search and Salp Swarm optimization techniques. The performance of the proposed BiHCLR is evaluated based on the Quality of Service (QoS) analysis in terms of Packet loss, error bit rate, transmission delay, lifetime of network, buffer occupancy and throughput. Then these performances are validated based on comparison with conventional routing strategies like Fuzzy-rule-based Energy Efficient Clustering and Immune-Inspired Routing (FEEC-IIR), Neuro-Fuzzy- Emperor Penguin Optimization (NF-EPO), Fuzzy Reinforcement Learning-based Data Gathering (FRLDG) and Hierarchical Energy Efficient Data gathering (HEED). Ultimately the performance of the proposed BiHCLR outperforms all other conventional techniques.
