  • In this paper, we introduce a new iteration method based on the hybrid method in mathematical programming and the descent-like method for finding a common element of the solution set for a variational inequality and the set of common fixed points of a nonexpansive semigroup in Hilbert spaces. We obtain a strong convergence for the sequence generated by our method in Hilbert spaces. The result in this paper modifies and improves some well-known results in the literature for a more general problem.

  • In this paper, we consider a system of generalized nonlinear ordered variational inclusions in real ordered Banach spaces and define an iterative algorithm for a solution of our problems. By using the resolvent operator techniques to prove an existence result for the solution of the system of generalized nonlinear ordered variational inclusions and discuss convergence of sequences suggested by the algorithms.

  • We show an exponential inequality for negatively associated and strictly stationary random variables replacing an uniform boundedness assumption by the existence of Laplace transforms. To obtain this result we use a truncation technique together with a block decomposition of the sums. We also identify a convergence rate for the strong law of large number.

  • Due to the Typhoon MAEMI on Sep. of 12 in 2003, the turbidity value of DOAM Dam was recorded more than 300NTU until now. The natural zeolite located in the east coast of Korean peninsula was applied to reduce turbidity with cation exchange process. The result of this technique, the value of turbidity was reduced less than 1NTU. Also the value of pH showed stable state compare to before and after.

  • Strong convergence theorems on viscosity approximation methods for finite nonexpansive mappings are established in Banach spaces. The main theorem generalize the corresponding result of Kim and Xu [10] to the viscosity approximation method for finite nonexpansive mappings in a reflexive Banach space having a uniformly Gateaux differentiable norm. Our results also improve the corresponding results of [7, 8, 19, 20].

  • In this paper, we propose a calculation method for fuzzy control based on quantized $\alpha$ -cut decomposition of fuzzy sets. This method is easy to be implemented in analog hardware. The effect of quantization levels on defuzzified fuzzy inference result is investigated. A few quantization levels are sufficient for fuzzy control. The hardware implementation of this calculation method and the defuzzificaion by gravity center method by PWM are also presented.

  • In this letter, we present a new approximation for the twodimensional (2-D) Gaussian Q-function. The result is represented by only the one-dimensional (1-D) Gaussian Q-function. Unlike the previous 1-D Gaussian-type approximation, the presented approximation can be applied to compute the 2-D Gaussian Q-function with large correlations.

  • This paper proposes a preprocessing method for tracking aircraft's take-off and lading. The method uses accumulative difference image technique for segmenting the object from the background, and obtains the centroid of the object exactly using centroid method. Then the moving object is analyzed and represented with the information such as feature point, velocity, and distance. A simulation result reveals that the proposed algorithm has good performance in segmenting and tracking the aircraft.
