A regression function in generalized linear model may have a discontinuity/change point at unknown location. In order to estimate the location of the discontinuity point and its jump size, the strategy is to use a nonparametric approach based on one-sided kernel weighted local-likelihood functions. Weak convergences of the proposed estimators are established. The finite-sample performances of the proposed estimators with practical aspects are illustrated by simulated examples.

Many studies on convergence education have been done in the field of gifted education to meet the social needs for people of convergence talent and to adjust our education system to the paradigm shift. However, the number of studies on convergence gifted education is not sufficient enough and most of them are mainly on science and art. So, this study reviews the previous studies on gifted education involving convergence, and discusses the pressing issues to address for the development of convergence gifted education in korea. Also, the direction of the further research is introduced. There is an agreement that the definition of the convergence gifted and convergence gifted education needs to be clarified, and further researches have to be conducted to establish a basis for defining integrated thinking ability. Furthermore, it is suggested that the contents for convergence gifted education should be developed accommodating individual differences, and a theory-based approach to creating convergence gifted education programs is proposed. On top of that, the needs for the studies on how to strengthen the educational capability of the teachers are discussed.

In today's Pay TV market, the importance of TPS for Pay TV operators is increasing rapidly. IP Hybrid services are essential for satellite broadcasters. This paper explains the various digital satellite broadcasting service trend, especially IP based hybrid service approach of satellite broadcasters(BskyB, CanalSat, DirecTV, etc.). Also this paper introduces SkyLife IP hybrid business approach to achieve a strong leadership in Pay TV market and related IP convergence market in Korea.

Nonlinear ill-posed problems arise in many application including parameter estimation and inverse scattering. We introduce a least squares regularization method to solve nonlinear ill-posed problems with constraints robustly and efficiently. The regularization method uses Trust-Region approach to handle the constraints on variables. The Generalized Cross Validation is used to choose the regularization parameter in computational tests. Numerical results are given to exhibit faster convergence of the method over other methods.

In selecting a final tree, Breiman, Friedman, Olshen, and Stone(1984) compare the prediction risks of a pair of tree, where one contains the other, using the standard error of the prediction risk of the larger one. This paper proposes an approach to selection of a final tree by using the standard error of the difference of the prediction risks between a pair of trees rather than the standard error of the larger one. This approach is compared with CART's for simulated data from a simple regression model. Asymptotic results of the approaches are also derived and compared to each other. Both the asymptotic and the simulation results indicate that final trees by CART tend to be smaller than desired.

A normalization approach to coefficient adaptation in the escalator(ESC) filter structure that conventionally employs least mean square(LMS) algorithm is introduced. Using Taylor's expansion of the local error signal, a normalized form of the ESC-LMS algorithm is derived. Compared with the computational complexity of the conventional ESC-LMS algorithm employs input power estimation for time-varying convergence coefficient using a single-pole low-pass filter, the computational complexity of the proposed method can be reduced by 50% without performance degradation.

This paper presents a new approach to optimal power flow (OPF) problem using conjugate gradient method, using this method. We can obtain initial feasible solution and lagrangian multiplier without calculation of matrix inversion.Test experiment shows a desiriable result and a stable convergence characteristic.

In this paper, a combination problem of controllers which are the same type of $H_{\infty}$ controllers designed with different weighting functions. This approach can remove the difficulty in the selection of the weighting functions. As a sub-controller, the Youla type of $H_{\infty}$ controller is used. In the $H_{\infty}$ controller, Youla parameterization is used to minimize $H_{\infty}$ norm of mixed sensitivity function by using polynomial approach. Computer simulation results show the robustness improvement and the performance improvement.

This study uses theoretical perspectives and models from organizational ecology to examine the dynamics and viability of strategic groups. Integrating the ecological perspective and the contingency theoretical view of strategic management, this study developed propositions demonstrating the impact of environmental density and variation on the effectiveness of strategic groups. Justifications for linking ecological perspectives to strategic management theory are discussed and the importance of the integrative approach to strategic management is highlighted.
