This paper has presented research results for the switching mode class E frequency multiplier that has simple circuit structure and high efficiency. Frequency multiplication is coming from the nonlinearity of the active component, and this paper models the FET active component as a simple switch and some parasitics to analyze the characteristics. The matching component parameters for the class E frequency doubler have been derived with modeling the FET as a input controlled switch and some parasitics. A circuit simulator, ADS, is used to simulate the output voltage and current waveform and efficiency with the variation of the parasitic values. With 2.9GHz input and 2V bias, the drain efficiency has been decreased from 98% to 28% with changing the parasitic capacitance from 0pF to 1pF at 5.8GHz output, which shows that the parasitic capacitance CP has the most significant effect on the efficiency among the parasitics of FET.

The Cycloconverter that the author is going to treat in this paper, has strong advantages over the D.C. Link Inverter in points of chattering torque problem and natural commutation. Thus, the Cycloconverter is expected to be well applied to large and low-speed machines which require better speed control at low frequency. But the control circuit of Cycloconverter has two weak points described as follows. 1) Because of its rather complicated control circuit, it is likely to be illoperating due to unexpected noise signals, thus the higher the accuracy and reliability of the circuit is required to be, the more the circuit may cost. 2) Because the load current is not purely sinusoidal, the Cycloconverter may possibly be destroyed in case of inaccurate convert switching resulted from the difficulties in detecting the load current-zero and the current direction at the moment. In this paper, the author first of all intends to design and build a modified VVVF-type Noncirculating Current Cycloconverter to which recently proposed control methods are applied for improving the circuit simplicity, the control performance, and the system reliability. And then, experiments for observing the output waveforms of the Cycloconverter which is controlled by Singled-Board Computer using 8086 16-bit microprocesser are carried out. Finally the author concludes the result of this study as follows. 1) By replacing the conventional analog control circuits such as Reference Wave Generator, Cosine Timing Wave Generator, and Comparator with softwares, a great circuit simplicity is achieved. 2) The output of the designed Cycloconverter changes its frequency very fast without showing discontinuity of its waveform, and this waveform characteristics enables the smooth speed control of Induction Motor. 3) The design control circuit of Cycloconverter can be applied to the systems of 12 or 24 pulses because of its short processing period.

The capacitive coupled plasma is used widely in the semiconductor industries. Especially, the uniformity of the industrial plasma is heavily related with defect ratio of devices. Therefore, the industries need the capacitive coupled plasma source which can generate the uniform plasma and control the plasma's uniformity. To achieving the uniformity of the large area plasma, we designed multi-powered electrodes. We controlled the uniformity by controlling the power of each electrode. After this work, we started to research another concept of the plasma device. We make the plasma chamber that has multi-ground electrodes imaginary (CST microwave studio) and simulate the electric field. The shape of the multi-ground electrodes is ring type, and it is same as the shape of the multi-power electrodes that we researched before. The diameter of the side electrode's edge is 300mm. We assumed that the plasma uniformity is related with the impedance of ground electrodes. Therefore we simulated the imaginary chamber in three cases. First, we connected L (inductor) and C (capacitor) at the center of multi-ground electrodes. Second, we changed electric conductivity of multi-ground electrode. Third, we changed the insulator's thickness between the center ground electrode and the side ground electrode. The driving frequency is 2, 13.56 and 100 MHz. We switched our multi-powered electrode system to multi-ground electrode system. After switching, we measured the plasma uniformity after installing a variable vacuum capacitor at the ground line. We investigate the effect of ground electrodes' impedance to plasma uniformity.

This paper proposes an analysis of voltage delay and compensation for current control in H-Bridge Multi-Level (HBML) inverters for a medium voltage motor drive with vector control. It is shown that the expansion and modularization capability of the HBML inverter is improved in case of using Phase-Shifted Pulse Width Modulation (PSPWM) since individual inverter modules operate more independently. But, the PSPWM of HBML has a phase difference between reference voltage and real voltage, which can cause instability in the current regulator at high speed where the ratio of the sampling frequency to the output frequency is insufficient. This instability of the current regulator is removed by adding a proposed method which compensate a phase difference between reference voltage and real voltage. The proposed method is suitable for HBML inverter controlled by PSPWM with low switching frequency and high speed motor drive. The validity of the proposed method is verified experimentally on 6,600[V] 1,400[kW] induction motor fed by an 13-level HBML inverter.
High-power electromagnetic transmitter power supplies are an important part of deep geophysical exploration equipment. This is especially true in complex environments, where the ability to produce a highly accurate and stable output and safety through redundancy have become the key issues in the design of high-power electromagnetic transmitter power supplies. To solve these issues, a high-frequency switching power cascade based emission power supply is designed. By combining the circuit averaged model and the equivalent controlled source method, a modular mathematical model is established with the on-state loss and transformer induction loss being taken into account. A triple-loop control including an inner current loop, an outer voltage loop and a load current forward feedback, and a digitalized voltage/current sharing control method are proposed for the realization of the rapid, stable and highly accurate output of the system. By using a new algorithm referred to as GAPSO, which integrates a genetic algorithm and a particle swarm algorithm, the parameters of the controller are tuned. A multi-module cascade helps to achieve system redundancy. A simulation analysis of the open-loop system proves the accuracy of the established system and provides a better reflection of the characteristics of the power supply. A parameter tuning simulation proves the effectiveness of the GAPSO algorithm. A closed-loop simulation of the system and field geological exploration experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the control method. This ensures both the system's excellent stability and the output's accuracy. It also ensures the accuracy of the established mathematical model as well as its ability to meet the requirements of practical field deep exploration.
A HEV evaluation program, funded by ADEME, was carried out by a group of Laboratories of different specialties in order to evaluate and compare consumption, emission and component technologies of the three first HEVs put on the market (Toyota Prius, Nissan Tino and Honda Insight). This paper presents the results obtained until now. These results show good consumption and emission performance of the tested vehicles compared to conventional ones. The energy management seems to be globally the same for the three vehicles excepting for cold stans where the Insight allows a very earlier stop of the engine compared to the Tino and especially to the Prius. A mapping of the engine consumption of the Prius and the Insight was performed in order to furnish data for the simulation models. The Permanent Magnet motors of the Prius and Tino have different number of pair poles and then different emf at a given speed. The low emf values of the Prius allow operation at high speed with less field weakening control than for the Tino. The inverters of the Prius and the Tino, controlled by a PWM at respectively 5 kHz and 7 kHz switching frequency, are made of IGBTs with high commutation performances.

In the modem power distribution systems, there are lots of zero-phase current harmonics in the neutral power line due to much usages of the controlled switching devices, various semiconductor power converting systems, OA(Office Automation) equipments, PC etc. In order to minimize the current harmonics a zero-phase neutral line current eliminating reactor (NHER) is designed and analyzed its performance using the finite element program. For the design of NHER a program is developed using C++ program. To verify the program a case model(380/220[V], 200[A]) is designed and analyzed by the developed program. As the results of the optimal design, the core loss is reduced by 26[%] with eliminating of the current harmonics. Especially the ninth harmonics is much reduced as compared with the others. When the design of NHER is adapted to the load of the power system, the eliminating effect and efficiency of the device will be much better

New $\pi$-conjugated multi-branched molecules were synthesized through the Homer-Emmons reaction using alkyl-substituted, 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene-based, thiophenyl aldehydes and octaethyl benzene-l,2,4,5-tetrayltetrakis(methylene) tetraphosphonate as the core unit; these molecules have all been fully characterized. The two multi-branched conjugated molecules exhibited excellent solubility in common organic solvents and good self-film forming properties. The semiconducting properties of these multi-branched molecules were also evaluated in organic field-effect transistors (OFET). With octyltrichlorosilane (OTS) treatment of the surface of the $SiO_2$ gate insulator, two of the crystalline conjugated molecules, 7 and 8, exhibited carrier mobilities as high as $2.4({\pm}0.5){\times}10^{-3}$ and $1.3({\pm}0.5){\times}10^{-3}cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$, respectively. The mobility enhancement of OFET by light irradiation ($\lambda$ = 436 nm) supported the promising photo-controlled switching behavior for the drain current of the device.

A DC-DC converter is being widely used for various household appliances and for industry applications. The DC-CC converter is powered from single battery, and the voltage is varied according to the purpose. In the vehicle, various accessories whose electric power is different are being un4 Thus, plural number of DC-DC converter should be provided, so these situations bring complicated circuits, and accordingly, higher cost. Under such backgrounds, in this paper, we propose a novel buck-boost chopper circuit with simply configuration which can supply to two or more different output loads. The propose chewer circuit can control output voltages by controlling duty ratio by using typically two switching devices, which is composed by single boost-switch and single buck-switch. The output voltage can be controlled widely. A few modified circuits developed from the fundamental circuit are represented including the general multi-load circuit. And all this merits and appropriateness was proved by computer simulation and experience.
In this study, a series of highly swelling hydrogels based on sodium alginate (NaAlg) and polymethacrylamide (PMAM) was prepared through free radical polymerization. The graft copolymerization reaction was performed in a homogeneous medium and in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator and N,N'-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker. The crosslinked graft copolymer, alginate-graft-polymethacrylamide (Alg-gPMAM), was then partially hydrolyzed by NaOH solution to yield a hydrogel, hydrolyzed alginate-graft-polymethacrylamide (H-Alg-g-PMAM). During alkaline hydrolysis, the carboxamide groups of Alg-g-PMAM were converted into hydrophilic carboxylate anions. Either the Alg-g-PMAM or the H-Alg-g-PMAM was characterized by FTIR spectroscopy. The effects of the grafting variables (i.e., concentration of MBA, MAM, and APS) and the alkaline hydrolysis conditions (i.e., NaOH concentration, hydrolysis time, and temperature) were optimized systematically to achieve a hydrogel having the maximum swelling capacity. Measurements of the absorbency in various aqueous salt solutions indicated that the swelling capacity decreased upon increasing the ionic strength of the swelling medium. This behavior could be attributed to a charge screening effect for monovalent cations, as well as ionic cross-linking for multivalent cations. Because of the high swelling capacity in salt solutions, however, the hydrogels might be considered as anti-salt superabsorbents. The swelling behavior of the superabsorbing hydrogels was also measured in solutions having values of pH ranging from 1 to 13. Furthermore, the pH reversibility and on/off switching behavior, measured at pH 2.0 and 8.0, suggested that the synthesized hydrogels were excellent candidates for the controlled delivery of bioactive agents. Finally, we performed preliminary investigations of the swelling kinetics of the synthesized hydrogels at various particle sizes.
