We investigated the effects of the re-oxidation temperature and time on the positive temperature coefficient (PTC) of resistivity characteristics of Sm-doped $BaTiO_3$ sintered at $1200{\sim}1260^{\circ}C$ for 2 h in a reducing atmosphere (3% $H_2/N_2$), followed by re-oxidization processes in air, in which re-oxidization temperature and time were $600{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ and $1{\sim}10$h, respectively. The result reveals that Smdoped (Ba,Ca)$TiO_3$ ceramics fired in a reducing atmosphere exhibit low PTC characteristics, whereas the sample re-oxidized at $800^{\circ}C$ for 1 h in air exhibit pronounced PTC characteristics. The room-temperature resistivity and jumping characteristics of resistivity (${\rho}_{max}/{\rho}25^{\circ}C$) decrease with Sm contents. The PTC characteristics with reoxidization time at $800^{\circ}C$ have improved about $2{\sim}3$ orders of magnitude whereas differed according to the sintering temperature. The 0.7 at% Sm-doped (Ba,Ca)$TiO_3$ samples reveal the best PTC characteristics in the present range of formula and processes.

In this paper, we have studied the optical properties of $TiO_2$ thin film by adding the additives of PEG, PEO and both of them. As a variable amount of additives was added into $TiO_2$, the transmittance of $TiO_2$ thin film was decreased. When the 20 wt% of additives mixed with PEG and PEO was added into $TiO_2$, the transmittance of $TiO_2$ thin film showed higher than that of 10 wt% of additives mixed with PEG and PEO. As a results, we could conclude that the additives makes pore in $TiO_2$ thin film and it improves the transmittance of $TiO_2$ thin film.

A series of Zr,S co-doped $TiO_2$ were synthesized by a modified sol-gel method and characterized by various spectroscopic and analytical techniques. The presence of sulfur caused a red-shift in the absorption band of $TiO_2$. Co-doping of sulfur and zirconium (Zr-$TiO_2$-S) improves the surface properties such as surface area, pore volume, and pore diameter and also enhances the thermal stability of the anatase phase. The Zr-$TiO_2$-S systems are very effective visible-light active catalysts for the degradation of toluene. All reactions follow pseudo firstorder kinetics with the decomposition rate reaching as high as 77% within 4 h. The catalytic activity decreases in the following order: Zr-$TiO_2$-S >$TiO_2$-S >Zr-$TiO_2$>$TiO_2$$\approx$ P-25, demonstrating the synergic effect of codoping with zirconium and sulfur. When the comparison is made within the series of Zr-$TiO_2$-S, the catalytic performance is found to be a function of Zr-contents as follows: 3 wt % Zr-TiO2-S >0.5 wt % Zr-$TiO_2$-S> 5 wt % Zr-$TiO_2$-S >1 wt % Zr-$TiO_2$-S. Higher calcination temperature decreases the reactivity of Zr-$TiO_2$-S.
This study was conducted to research the formation and the color development of NiO-ZnO-Fe2O3-TiO2-SnO2 system for the purpose of synthesizing the spinel pigments which are stable at high temperature. After preparing ZnO-Fe2O3 as a basic composition, {{{{ chi }}NiO.(l-{{{{ chi }})ZnO.Fe2O3 system, {{{{ chi }}NiO.(l-{{{{ chi }})ZnO.TiO2 system, and {{{{ chi }}NiO.(l-{{{{ chi }})ZnO.SnO2 system were prepared with {{{{ chi }}=0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.7, 1 mole ratio respectively. The manufacturing was carried out at 128$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 minutes. The reflectance measurement and the X-ray analysis of these specimens were carried out and the results were summarized as follows. 1. In the specimens which included NiO, it was difficult for the spinel structure to be formed. 2. As increasing the contents of NiO and Fe2O3, all the groups which were yellow or green colored changed to brown. 3. NiO-ZnO-Fe2O3 system and NiO-ZnO-TiO2 system formed the spinel structure and the illmenite structure appeared in NiO-TiO2 system.
Oxidative TCE decomposition over $TiO_2$-supported single and complex metal oxide catalysts has been conducted using a continuous flow type fixed-bed reactor system. Different types of commercial $TiO_2$ were used for obtaining the supported catalysts via an incipient wetness technique. Among a variety of titanias and metal oxides used, a DT51D $TiO_2\;and\;CrO_x$ would be the respective promising support and active ingredient for the oxidative TCE decomposition. The $TiO_2-based\;CrO_x$ catalyst gave a significant dependence of the catalytic activity in TCE oxidation reaction on the metal loadings. The use of high $CrO_x$ contents for preparing $CrO_x/TiO_2$ catalysts might produce $Cr_2O_3$ crystallites on the surface of $TiO_2$, thereby decreasing catalytic performance in the oxidative decomposition at low reaction temperatures. Supported $CrO_x$-based bimetallic oxide systems offered a very useful approach to lower the $CrO_x$ amounts without any loss in their catalytic activity for the catalytic TCE oxidation and to minimize the formation of Cl-containing organic products in the course of the catalytic reaction.
The effects of Pb5Ge3O11 on the sinterbility and lattice variation of the semiconducting 0.15 mol% Y2O3 doped BaTiO3 have been investigated as functions of additive contents (from 0.25 mol% to 2.5 mol%) and sintering temperatures (from 110$0^{\circ}C$ to 130$0^{\circ}C$). As the amount of Pb5Ge3O11 increases, the sinterbility of BaTiO3 increases abruptly at around 115$0^{\circ}C$. During the sintering, the most of Pb+2 ions in additives penetrate into BaTiO3 lattices and Ge+4 ions present at grain boundaries. Therefore the c lattice of the BaTiO3 increases largely and then the tetragonality increases due to the diffusion of the Pb+2 ions.

The ($Sr_{1-x}Ca_x)TiO_3(SCT)$ thin films are deposited on Pt-coated electrode (Pt/TiN/SiO$_{2}$Si) using RF sputtering method with substitutional contents of Ca. The optimum conditions of RF power and Ar/O$_{2}$ ratio were 140(W) and 80/20, respectively. Deposition rate of SCT thin film was about $18.75{\AA}$/min. The dielectric constant was increased with increasing the substitutional contents of Ca, while it was decreased if the substitutional contents of Ca exceeded over $15[mol\%]$. The capacitance characteristics had a stable value within $\pm4[\%]$ in temperature ranges of $-80\~+90[^{\circ}C]$. All SCT thin films used in this study show the phenomena of dielectric relaxation with the increase of frequency, and the relaxation frequency is observed above 200[kHz].
Carbon/$TiO_2$ composites were prepared by $CCl_4$ solvent mixing method with different mixing ratios. Since the carbon layers derived from pitch on the $TiO_2$ particles were porous, the Carbon/$TiO_2$ composite series showed a good adsorptivity and photo decomposition activity. The BET surface area for the carbon layer in the sample increases to increasing with pitch contents. The SEM results present to the characterization of porous texture on the Carbon/$TiO_2$ composite and pitch distributions on the surfaces for all the materials used. From XRD data, a weak and broad carbon peak of graphene with pristine anatase peaks were observed in the X-ray diffraction patterns for the Carbon/$TiO_2$. The EDX spectra show the presence of C, O and S with strong Ti peaks. Most of these samples are richer in carbon and major Ti metal than any other elements. Finally, the excellent photocatalytic activity of Carbon/$TiO_2$ with slope relationship between relative concentration (C/$C_0$) of MB and t could be attributed to the homogeneous coated pitch on the external surface by $CCl_4$ solvent method.

Microwave dielectric properties of (1-x)ZnW $O_4$-xTi $O_2$ ceramic systems were investigated with calcination temperatures and Ti $O_2$ contents. The ZnW $O_4$ ceramic could be suitably sintered at 1075$^{\circ}C$ and showed the dielectric constant of 13.6, quality factor(Q$\times$$f_{O}$value) of 22,000 and temperature coefficient of resonant frequency($\tau$$_{f}$) of -65$\pm$2ppm/$^{\circ}C$. Increasing the amount of Ti $O_2$ in the range of 0.25 to 0.45 mol, the dielectric constant and $\tau$$_{f}$ increased due to the role of Ti $O_2$ but the quality factor decreased due to the increase of phase boundaries. The 0.7ZnW $O_4$-0.3Ti $O_2$ ceramic showed the dielectric constant of 19.8, qualify factor(Q$\times$$f_{0}$) of 20,000 and $\tau$$_{f}$ of -3$\pm$1ppm/$^{\circ}C$.>.EX>.>.>.
[ $TiO_{2}-ZrO_{2}$ ] powders were successfully synthesized by the sol-gel process using titanium iso-propoxide as a precursor. The amorphous $TiO_{2}$ particles, 70 nm in size, homogenously adhered to the surface of $ZrO_{2}$ the powders. After calcination at $450^{circ}C$, most of the $TiO_{2}$ powders appeared as an anatase type, whereas they changed to a rutile phase at $750^{circ}C$. For comparison of photocatalytic activity, $TiO_{2}-ZrO_{2}$ nano-sized powders calcined at $450^{circ}C,\;600^{circ}C,\;and\;750^{circ}C$ were used. In the $TiO_{2}-20wt\%$$ZrO_{2}$ powders calcined at $450^{circ}C$, there was excellent removal efficiency of Methyl Orange (MO). For the calcination temperature increased, $TiO_{2}ZrO_{2}$ nano-sized powders increased $ZrO_{2}$ contents showed the good photoactivity for the photooxidation of MO.
