Identify Hypoid gear whine noise for Deflection test and Transmission error measurement (하이포이드 기어의 소음원인규명을 위한 디플렉션 테스트와 전달에러 측정에 대한 연구)

  • Hypoid gears are widely used in rear drive and 4WD vehicle axles. Investigation of their sensitivity to deflections is one of the most important aspects of their design and optimization procedures. The deflection test is performed in the actual gear mounting using completely processed gear. This test should cover the full operating range of gear loads from no load to peak load. Under peak load the contact pattern should extend to the tooth boundaries without showing a concentration of the contact pattern at any point on the tooth surface. Transmission error is tested on an axle assembly triaxial real car load condition.

  • We presented design methodology of constant velocity joint for passenger cars using design of experiment. On the basis of contact normal stress of internal components of constant velocity joints, we performed a sensitivity analysis of several design parameters. And then we performed robust design and optimization design process. As a result, we could find robust design and also propose the optimized design. Presented design process would be very helpful for engineers who are suffer for new constant velocity joint design.

  • The surface potential variations are measured, according to the enhanced measuring speed and voltage sensitivity, using an active device, such as a field effect transistor $(FET)^{1-3}$. In this study, the surface potential was mapped in the patterned $SiO_2$ medium at room temperature. An improved FET-tip cantilever, which has a source, a drain, and an n- channel, was used in this study. The potential images were analyzed both in the contact mode and the non-contact mode, using only a pre-amplifier system instead of a lock-in the amplifier.

  • In this study, ultrasonic transducers for non-destructive contact measurement of whole fruits were developed. The design parameters for ultrasonic transducer such as acoustical impedance of fruits, kinds of piezoelectric materials, ultrasonic wave frequency, and transducer diameter were investigated. In order to match the acoustical impedance between piezoelectric material and fruit, various materials were fabricated and evaluated. Also to control the sensitivity and bandwidth of the ultrasonic transducer, various backing materials were fabricated and evaluated. Especially, the wear plate of the ultrasonic transducer was designed and fabricated considering the curvature of fruit. The central frequencies of two developed ultrasonic transducers were about 100 kHz and 200 kHz, respectively. With the developed ultrasonic transducers, non-destructive evaluation of the fruit will be possible.

  • According to 2013 fire statistical yearbook in the National Emergency Management Agency, the main cause of an electrical fire are classified to short circuit fault, overload fault, electric leakage, partial disconnection, and joint/contact badness. The occurrence factor of fire is electric arc or spark accompanied with electrical faults. Residual Current Protective Devices(RCDs) of high sensitivity type used at single phase (220V) cut off earth leakage and overload but the RCDs can not cut off electric arc or spark to be a main cause of electrical fire. To be improved on such problem, this thesis is proposed to a auxiliary control device for RCD cut off electric arc or spark.

  • We have fabricated a novel Vertical Trench Hall-Effect Device sensitive to the magnetic field parallel to the sensor chip surface for non-contact angular position sensing applications. The Vertical Trench Hall-Effect Device is built on SOI wafer which is produced by silicon direct bonding technology using bulk micromachining, where buried $SiO_2$ layer and surround trench define active device volume. Sensitivity up to 150 V/AT is measured.

  • Immdeiate hypersensitivity reactions to natural rubber and latex products pose a significant threat to patients, healthcare workers, and the general population. The purpose of this study is to summarize the clinical syomptoms of latex rubber allergy and provide guidelines for the management of latex allergy. Contact dermatitis from the nearly constant use of latex gloves during the workday has become a real problem for many health care professionals. Moreover, the patient who come in contact with these gloves or with other latex-containing equipment may show reactons. Far worse than skin problems is life-threatening anaphyaxis, which can be the first indication that a person has latex sensitivity. In conclusion, nurses shold know the latex precautions such as risk factors, adverse reactons to latex, emergent treatment and so on.

  • To increase the throughput of tip-based nanolithography (TBN), one approach is to use a large array of such tips working in parallel. It is important to maintain co-planarity between the tip array and the writing surface. A slight misalignment can cause large discrepancies of contact force and feature sizes. We report a capacitive proximity sensor built-in with the TBN array for leveling an arrayed polymer pen array. The device allows alignment between an array of writing tips and the writing substrate without contact and contamination. The angular sensitivity of the sensor is $0.05^{\circ}$ for an array with maximum tip-to-tip separation of 100 mm.

  • The inverse problem about the theoretical analysis of a drill string bending in a channel of an inclined bore-hole with localized geometrical imperfections is studied. The system of ordinary differential equations is first derived based on the theory of curvilinear flexible elastic rods. One can then use these equations to investigate the quasi-static effects of the drill string bending that may occur in the process of raising, lowering and rotation of the string inside the bore-hole. The method for numerical solution of the constructed equations is described. With the proposed method, the phenomenon of the drill column movement, its contact interaction with the bore-hole surface, and the frictional seizure can be simulated for different combinations of velocities, directions of rotation and axial motion of the string. Geometrical imperfections in the shape of localized smoothed breaks of the bore-hole axis line are considered. Some numerical examples are presented to illustrate the applicability of the method proposed.
