The effect of Recovery from Psychological Stress by Interior Landscape Spaces (실내조경에 의한 스트레스 해소효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of recovery from psychological stress when watching plants indoors. As an instrument of measurement of psychological stress, Galvanic Skin Resistance(GSR) has been used because it has been convenient to read a psychological sign without a medical sense and an instrument. In order to make the conditions of stress and recovery, video programs have been made, and especially, the video program of recovery has consisted of three types-- types 1 of watching plants in a botanical garden, type 2 of watching very bush street, and type 3 of closing eyes naturally. The two groups of normal and the mentally handicapped persons have been participated in this experiment to compare the effect of recovery. As the result of this test, the rate of stress relief has been maximumly effected by watching the video program of plants. Between the two groups the recovery of stress has had better effects on the mentally handicapped than the normal one. And also it shows that the circumstances of emotional refinement is led by having plants in indoor. The result of this test has been turned out to be highly useful. It is desirable that a indoor worker, staying for a long time, contact with plants visually to keep healthy mental conditions. This study suggests that the surrounding conditions or the settings of circumstances play an important role for the emotional refinement of the groups of mentally han야capped persons as well as the normal person.

Influence of Trunk Control Using Pelvic Movements upon the Foot Pressure in Patients with Hemiplegia (골반동작을 이용한 체간조절이 편마비 환자의 족저압에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine effect of trunk control using pelvic movements upon the foot pressure in patients with hemiplegia. Methods: Twelve males with hemiplegia were the procedure executed turnk control using pelvic movements. The foot pressure were measured using Parotec-system. Results: The data were analysed with paired t-test. First, there was a significant increase in external and internal sensors of dynamic foot pressure change of the hindfoot before and after therapy. Also there was significant increase in hallux (p<0.05). Second, there was a significant increase of affected side in support phase(p<0.05) and decreased of affected side in overlapping phase(p<0.05). Third, there was a significant increase in foot floor contact time and impulse pressure rate between affected and non affected side(p<0.05). Conclusion: The trunk control with pelvic movement had an significant effect on the legs by increase activities of hip flexors and abductors. Also had an effect on ankle dorsiflexion and plantar flexor by biomechanical movement.

Effect of Plant Based Essential Oil on Immune Response of Silkworm, Antheraea assama Westwood (Lepidoptera: Saturniidae)

  • Botanicals have been regarded as sustainable solution of pest control because of their nominal effect on nontarget pest, biodegradability and other environment friendly properties. However, study on impact of botanicals against beneficial insects is less. In this investigation effort has been made to study the effect of essential oils of Ocimum sanctum, Ocimum gratissimum and Ageratum conyzoides against non-mulberry silkworm Antheraea assama in terms of percent mortality, total haemocyte count (THC) and phenol oxidase (PO) enzyme activity. After application of essential oil of the plants by contact residual film technique, age dependent decrease of percent mortality was recorded. Topical treatment of oil at higher dosages ($1{\mu}lg^{-1}$ and $0.5{\mu}lg^{-1}$) caused 100% mortality of late instar larvae at 24 hour but the lowest dose ($0.25{\mu}lg^{-1}$) did not cause any mortality till 48 hour of treatment. Initial increase of total haemocyte count (THC) was recorded at early hours of treatment (0.25 hour) at all dosages (1, 0.5, $0.25{\mu}lg^{-1}$) after topical treatment. A dose dependent increase was observed in phenol oxidase enzyme activity and this might indicate ability of the essential oils to cause induction of immune response in Antheraea assama larvae.

  • Knowledge of organic micropollutant transfers in barrier seal materials from waste storage facilities is limited to volatile organic compounds and phenolic compounds at ambient temperature. This study focused on the sorption of chlorophenols (CPs) from various geotextiles from clay geosynthetics under the influence of temperature. Also to study the impact of the polarity or the amount of CPs adsorbed on geotextiles with the partition coefficient. The effect of various parameters such as contact time, effect of temperature, initial CPs concentration and adsorbent dosage has been carried out in this study. The result obtained is non-linear and the data was calculated for affinity with Freundlich isotherm model. An important observation is that the amount of CPs sorbed on geotextiles increases with a growing number of chlorine atoms, ie increases with the partition coefficient (log Kow). During this study, a decrease in adsorbent properties was observed with the rise in temperature from 23℃ to 55℃. The partitioning coefficients for CPs examined range are from 2.4 (R2 = 0.86) to 8.4 mL/g (R2 = 0.90). Among the CPs studied, the highest adsorbed quantity was observed for pentachlorophenol with 0.052 g/g at 23℃, this quantity will decrease with the increase in temperature.

Effect on Metal Guard Ring in Breakdown Characteristics of SiC Schottky Barrier Diode (금속 가드 링이 SiC 쇼트키 다이오드의 항복전압에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to fabricate a high breakdown SiC-SBD (Schottky barrier diode), we investigate an effect on metal guard ring (MGR) in breakdown characteristics of the SiC-SBD. The breakdown characteristics of MGR-type SiC-SBD is significantly dependent on both the guard ring metal and the alloying time of guard ring metal. The breakdown characteristics of MGR-type SiC-SBDs are essentially improved as the alloying time of guard ring metal is increased. The SiC-SBD without MGR shows less than 200 V breakdown voltage, while the SiC-SBD with Al MGR shows approximately 700 V breakdown voltage. The improvement in breakdown characteristics is attributed to the field edge termination effect by the MGR, which is similar to an implanted guard ring-type SiC-SBD. There are two breakdown origins in the MGR-type SiC-SBD. One is due to a crystal defects, such as micropipes and stacking faults, in the Epi-layers and the SiC substrate, and occurs at a lower electric field. The other is due to the destruction of guard ring metal, which occurs at a higher electric field. The demolition of guard ring metal is due to the electric field concentration at an edge of Schottky contact metal.

  • It is very important that get polishing characteristic that to be stable that accomplish planarization of high efficiency in chemical mechanical polishing, and there is repeatability Groove of pad causes much effects in flow of slurry among various factors that influence in polishing characteristic, is expected to cause change of lubrication state and polishing characteristic in contact between wafer and pad. Therefore, divided factors of pad groove by groove pattern, groove profile, groove dimensions. This research wishes to study effect that dimension of pad groove gets in polishing performance. When changed dimension (width, depth, pitch of groove) of groove, measured change of removal rate and friction force. According as groove dimension changes, could confirm that removal rate and friction force change. While result of this experiment studies effect of pad groove in CMP, it is expected to become small help.

  • Herein, we report the fabrication of low-voltage N-type organic field-effect transistors by using high capacitance fluorinated polymer gate dielectrics such as P(VDF-TrFE), P(VDF-TrFE-CTFE), and P(VDF-TrFE-CFE). Electron-withdrawing functional groups in PVDF-based polymers typically cause the depletion of negative charge carriers and a high contact resistance in N-channel organic semiconductors. Therefore, we incorporated intermediate layers of a low-k polymerto prevent the formation of a direct interface between PVDF-based gate insulators and the semiconducting active layer. Consequently, electron depletion is inhibited, and the high charge resistance between the semiconductor and source/drain electrodes is remarkably improved by the in corporation of solution-processed charge injection layers.

  • An inviscid axisymmetric model capable of predicting droplet bouncing and the detailed pre-impact motion, influenced by the ambient pressure, has been developed using boundary element method (BEM). Because most droplet impact simulations of previous studies assumed that a droplet was already in contact with the impacting substrate at the simulation start, the previous simulations could not accurately describe the effect of the gas compressed between a failing droplet and the impacting substrate. To properly account for the surrounding gas effect, an effect is made to release a droplet from a certain height. High gas pressures are computationally observed in the region between the droplet and the impact surface at instances just prior to impact. The current simulation shows that the droplet retains its spherical shape when the surface tension energy is dominant over the dissipative energy. When increasing the Weber number, the droplet surface structure is highly deformed due to the appearance of the capillary waves and, consequently, a pyramidal surface structure is formed; this phenomenon was verified with our experiment. Parametric studies using our model include the pre-impact behavior which varies as a function of the Weber number and the surrounding gas pressure.

  • The important problem in high speed spindle is to reduce and minimize the thermal effect by motor and bearing. This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis for a high speed spindle with and without cooling at the rear part, considering the viscosity and the flow rate of cooling oil. A high speed spindle is composed of angular contact ceramic ball bearings, high speed built-in motor, oil jacket cooling and so on. The thermal analyses of high speed spindle need to minimize the thermal effect and maximize the cooling effect and they are carried out under the various cooling conditions. Heat generations of the bearing and the high speed motor are estimated from the theoretical and experimental data. This result can be applied to the design and manufacture of a high speed motor spindle.

  • This research investigated the factors that effect on the trust and loyalty in on-line shopping mall and analyzed a structural relationship of these variables. The variables are service quality, information quality of on-line WOM(afternote), reputation of on-line shopping mall. The Instrument dimensions of service quality are tangibles, responsiveness, assurance, diversity goods and price fairness. The Instrument dimensions of information quality of on-line WOM(afternote) are usefulness, abundance, accuracy and specialty. The Instrument dimensions of reputation of on-line shopping mall are cognizance and comment. The results by LISREL are as follows : There are 7 factors that effects on trust and loyalty. These are tangibles, responsiveness, assurance and price fairness of instrument dimensions of service quality, usefulness, specialty of instrument dimensions of information quality of on-line WOM, cognizance of the Instrument dimensions of reputation of on-line shopping mall. Specially, there are significant point that usefulness and specialty of afternote which can contact easily in on-line shopping mall effect on the trust and loyalty in on-line shopping mall.
