The importance of LCC analysis has been enlarged. Also, it would be necessary to computerize LCC analysis for accurate and logical analysis of LCC. In other papers, they showed LCC analysis model but the study of database development which could be applied in LCC analysis have been undeveloped. As a result, the final goal of this study is to develope LCC database. And this progress is devided 4 steps as design, construction, maintenance and disposal and derived the detailed cost item in the progresses. Futhermore, it would be possible to develope cost DB, fluent DB, general DB, building section DB, material DB and to propose database which would be applied in accurate and logical analysis of LCC.
The underground research tunnel, which is under construction in KAERI for the validation of HLW disposal system, is excavated in a granite rock by drill&blasting. In order not to disturb the operation at the research facilities including Hanara reactor by the blasting for the excavation of $6m{\times}6m$ tunnel, a test blasting at the site was performed. Using the vibration equation derived from the test blasting, it was possible to predict the vibration at different locations at KAERI and to conclude that the blasting design would meet the design criteria at the major facilities in KAERI. The noise and vibration generated by the main blasting were continuously measured. In the case of vibration, the measured values were lower than the predicted one from the vibration equation. It is, therefore, concluded that the influence of blasting work for the construction of 280m long research tunnel on the major facilities in KAERIl would be insignificant.

In the stage of conceptual design for the construction and operation of the geologic repository for radioactive wastes, it is important to consider a repository ventilation system which serves the repository working environment, hygiene & safety of the public at large, and will allow safe maintenance like moisture content elimination in repository for the duration of the repositories life, construction/operation/closure, also allowing safe waste transportation and emplacement. This paper describes the possible ventilation system design criteria and requirements for the prospective Korean radioactive waste repositories with emphasis on the underground rock cavity disposal method in the both cases of low & medium-level and high-level wastes. It was found that the most important concept is separate ventilation systems for the construction (development) and waste emplacement (storage) activities. In addition, ventilation network system modeling, natural ventilation, ventilation monitoring systems & real time ventilation simulation, and fire simulation & emergency system in the repository are briefly discussed.
This study reviewed the current status and problems of sewerage system in Korea and then proposed possible methods to correct the problems. Also, evaluation of future development in sewerage system is included. It can be summarized as follows : 1. Investment in sewerage system is relatively low . 0.23% of GNP, Considering that the investment portion is 0.35% in OECD and 0.63% in Japan, it should be increased further. 2. The reasons wily the investment in sewerage system is low can be ' (1) Low priority is given to the investment in sewerage system. Local government builds and operates its own wastewater treatment plant. Local government as well as residents prefer to invest their money in roadwork, housing and parks to in wastewater treatment facilities because of greater investment effects. (2) Besides capital investment, more maintenance cost is needed for sewerage system. Proper operation of wastewater treatment facilities requires a well-trained operator. Because of public conception that operation of wastewater treatment facility is a dirty job, it is difficult to find a well-trained operator. (3) It is difficult to estimate the effect of sewerage system (4) Cost required to build and maintain wastewater treatment facility should be paid by people, who benefit from the facility. People to benefit are sometimes different from people to pay. 3. Advanced treatment is necessary to protect the bay aura and raw water source as well as to prevent eutrophication of lakes and ponds. 4. Wastewater treatment facility were mainly build in big cities during the decade of 1980. Followings should be solved first to expand the facilities. (1) Rapid repair and construction of sewer. (2) Technical development of wastewater treatment . Prevention of efficient and economical wastewater . Development of efficient and economical wastewater treatment techniques . Development of high-efficiency treatment using bioreactor . Reuse of wastewater treatment plant effluent (3) Sludge treatment and disposal . Composting of sludge cakes . Development of techniques to reduce the volume of sludge cake : incineration and reuse of sludge ash and slag. (4) Utilization of wastewater treatment facilities . Construction of community parks or sports families(ie, on the tops of the covered aeration tanks and sedimention tanks) Construction of wastewater treatment facilities under ground and of parking facilities and community parks above ground. (5) Education of wastewater treatment personal.

Steel slag has the nature to hydrate and expand when in contact with non-reacting CaO and water, and thus can be used only in limited scope for landfill disposal as well as for recycling as civil construction aggregates. In order to use such steel slags more efficiently, the applicability of steel slag as sand mat alternative material was reviewed. In general, sand mat is used in soft ground surface reinforcement method and horizontal drain method, and is installed simultaneously with soft ground vertical drain method. Therefore in this study steel slag designing method and application standard etc were examined to recycle steel slag as sand mat alternative material, and laboratory soil test and model test were done. Test results indicated that the designing method and application standard meet various environment and quality standards, meaning that steel slag can be utilized as sand mat alternative material, and analysis of slag mat bearing capacity also indicated that use of steel slag produces double or more bearing capacity compared with existing sand mat.
Usage of the inorganic floor finishing material can be advantageous to overcome some problems of traditional organic-based floor finishing material used for hazardous material storage facilities. A spark can be produced by physical impact between the flooring and the flooring disposal equipment while removing the existing flooring. In order to prevent a fire hazard, which may be caused the spark, it is feasible that a construction can be implemented without removing the existing flooring. Moreover, the top coating material containing an antistatic agent is effective to prevent secondary damage caused by static electricity after finishing the construction of the flooring. Therefore, the inorganic floor finishing material of the this study is expected to be beneficial for safety management and economical aspect for inspectors.
Accelerators are used to speed up the construction by accelerating the setting time which helps in early removal of formwork thus leading to faster construction rate. Admixtures are used in mortar and concrete during or after mixing to improve certain properties of material which cannot be achieved in conventional cement mortar and concrete. The various industrial by products make nuisance and are hazardous to ecosystem as well. These wastes can be used in the construction industries to reduce the consumption of cement/aggregates, cost; and save the energy and environment by utilising waste and eliminate their disposal problem as well. The effect of calcium nitrate and triethanolamine (TEA) as accelerators and marble powder (MP) as waste material on the various properties of cement paste and mortar has been studied in the present work. The replacement ratio of MP was 0-10% @ 2.5% by weight of cement. The addition of calcium nitrate was 0% and 1%; and variation of addition of TEA was 0-0.1@ 0.025% and 0.1-1.0@ 0.1% by weight of cement. On the basis of setting time, some mix proportions were selected and further investigated. Setting time and soundness of cement paste; compressive strength and microstructure of mortar mix of selected mix proportions were studied experimentally at 3, 7 and 28 days aging. Results showed that use of MP, calcium nitrate, TEA and their combination reduced setting time of cement paste for all the mixes. Addition of calcium nitrate increased the compressive strength at all curing ages while MP and TEA decreased the compressive strength. The mechanism of additives was discussed through scanning electron microscope (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) analysis of the specimens.

Majority of the plastic produced each year is being disposed in land after single-use, which becomes waste and takes up a lot of storage space. Therefore, there is an urgent need to find alternative solutions instead of disposal. Recycling and reusing the PET plastic waste as aggregate replacement and fiber in concrete production can be one of the eco- friendly methods as there is a great demand for concrete around the world, especially in developing countries by raising human awareness of the environment, the economy, and Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Self-compacting concrete (SCC) is a key development in concrete technology that offers a number of attractive features over traditional concrete applications. Recently, in order to improve its durability and prevent such plastics from directly contacting the environment, various kinds of plastics have been added. This review article summarizes the latest evident on the performance of SCC containing recycled PET as eco-friendly aggregates and fiber. Moreover, it highlights the influence of substitution content, shape, length, and size on the fresh and properties of SCC incorporating PET plastic. Based on the findings of the articles that were reviewed for this study, it is observed that SCC made of PET plastic (PETSCC) can be employed in construction era owing to its acceptable mechanical and fresh properties. On the other hand, it is concluded that owing to the lightweight nature of plastic aggregate, Reusing PET waste in the construction application is an effective approach to reduces the earthquake risk of a building.

The purpose of this research is to select an appropriate location of water pollution prevention facilities(WPPF) through evaluating location decision factor using environmental geographic information system. To do that, this research reviewed the current location policies of WPPFs and its related researches. And this paper builds water pollutant statistical databases, integrated them with the geographic information system of the administrative areas where water pollutants are generated, and gears it with statistical programs such as correlation and regression analysis in order to figure out the pollution factors which influence on the location decision of WPPF on the real time base. The volume of discharge of industrial wastewater is one of the most important water pollutants on the location decision of WPPF. And the number of industrial facilities also was the most important location decision factor in constructing the WPPFs. In addition, this paper noted that the number of population in each area makes a role to restraint the construction of WPPF. It identified that the disposal facility in Nackdong river upper-middle watersheds was insufficient in treating the livestock pollutants. Therefore, Gyeongbuk should concentrate on the construction of disposal facilities of livestock pollutant in these areas. The results of this research will contribute to decide what kinds of WPPF should be constructed on which watershed in Nackdong River, and to forecast the future water quality of each watershed.

As many stakeholders are taking part in the Housing Redevelopment Project, their opinion mediation is considering very important issues. Thus disputes on projects are inevitable due to complexity of interest. To effectively progress the project, this paper analyze the risk factors by phase in implementation phase that the association participates in person. We identify 50 of risk factors in implementation phase by reviewing and analyzing related studies and actual cases of disputes, then we present 26 of risk factors through experts interview. Also, we calculate weights of risk factors by using AHP for quantitatively analyzing them and present final weights and priorities of risk factors by summing weights of risk factors by phase. In results, it is found that 'the inappropriateness of the Management Disposal Plan' in management disposal plan phase and 'the inappropriateness of the Project Implementation Plan' are the most significant risk factors. To maximize the utilization of risk factors analyzed, we present the checklists that can be aware of these risks in advance and prevent these risks. Based on these findings, if risk factors in implementation phase are managed actively, the housing redevelopment project will be performed more effectively.
