  • Recently, interest in reducing cement has been growing. Hwangto, an eco-friendly material, has advantages such as air purification effect and humidity control, but when used, accidents such as form collapse may occur due to low strength and reduced durability. In order to quantitatively evaluate the timing of mold demolding, we would like to evaluate the timing of mold demolding through correlation with compressive strength using ultrasonic pulse velocity. As a result, the time at which 5 MPa is developed is after 20 hours for the test specimen of W/B 41 , in the case of W/B 33, NC33 and HTC33-15 were equally expressed at 12 hours, and HTC33-30 was expressed at 16 hours.

  • A floating floor generally consists of mortar bed separated from the structural RC slab by a continuous resilient layer. It is known that the floating floors are a type of vibration-isolation system to improve the impact sound insulation performance. However, some researchers have demonstrated that the amplification of vibration response at a specific range of frequencies results in an increase in the impact sound level. This study carried out the forced vibration tests to obtain the frequency response function (FRF) of a floating floor compared with a bare RC slab. Test results shows that the additional peak occur in vibrational spectrum of the floating floor except natural vibration modes of the bare RC slab. This is because the relatively flexible resilient material and mass of the mortar bed offer an additional degree of freedom in the structural system. Therefore, it could be efficient for reduction of floor impact vibration and noise to control the additional mode frequency and response of floating floors.

  • For reusable Temporary Structure Elements such as scaffolding and temporary supports, quality control tasks are currently carried out through visual inspections by quality management workers and subjective judgments. Regarding quality tests based on the KOSHA(Korea Occupational Safety & Health Agency) system, only three pieces are sampled regardless of the quantity received at the site. On the other hand, although there is ongoing technological research on an automatic quality inspection of temporary structure elements, relevant stakeholders' introduction of such systems is hindered by issues such as cost. Therefore, this study aims to review a business model for introducing a quantitative and automated quality inspection system for reusable temporary structure elements. The study intends to propose application methods for each component according to a template and establish the business model by conducting interviews and collecting basic data for each template component. The results of this research are expected to serve as a foundation for implementation and expanding the adoption of quality management for temporary structure elements using smart technologies in the future.

  • In the context of urban autonomous driving, where various types of traffic lights are encountered, traffic light recognition technology is of paramount importance. We have designed a high-performance traffic light recognition module tailored to scenarios encountered in domestic urban driving and devised a dataset construction process. In this paper, we focus on minimizing the camera's dependency to enhance traffic light recognition performance. The camera is used solely to distinguish the color information of traffic lights, while accurate location information of the traffic lights is obtained through localization and a map. Based on the information from these components, camera RoIs (Region of Interest) are extracted and transmitted to the embedded board. The transmitted images are then sent back to the main system for autonomous driving control. The processing time for one traffic light RoI averages 43.2 ms. We achieve processing times of average 93.4 ms through batch inference to meet real-time requirements. Additionally, we design a data construction process for collecting, refining, and storing traffic light datasets, including semi-annotation-based corrections.

  • In recent years, drones are expanding their use as highly efficient smart support equipment in all industries, including military as well as urban engineering planning and design, construction, In particular, the advancement of drones and GNSS(global navigational satellite system) positioning services, the high efficiency of visible color image RGB sensors, and various selective convergence between thermal infrared sensors and lidar scanning visibility sensors are becoming a key source of spatial information acquisition in the field of construction information modeling(BIM) and 3D digital twin modeling. This study seeks to improve the efficiency of field and office works in drone aerial photography in 3D modeling of urban facilities. For these, after acquiring the 3D location of the drone aerial photography point in two positioning modes, standard GNSS surveying and GNSS RTK precise positioning, the 3D productions were reproduced through the SfM(structure from motion) image analysis process, and the accuracy and efficiency of the work process were compared and considered. As a result of the study, when GNSS RTK precision positioning (VRS ; virtual reference service) is applied during outdoor filming, it was possible to reproduce and demonstrate the effectiveness of the digital twin modeling within the allowable range by omitting the GNSS surveying for additional ground control points and geo-tagging for the real-world model conversion of 3D image analysis results in image processing.

  • The Korean Government introduced a cultural heritage supervision system in January 2010 to control quality and to prevent poor construction. However, cultural heritage related constructions that require supervision, a scope of supervision, supervision cost and placement of supervisors have not been standardized yet. For this reason, standards of supervision for repair works of cultural heritage that reflect the characteristics of small-scale repair works and restoration of cultural heritage are required. Accordingly, this study has suggested standards of supervision works and cost by analyzing the average construction period that is suitable for the characteristics of cultural heritage repair works. In other words, this study has suggested standards of full-time supervision costs by applying the fixed amount-added method (adding direct labor cost, direct expenses, overhead expenses, engineering fee, charges for additional works and VAT) which is the same as the method of calculating supervision costs for public construction projects because a supervisor has to work full time at a construction site to perform supervision if the project is a mid/large-scale cultural heritage repair work. Also, this study has suggested standards of part-time supervision costs for a small-scale cultural heritage repair work and the ways of supervising the construction projects by visiting the project site on important occasions. According to the result of the analysis by applying the forgoing standards of supervision costs for cultural heritage, a full-time supervision cost for cultural heritage repair works is approximately 98% compared to the construction supervision of a public construction project, and a part-time supervision is approximately 158% compared to architectural construction supervision. It is expected that the valuable cultural heritage of Korea will be preserved by controlling quality of cultural heritage repair works through the application of this study result - the standards of supervision costs for cultural heritage repair works - to an actual project.

  • Now, safety assurance in construction sites should be accomplished by its own organization rather than control of the code or government. It is believed that the safety assurance can be considerably improved by a lecture or an education using the existing theories or literatures up to now, but it is thought that fundamental safety assurance we not able to be accomplished without developing safety devices '||'&'||' equipment or taking fundamental measures, based on the result analyzed from workers behaviors. There are various behaviors of the workers showed in construction site, but only tests for hammerusing works such as form, re-bar, stone workers directly related to the grip strength are mainly performed, investigated and measured here for the study. The above works are similar to power grip, 7th picture on seven items which are categorized for hand grip types(Ammermin 1956 ; Jones ; Kobrick 1958). Measurements of grip strength are commonly taken in anthropometric surveys. They are easy to administer but unfortunately it is rather dubious whether they yield any data that are of interest to the engineer. Very fewer controls of tools are grasped and squeesed studies showed very little overall correlation between grip strength and other measures of bodily strength (Laubach, Kromer, and Thordsen 1972), but hammer-using work which is practically progressed in construction site are mainly influenced with grip strength. According to the investigation on work measurement, it is shown that 77% of form worker are using hammer to be related to grip strength. In this study, it is particularly noticed that wearing safety gloves in construction site is required for workers safety but 20% difference between grip strength with safety gloves and without ones are commonly neglected in the site(Fig. 1). Nevertheless, safety operation with consideration of the above 20% difference is not considered in the construction site. Factors of age, kinds of work, working time, with or without safety gloves are in vestigated '||'&'||' collected at the sites for this study. Test, not at each working hour but at 14 : 00 when the almost all of the workers think the most tired, resulting from the questionaires, also when it is shown on the research report has been performed and compared for main kinds of works : form '||'&'||' re-bar work. Tests were performed with both left SE rightand of the workers simultaneously in construction site using Rand Dynamometer(Model 78010, Lafayette Instrument Co., Indiana, U.S.A) by reading grip strength on the gauge while they are pulling, and then by interviewing on their ages, works, experiences and etc., directly. The above tests have been performed for the dates of 15th march-26th May '95 with consideration of site condition. And even if various factors of ambient temperature on the testing date, working condition, individual worker's habit and worker's condition of the previous ate are concerned with the study. Those are considered as constants in this study. Samples are formwork 53, rebar 62, electrician 5, plumber 4, welding 1 from D construction Co., Ltd, ; formwork 12, re-bar 5, electrician 2, from S construction Co., Ltd, , formwork 78, re-bar 18, plumber 31, electrician 13, labor 48, plumber 31, plasterer 15, concrete placer 6, water proof worker 3, maisony 5 from B construction Co., Ltd. As In the previously mentioned, main aspect to be investigated in this study will be from '||'&'||' re-bar work because grip strength will be directly applied to these two kinds of works ; form '||'&'||' re-bar work, eventhough there are total 405 samples taken. It is thought that a frequency of accident occurrence will be mainly two work postures "looking up '||'&'||' looking down" to be mainly sorted, but this factor is not clarified in this study because It will be needed a lot of work more. Tests has been done at possible large scale of horizontally work-extended sites within one hour in order to prevent or decrease errors '||'&'||' discrepancies from time lag of the test. Additionally, the statistical package computer program SPSS PC+has been used for the study.

  • Concrete filled tube (CFT) columns, which consist of a steel tube filled with concrete, combine the benefits of the two materials. The steel tube provides a confining pressure to the concrete, while the local buckling of steel plate can be prevented by the concrete core. CFT columns also have a high fire resistance due to the heat storage effect of concrete under fire. For this reason, it is possible to develop CFT columns without fire protection measures. CFT columns without fire protection have many advantages, including quality control, cost reduction, better space efficiency and a shorter construction period. Due to these advantages, studies on the development of CFT columns without fire protection measures have been performed. However, CFT columns lose their bearing capacity under fire because the steel tube is exposed to the outside. As a result, the structure is collapsed, causing significant damage. In this research, we made a CFT column using high strength concrete (100 MPa) and high strength steel (800 MPa). We use steel fiber and nylon fiber with concrete to provide fire resistance. We perform the fresh concrete experiment and investigate the fire resistance of the CFT column (${\Box}400{\times}400{\times}15{\times}3000mm$) under loading. To investigate the effect of steel fiber on increasing fire resistance, we compare the fire resistance time according to the steel fiber. Through the test, it was found that the CFT specimen with steel fiber had better fire resistance performance than other cases.

  • In this study, the adjustment range of mixture factor with replacement mineral admixture was reviewed to secure the mixture change data of high volume concrete compared to general concrete. When changing the concrete mix to high volume concrete within the universal concrete mixing, the adjustment range of mixture to ensure optimum quality is as follows. Unit-water content is $20{\sim}30kg/m^3$ downward. Fine aggregate ratio dropped by approximately 1% when W/B was reduced by 5%, and it is reduced by approximately 0.12% when there is a 5% increase in the total replacement rate. When the FA replacement rate was increased by 5%, the AE agent was approximately 20% to 30% higher compared with the conventional one. When the FA and BS replacement rate rose by 5%, W/B was reduced by about 1 to 4%.

  • The construction progress control is very important because there are many unexpected factors affecting time schedule delay and cost overruns. A complicated measure including item quantity and inherent time and costs is used to monitor the progress. Another element to be considered is a productivity, which is cost effectiveness because productivity is primarily measured by the costs. Productivity is stated as constant in-place value divided by inputs such as worker-hour. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the productivity of structural formwork using a 3D BIM. In order to achieve the research objective, an integrated model of a BIM with a daily foreman's report is developed. The quantities being extracted from a 3D model and information are integrated with manpower utilized. The developed model is applied to a case project to measure and analyze the productivity in terms of individual building and work crew team. The results are discussed and further research topics will be addressed.
