This paper presents the safety performance of Korean domestic construction companies including the characteristic and current status of safety management actions of the firms. Safety performance both at the head office and job sites of each construction companies, which are divided four groups by construction capacity ranking, are investigated. General recognition that there is a wide difference of safety performance among domestic construction companies by construction capacity ranking was confirmed by comparing the safety performance at the head office and the job sites of the companies under the study. Data analysis shows that the safety performance of the group I and II has the largest difference, and this difference of the group II and III and group III and IV are gradually decreased, respectively. This paper presents the safety performance improvement measures, which is applicable to safety management components consisting of both the head office and job sites safety management systems of each group (e.g., I, II, III and IV) suffering the lack of safety performance.

There are big differences between developed countries and Korea regarding to the circumstances of electrical installation construction. In other words, Korea, in spite of its small market size, has large pools of electrical construction companies or associated workers, and there are a lot of poorly electrical construction companies in domestically. Thus, in reality, it is difficult to invest in technical development to enhance Korea's technical level on electrical installation and companies are likely to construct as occasion demands instead of constructing in a technical manner. Therefore, the government needs to develop a standard specification as a guideline for stable, economical and technical electrical installation construction. With this standard specification, almost all electrical construction companies could practically use it and also could guarantee their construction quality as well. It is important to induce small companies to utilize the standard specification to secure their construction excellent quality so that the life of the nation, individual's properties and national properties could be well protected.

Project managers play a key role in cost, time, and quality of a project. Selection of an appropriate project manager, therefore, is considered as one of the most important decisions in any construction project. It should be noted that most important decision makings are carried out by the project manager throughout the project. Traditionally, project manager selection in construction companies in Iran is through organizing an interview with candidates and selecting the most appropriate choice in accordance with the capabilities, potentials and individual specifications coupled with the requirements of the project. In the same direction, organizing interview on selection of appropriate candidate is usually carried out by senior managers of companies. Determination of the most important criteria for selection of project managers and also identification of significance coefficient of each criterion can highly help senior managers of companies to make sound selection decisions. In this paper, a numerical model has been considered for determination of significance of each criterion, details of which are submitted for selection of project manager in Iranian petrochemical, oil and gas sector companies. For this reason, all criteria- considered by senior managers of the companies under study- are first determined. Then, information obtained through 38 interviews, conducted by senior managers of the mentioned companies while selecting project manager, is analyzed. Significant coefficient of each criterion is calculated through the accumulated data using fuzzy curves method.

The need of constructing high-tech facilities is one of the important issues concerning the competitiveness by the high-tech companies. It, simultaneously, offers a magnificent opportunity for construction participants. Nevertheless, the high-tech construction is experience-based, resulting in little related construction knowledge that has been statistically analyzed and documented. This study measures and confers with the profit patterns causing the disparity between the traditional and high-tech construction. The database was the result of collecting detailed information of 65 construction projects from eight construction companies, including detailed records of over 20 main construction operations in each project. All of these were performed during the recent 10 years and encompassed in the project types of the high-tech construction, residential building, and commercial building. Rendering suggestions regarding profit management and expecting to economize cost of learning from inexperience while extending to the high-tech construction were both presented.

건설업 특성상 공사비용의 약 $40{\sim}60%$가 자재의 구매 및 조달에 투자되는 만큼 B2B e-Marketplace를 통한 건설자재 구매는 최적의 비용과 기존 Off-line에서 낭비된 시간과 절차를 단축 할 수 있다는 점에서 건설기업의 큰 관심을 끌고 있다. 건설 B2B e-Marketplace는 중소 건자재 제조회사 및 중소 건설기업 모두에게 비즈니스 범위를 넓혀 줌으로써 대기업 위주의 건설시장에 활력을 일으킬 수 있다. 그러나 현재 국내의 어떤 산업을 막론하고 B2B e-Marketplace는 기대 이하의 저조한 시장 참여로 심각한 수준에 이르고 있다. 건설업에서도 초기에 보였던 건자재 분야 B2Be-Marketplace의 낙관적 전망은 특정 대기업을 제외하고는 실질적인 이익이나 운영 실적면에서 뚜렷하게 성과를 나타나지 못하고 있다. 본 연구는 건설 B2B e-Marketplace의 운영 현황을 사례조사를 통해 파악한다.

As Korea's economy is entering a period of gradual growth, rate of growth on the construction market is becoming slow like that in developed countries. Remodeling construction market will be gradually expanded due to change in the social environment and diversification of individual demand. This study aims to promote the status of building equipment field with corresponding strategies based on the current situation that the importance of building equipment field is emphasized. Although it is desirable that building equipment construction companies lead remodeling construction, the building equipment part of general construction companies take the important role may be a advisable way, because the technology of building equipment construction companies is a little insufficient. Though building equipment field has become more important, the number of credits and professor of the field is still small than other fields of architectural engineering. More practical curriculums are necessary to meet the expectation of companies. Mechanical part of building equipment construction does not have independent law otherwise the other parts of building equipment construction. Establishing the independent law is urgent to promote the remodeling construction technology.

본 논문은 시기별 국내 건설경기 변화와 해외건설수주 간의 관계성을 벡터오차수정모형을 통해 비교분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 분석결과 IMF 외환위기 이후에는 주거용 건설경기가 하락할 경우에만, 해외건설시장 진출이 더욱 활발히 나타나는 것으로 확인되었다. 게다가 IMF 외환이기 이전보다 외환위기 이후에는 국내 주거용 건설경기 변화에 즉각적으로 반응하여 해외건설시장 진출 규모가 확대되는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 현상은 국내 건설업체들의 사업 포트폴리오 상 주거용 건설경기에 매우 민감하게 반응할 수밖에 없음에 기인한다. 즉 국내 주택시장 침체는 국내 건설업체의 경영상태에 심각한 영향을 미치게 되고, 이를 긴급히 타개하기 위하여 해외건설시장 진출 규모를 확대한 것으로 판단된다. 본 연구에서 분석을 통해 확인한 바와 같이 주택경기 침체에 따른 건설업체 경영상태 악화를 개선하기 위하여 해외건설시장 진출의 외연적확대는 오히려 건설업체 경영상태를 더욱더 악화시키는 결과를 초래한 것이다. 이에 따라 급박한 상황에서의 사업 전환은 오히려 수익률 확보보다 회사 내 현금흐름 확보를 위한 수단으로 전락할 수도 있기 때문에 전략적 유연성을 확보할 수 있도록 사업 다각화 수준을 지속적으로 일정 범위 안에서 관리할 필요가 있을 것으로 판단된다.

본 연구에서는 사회공헌활동에 대한 건설기업들의 인지도를 분석하고, 대기업과 중소 건설기업의 사회공헌활동을 비교해 보았다. 이를 위해 국내 사회공헌활동에 대한 설문조사와 전문가 조사를 통해 비교·분석하고 시사점을 도출하였다. 분석결과 건설기업들은 대체로 사회공헌활동의 필요성을 절감하고 있었는데, 중소 건설기업들은 대규모 기업들에 비해 필요성의 인식 정도가 낮았다. 중소 건설업체 CEO 및 경영진의 사회공헌 관심도는 아직은 부족했다. 사회공헌활동의 추진형태는 전문성과 네트워크 때문에 모두 직접사업 보다 NGO와 파트너십이 많았다. 향후 사회공헌활동 활성화를 위한 전략은 다음과 같이 요약된다. 먼저, 중소기업 CEO들에 대한 인지도 제고와 사회공헌활동 참여를 독려할 필요가 있다. 사회공헌활동의 필요성은 대체로 공감하고 있지만, 대기업을 제외한 중소기업의 경우 참여한 적이 없는 경우도 굉장히 높게 나타나기 때문이다. 둘째, 사회공헌활동을 위해 NGO와의 유대 및 정보 등을 공유할 필요가 있다. 많은 건설기업들이 NGO의 전문성, 전담인력 부족 등으로 NGO와의 파트너십을 선호했는데, NGO의 건설기업에 대한 생리 이해부족, NGO 관련 정보을 얻을 수 있는 인프라 부족 등을 문제로 지적하였다. 이는 특히 중소규모 건설기업에서 두드러졌다. 셋째, 원활한 사회공헌 활동을 위해서는 예산지원이 필요하고 전담인력이 확보되어야 한다. 그리고 외부적으로 정부의 제도적인 지원도 마련되어야 한다. 마지막으로, 건설기업의 사회공헌활동에 대한 홍보가 강화되어야 하고 벤치마킹할 수 있는 사회공헌활동 프로그램 등을 개발해야 한다. 특히 중소 건설업체들은 이러한 여유와 능력이 부족하므로 건설산업 사회공헌재단의 역할이 강조된다.

Indonesian construction companies are currently facing high competition both among themselves and with global construction companies. In order to address this issue, the Government of Indonesia has enacted specific regulations and policies relating to the development and implementation of quality management systems (QMSs) ISO 9001 based in construction, acknowledging that the consistency of construction project quality requires a formal quality system as a guarantee to raise quality standards at all project stages. The research has been undertaken to examine the effectiveness of the regulations and policies against several key performance indicators (KPIs) of the ISO 9001 Indonesian construction companies. A comprehensive review of the relevant regulations and policies together with interviews with the Government and National Construction Services Development Board recommend possible additional guidelines and supporting quality system, which intends to measure contractors' project output against defined standards as well as to assess their performance among other similar service providers. The outcomes of the research contribute to the development of the Indonesian own construction industry quality measurement and assessment system.

건설기업은 내 외부의 경영환경이 글로벌화 되고 수주경쟁이 치열해 짐에 따라 기업 운영 효율성 증대와 수익성 증대를 위한 경영체제에 대한 노력이 요구된다. 1990년 이후 건설기업은 프로세스 중심의 내 외부 업무구조를 개선하기 위하여 BPR, 6시그마, PI, 워크플로우 관리, BPM 등 다양한 시도가 있었으며 기업내부에서 개선된 기능을 일부 획득 했으나 일회성 사업에 머물렀으며 변화에 대한 업무 프로세스 민첩성의 제공은 미비하였다. 또한 최근의 BPM 적용과 실용화 방안에 대해서는 타 산업분야의 이론과 방법론에 국한되어 있으며, 건설기업의 BPM 적용을 위한 도입 시도는 일부기업에서만 개념적 이론적 접근 및 검토단계에 머무르고 있다(B사, H사, 2007년 기준). 따라서 본 연구에서는 건설기업의 경영 패러다임의 변화를 반영하고 건설기업의 업무 프로세스 경영 모델의 도입현황과 개선요구사항을 분석하고자 한다. 또한 건설기업의 BPM 도입을 위하여, 지속 가능한 업무 프로세스 경영 모델의 구축방안을 제시함으로서 건설기업 BPM의 발전방향을 제시하고자 한다.
