This study aims to interpret the experience of science research in a graduate school laboratory from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze's concepts of "agencement" and "becoming". The research was conducted as an autobiographical narrative inquiry. The research text is written in a way that tells the story of my science research experience and retells it from the perspective of Gilles Deleuze. In Deleuze's view, science research is a constantly flowing agencement. The science research agencement is composed of a mechanical agencement of various experimental tools-machines and researcher-machines as well as a collective agencement of speech acts such as biological knowledge, experiment protocols, and laboratory rules. Furthermore, science research agencement is fluid as events occur all over the agencement. Data, as a change occurring in the material dimension, is an event and sign that raises problems. It has the agency to influence agencement through an intersubjective relationship with researchers, and the meaning of data is generated in this process. The change of agencement compelled me to perform science practice. I have performed repeated science practice, meaning that my body has constantly been connected to other machines. As a result of this connection, my body has been affected, and the capacity of my body that constitutes the agencement has been augmented. In addition, I was able to be deterritorialized from the existing science research agencement and reterritorialized in a new science research agencement with data. This process of differentiation allowed me to becoming-scientist. In sum, this study provides implications for science practice-oriented education by exploring the process of becoming-scientist based on my science research experience.
Recently, in the face of successive and unexpected global economic risks, ESG(Environmental, Social, and Governance) management has risen as an essential survival strategy for businesses. Particularly, the supply chain disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have added to the uncertainty of risks, heightening the importance of ESG management in the distribution industry. In this context, the role of blockchain technology in strengthening and managing the connection between the distribution industry and ESG management has become increasingly significant. While there have been extensive proposals for business models that integrate blockchain technology into distribution, few studies have specifically focused on the feasibility and effectiveness of applying blockchain to ESG management in this field. Therefore, this study analyzed the relationship between blockchain and ESG management in the distribution industry by employing association analysis, a text mining technique, on Korean academic research. Through this, the study confirmed the possibility of implementing blockchain in the distribution industry's ESG management and presented keywords to guide future research directions. The findings obtained from this study are expected to be utilized as foundational research for future studies in constructing blockchain-based business models for ESG management in the distribution industry.
This study aims to analyze the impact of ESG activities on the corporate performance of logistics companies in Korea. To achieve this, the study examines the factors influencing the adoption and implementation of ESG activities, assesses the extent to which ESG activities enhance corporate trust and image, and empirically analyzes the effect of ESG implementation on the corporate performance of logistics companies. An online survey was conducted using Google Forms for Korean logistics companies, and a total of 463 data sets were utilized for PLS structural equation analysis using the SmartPLS 4.0 software tools. The findings of the study are as follows: Firstly, external pressure, specifically government pressure, significantly influences environmental responsibility activities, while investor pressure significantly affects social responsibility activities and governance responsibility activities. Additionally, internal management pressures significantly impact environmental responsibility activities, and employees have a significant influence on all ESG responsibility activities. Secondly, environmental responsibility activities positively affect corporate image, whereas social and governance responsibility activities influence trust and corporate image. Thirdly, trust and corporate image demonstrate significant effects on both financial and non-financial performance. Fourthly, trust significantly mediates the relationship between social responsibility, governance responsibility, and non-financial performance, while image mediates the connection between ESG responsibility and both financial and non-financial performance. The contribution of this study lies in providing practical insights for logistics companies to actively promote ESG activities, thereby establishing a reputation for being environmentally, socially, and governance responsible and gaining customer trust. By doing so, this study aims to raise awareness of the importance of ESG activities in the logistics industry and help companies recognize their significance for sustainable management
Mobile shopping goes beyond the level of a tool that simply supports consumers' shopping in-store and creates a new level of experience for consumers through offline connection. It is important to acquire new customers in order to gain a competitive advantage through mobile shopping, but it is more important to maintain a continuous transaction relationship with the secured customers. Existing mobile shopping-related studies can be largely classified into three categories such as a study on the characteristics of mobile consumers, a study on the characteristics of a mobile shopping mall, and a study on the characteristics of mobile shopping itself. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the impact of perceived value, perceived risk, and innovativeness on trust in mobile shopping. In order to investigate the impact of perceived value, perceived risk, consumer innovativeness on the trust in mobile shopping, consumers who have experience in purchasing products through mobile were investigated. The data collected in this study were verified the reliability and validity of the measurement items based on the measurement validation process. In this study, regression analysis was performed by selecting perceived value, perceived risk, innovativeness as independent variables, and trust as dependent variables. As a result of the analysis, perceived value, innovativeness had a positive impact on trust and perceived risk had a negative impact on trust. As a result of analysis, three hypotheses were supported. Finally, implications of the research are presented, and limitations and directions for future research are described.

The advancement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), along with the expansion of government and private investment in startup discovery and funding, has led to the emergence of startups seeking to generate outstanding results based on innovative ideas. As successful startups serve as role models, the number of aspiring entrepreneurs preparing to launch their own startups continues to increase. However, unlike entrepreneurs who challenge themselves with serial entrepreneurship after experiencing success, early-stage startups face various challenges such as team building, technology development, and fundraising. Accelerators play a dual role of mentor and investor by providing education, mentoring, consulting, network connection, and initial investment activities to help startups overcome various challenges they face and facilitate their growth. This study investigated whether there is a correlation between the characteristics of startups and their entrepreneurial performance, and analyzed whether accelerators mediate the relationship between startup characteristics and entrepreneurial performance. A total of 11 hypotheses were proposed, and a survey was conducted on 302 startup founders and employees located across the country, including the metropolitan area, for empirical research. SPSS 23.0 and Amos 23.0 were used for statistical analysis. Through this study, it was found that factors such as innovation, organizational culture, financial characteristics, and learning orientation among the characteristics of startups, rather than having a direct impact on entrepreneurial performance, are linked to entrepreneurial performance through the role of accelerators. By analyzing the impact factors of startup characteristics on entrepreneurial performance, this study presents research on the role of accelerators and provides institutional improvements. It is expected to contribute to the expansion of investment and differentiated acceleration programs, enabling startups to seize the market and grow stably in the market.
Mobility services are rapidly developing along with information and communication technology (ICT) innovation. Recently, the on-demand mobility platform market is growing, and an environment is provided in which users can call services more conveniently and check the connection status in real time using smartphones. This study investigates the current status of users' perceptions and experiences of car-hailing mobility services such as KAKAO Taxi and UT Taxi, and it analyzes the factors affecting the intention to continuously use the car-hailing service, focusing on environmental and instrumental benefits and trust in driver and platform. In particular, this study examines whether the significance of the relationship between influencing factors and continuous use intention could vary depending on the degree of innovativeness and ICT utilization. The results of this study showed that perceived benefits (environmental benefits and convenience and economic instrumental benefits) and trust in driver had significant effects on increasing trust in platform. It was analyzed that the higher the trust in platform, the higher the intention to continuously use the car-hailing service. Furthermore, the influence of perceived environmental benefits and economic benefits on the trust in platform was different depending on the degree of individual innovativeness, and the influence of convenience and economic benefits on the trust in platform varied depending on the degree of ICT utilization. Referring to the results of this study, mobility service providers can better understand the current status of users' perceptions and trust for car-hailing services, and implement service promotion strategies suitable for individual characteristics.
This study investigates the link between music integration in the lives of adults in their twenties and their school music experiences. Ten individuals in their twenties were interviewed to explore their experiences based on the self-determination theory's fundamental psychological needs (autonomy, competence, and relatedness). Participants were categorized into an active music engagement group (5 individuals) and an inactive group (5 individuals) for individual interviews. Transcripts were analyzed following the five steps of grounded theory data analysis technique. Results indicated a strong connection between music activities during school years and current motivation for music integration, associated with the fulfillment of psychological needs outlined in the self-determination theory. Particularly, this study identified the instructional methods, school music activities, and performance evaluations as closely related to autonomy, competence, and relatedness. It offers a comprehensive analysis of how experiences in these areas during school music activities correlate with values and motivations for music integration in adulthood. Additionally, the study suggests ways to promote the voluntary incorporation of music into life through positive experiences of autonomy, competence, and relatedness in music activities.
This study aimed to understand the interrelationships between tree species in plant communities through Plant Social Network (PSN) analysis using a large amount of vegetation data surveyed in an island area belonging to a warm-temperate boreal forest. The Machilus thunbergii, Castanopsis sieboldii, and Ligustrum japonicum, which belong to the canopy layer, Pittosporum tobira and Ardisia japonica, which belong to the shrub layer and Trachelospermum asiaticum and Stauntonia hexaphylla, which belong to the vines, appearing in evergreen broad-leaved climax forest community, showed strong positive association(+) with each other. These tree species had a negative association or no friendly relationship with deciduous broad-leaved species due to the large difference in location environments. Divided into 4 group modularizations in the PSN sociogram, evergreen broad-leaved tree species in Group I and deciduous broad-leaved tree species in Group II showed high centrality and connectivity. It was analyzed that the arrangement of tree species (nodes) and the degree of connection (grouping) of the sociogram can indirectly estimate environmental factors and characteristics of plant communities like DCA. Tree species with high centrality and influence in the PSN included T. asiaticum, Eurya japonica, Lindera obtusiloba, and Styrax japonicus. These tree species are common with a wide range of ecological niches and appear to have the characteristics and survival strategies of opportunistic species that commonly appear in forest gaps and damaged areas. They will play a major role in inter-species interactions and structural and functional changes in plant communities. In the future, long-term research and in-depth discussions are needed to determine how these species actually influence plant community changes through interactions
Measuring Information Technology(IT) organizations' activities have been limited to mainly measure financial indicators for a long time. However, according to the multifarious functions of Information System, a number of researches have been done for the new trends on measurement methodologies that come with financial measurement as well as new measurement methods. Especially, the researches on IT Balanced Scorecard(BSC), concept from BSC measuring IT activities have been done as well in recent years. BSC provides more advantages than only integration of non-financial measures in a performance measurement system. The core of BSC rests on the cause-and-effect relationships between measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures to allow prediction of value chain performance measures, communication, and realization of the corporate strategy and incentive controlled actions. More recently, BSC proponents have focused on the need to tie measures together into a causal chain of performance, and to test the validity of these hypothesized effects to guide the development of strategy. Kaplan and Norton[2001] argue that one of the primary benefits of the balanced scorecard is its use in gauging the success of strategy. Norreklit[2000] insist that the cause-and-effect chain is central to the balanced scorecard. The cause-and-effect chain is also central to the IT BSC. However, prior researches on relationship between information system and enterprise strategies as well as connection between various IT performance measurement indicators are not so much studied. Ittner et al.[2003] report that 77% of all surveyed companies with an implemented BSC place no or only little interest on soundly modeled cause-and-effect relationships despite of the importance of cause-and-effect chains as an integral part of BSC. This shortcoming can be explained with one theoretical and one practical reason[Blumenberg and Hinz, 2006]. From a theoretical point of view, causalities within the BSC method and their application are only vaguely described by Kaplan and Norton. From a practical consideration, modeling corporate causalities is a complex task due to tedious data acquisition and following reliability maintenance. However, cause-and effect relationships are an essential part of BSCs because they differentiate performance measurement systems like BSCs from simple key performance indicator(KPI) lists. KPI lists present an ad-hoc collection of measures to managers but do not allow for a comprehensive view on corporate performance. Instead, performance measurement system like BSCs tries to model the relationships of the underlying value chain in cause-and-effect relationships. Therefore, to overcome the deficiencies of causal modeling in IT BSC, sound and robust causal modeling approaches are required in theory as well as in practice for offering a solution. The propose of this study is to suggest critical success factors(CSFs) and KPIs for measuring performance for IT organizations and empirically validate the casual relationships between those CSFs. For this purpose, we define four perspectives of BSC for IT organizations according to Van Grembergen's study[2000] as follows. The Future Orientation perspective represents the human and technology resources needed by IT to deliver its services. The Operational Excellence perspective represents the IT processes employed to develop and deliver the applications. The User Orientation perspective represents the user evaluation of IT. The Business Contribution perspective captures the business value of the IT investments. Each of these perspectives has to be translated into corresponding metrics and measures that assess the current situations. This study suggests 12 CSFs for IT BSC based on the previous IT BSC's studies and COBIT 4.1. These CSFs consist of 51 KPIs. We defines the cause-and-effect relationships among BSC CSFs for IT Organizations as follows. The Future Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Operational Excellence perspective. Then the Operational Excellence perspective will have positive effects on the User Orientation perspective. Finally, the User Orientation perspective will have positive effects on the Business Contribution perspective. This research tests the validity of these hypothesized casual effects and the sub-hypothesized causal relationships. For the purpose, we used the Partial Least Squares approach to Structural Equation Modeling(or PLS Path Modeling) for analyzing multiple IT BSC CSFs. The PLS path modeling has special abilities that make it more appropriate than other techniques, such as multiple regression and LISREL, when analyzing small sample sizes. Recently the use of PLS path modeling has been gaining interests and use among IS researchers in recent years because of its ability to model latent constructs under conditions of nonormality and with small to medium sample sizes(Chin et al., 2003). The empirical results of our study using PLS path modeling show that the casual effects in IT BSC significantly exist partially in our hypotheses.
In this paper, the applicability of a 1900mm-deep concrete-filled U-shaped composite beam to composite ordinary moment frames (C-OMFs) was investigated based on existing test results from smaller-sized specimens and supplemental numerical studies since full-scale seismic testing of such a huge sized beam is practically impossible. The key issue was the web local buckling of concrete-filled U section under negative bending. Based on 13 existing test results compiled, the relationship between web slenderness and story drift capacity was obtained. From this relationship, a 1900mm-deep mega beam, fabricated with 25mm-thick plate was expected to experience the web local buckling at 2% story drift and eventually reach a story drift over 3%, thus much exceeding the requirements of C-OMFs. The limiting width to thickness ratio according to the 2010 AISC Specification was shown to be conservative for U section webs of this study. The test-validated supplemental nonlinear finite element analysis was also conducted to further investigate the effects of the horizontal stiffeners (used to tie two webs of a U section) on web local buckling and flexural strength. First, it is shown that the nominal plastic moment under negative bending can be developed without using the horizontal stiffeners, although the presence of the stiffeners can delay the occurrence of web local buckling and restrain its propagation. Considering all these, it is concluded that the 1900mm-deep concrete-filled U-shaped composite beam investigated can be conservatively applied to C-OMFs. Finally, some useful recommendations for the arrangement and design of the horizontal stiffeners are also recommended based on the numerical results.
