Recently, many studies on the supply chain management have been published due to increasing attention placed on the design and performance analysis of the supply chain as a whole. Using the Beer distribution game introduced in Sterman[1995], we develop a simple order-up-to-R inventory model to minimize sum of the inventory holding cost and shortage cost under probabilistic demand. We show that performance of the model is robust through extensive simulation experiment. Applying the model to serially connected supply chain, we observe that, if the unit shortage cost is relatively high, R value computed independently is an optimal solution.

In this paper, we propose a new power-efficient and reliable connected dominating set based routing protocol in the mobile ad hoc networks. Gateway nodes must be elected in consideration of residual energy and mobility because frequent reconstruction of connected dominating set result in transmission error for route losses. If node density is high, it results in a lot of contentions and more delays for network congestion. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new construction method of connected dominating set that supports reliable and efficient data transmission through minimizing reconstruction of connected dominating set by delaying neighbor set advertisement message broadcast in proportion to weighted sum of residual energy, mobility, and the number of neighbor nodes. The performance of the proposed protocol is proved by simulation of various conditions.

Let a and b be positive integers, and let V (G), (G), and 2(G) be the vertex set of a graph G, the minimum degree of G, and the minimum degree sum of two non-adjacent vertices in V (G), respectively. An even [a, b]-factor of a graph G is a spanning subgraph H such that for every vertex v ∈ V (G), dH(v) is even and a ≤ dH(v) ≤ b, where dH(v) is the degree of v in H. Matsuda conjectured that if G is an n-vertex 2-edge-connected graph such that $n{\geq}2a+b+{\frac{a^2-3a}{b}}-2$, (G) ≥ a, and ${\sigma}_2(G){\geq}{\frac{2an}{a+b}}$, then G has an even [a, b]-factor. In this paper, we provide counterexamples, which are highly connected. Furthermore, we give sharp sufficient conditions for a graph to have an even [a, b]-factor. For even an, we conjecture a lower bound for the largest eigenvalue in an n-vertex graph to have an [a, b]-factor.

Recent automakers are trying to be more precise with the dimension check and moving parts to guarantee high quality and satisfy customer requirements. The aim of this paper is to investigate the design tolerance suitability of door operating mechanism linked arms, lever, and cam-shaft in a mobile air handling unit. These parts are complicated because doors, arms, lever and cam-shaft are connected nonlinearly in 3D. The current tolerance analysis method poses problems in design analysis because the moving doors are reasonably suitable for the AHU function. The 3-DCS analysis method provided useful results not only in establishing the inspection criteria for the quality control of products but also in enabling economical production. As a result, the vent door had $1.62^{\circ}{\sim}1.72^{\circ}$ and the defrost door had $0.84^{\circ}{\sim}0.9^{\circ}$ for the directly connected arms operating-type. For the lever connected arm operating-type, the foot door had $2.0^{\circ}{\sim}2.24^{\circ}$ tolerance, while the tolerance values satisfied the air flow volume distribution rate criteria in the AHU. Finally, the results have confirmed the design's tolerance suitability by using 3-DCS analysis at the early design stages. Reliability can be achieved by analyzing accumulated tolerance during the sub-parts assembly process and the moving mechanism linked especially by arms, lever, and cam-shaft.
This study compared the absolute error of estimated fundamental frequency (AEF0) using voice - (VRP) and speech range profile (SRP) tasks across various etiological groups with voice disorders. Additionally, we explored the association between AEF0 and related voice parameters within each specific etiological group. The participants included 120 individuals, comprising 30 each from the functional (FUNC), organic (ORGAN), and eurological (NEUR) voice disorder groups, and a normal control group (NC). Each participant performed voice and SRP tasks, and the fundamental frequency of connected speech was measured using electroglottography (EGG). When comparing the AEF0 measures across the etiological groups, there were no differences in Grade and Severity among the patients. However, variations were observed in AEF0VRP and AEF0SUM. Specifically, AEF0VRP was higher in the ORGAN group than in the FUNC and NC groups, whereas AEF0SUM was higher in the ORGAN group than in the NC group. Furthermore, within FUNC and NEUR, AEF0 showed a positive correlation with Grade, while in ORGAN, it exhibited a positive correlation with the mean closed quotient (CQ). Attention should be paid to the application of AEF0 measures and related voice variables based on the etiological group. This study provides foundational information for the clinical application of AEF0 measures.
A knot complement admits a pseudo-hyperbolic structure by solving Thurston's gluing equations for an octahedral decomposition. It is known that a solution to these equations can be described in terms of region variables, also called w-variables. In this paper, we consider the case when pinched octahedra appear as a boundary parabolic solution in this decomposition. The w-solution with pinched octahedra induces a solution for a new knot obtained by changing the crossing or inserting a tangle at the pinched place. We discuss this phenomenon with corresponding holonomy representations and give some examples including ones obtained from connected sum.
Let G be a simple connected graph with n vertices and m edges, with a sequence of vertex degrees $d_1{\geq}d_2{\geq}{\cdots}{\geq}d_n$ > 0. A vertex-degree topological index, referred to as harmonic index, is defined as $H={\sum{_{i{\sim}j}}{\frac{2}{d_i+d_j}}$, where i ~ j denotes the adjacency of vertices i and j. Lower and upper bounds of the index H are obtained.
Let B be a simply-connected projective variety such that the first cohomology groups of all line bundles on B are zero. Let E be a vector bundle over B and $X={\mathbb{P}}(E)$. It is easily seen that a power of any endomorphism of X takes fibers to fibers. We prove that if X admits an endomorphism which is of degree greater than one on the fibers, then E splits into a direct sum of line bundles.

We develop a topological model of site-specific recombination that applies to substrates which are the connected sum of two torus links of the form T(2, n)#T(2, m). Then we use our model to prove that all knots and links that can be produced by site-specific recombination on such substrates are contained in one of two families, which we illustrate.

Power demand forecasting is an important factor of the peak management. This paper deals with the 15 minutes ahead load forecasting problem in a DC urban railway system. Since supplied power lines to trains are connected with parallel, the load characteristics are too complex and highly non-linear. The main idea of the proposed method for the 15 minutes ahead prediction is to use the daily load similarity accounting for the load nonlinearity. An Euclidean norm with weighted factors including loads of the neighbor substation is used for the similar load selection. The prediction value is determinated by the sum of the similar load and the correction value. The correction has applied the neural network model. The feasibility of the proposed method is exemplified through some simulations applied to the actual load data of Incheon subway system.
