Design of structures subjected to blast loads are usually carried out through nonlinear inelastic dynamic analysis followed by imposing acceptance criteria specified in design codes. In addition to comprehensive aspects of inelastic dynamic analyses, particularly in analysis and design of structures subjected to transient loads, they inherently suffer from convergence and computational cost problems. In this research, a strategy is proposed for design of steel moment resisting frames under far range blast loads. This strategy is inspired from performance based seismic design concepts, which is here developed to blast design. For this purpose, an algorithm is presented to calculate the capacity modification factors of frame members in order to simplify design of these structures subjected to blast loading. The present method provides a simplified design procedure in which the linear dynamic analysis is preformed, instead of the time-consuming nonlinear dynamic analysis. Nonlinear and linear analyses are accomplished in order to establish this design procedure, and consequently the final design procedure is proposed as a strategy requiring only linear structural analysis, while acceptance criteria of nonlinear analysis is implicitly satisfied.

The rise in population and the increase of urbanization and industrial growth has resulted in an ever-increasing volume of municipal solid waste that must be regularly collected, transported, and ultimately disposed of. Therefore, over the last decade the public, commercial and legislative awareness of environmental issues has been increased dramatically on earth particularly some industrial countries which has a shortage of landfill capacity. A quality, cost and delivery lead-time are usually considered as the competitive factors for each industry. However, the concepts of environmental issue are emerging common terms and concerns more seriously. More attention than ever is being focused on the recycling and source reduction techniques to reduce the total volume of waste. Unfortunately, however, a shortage of landfill capacity and increasing disposal cost requests a fundamental solution about the environmental issue. That is the remanufacturing which allow manufacturers to minimize waste, production cost and to turn end-of-life product into a profitable product. The objectives of this research were to growth the remanufacturing system by suggesting issues and implementation methods for the remanufacturing. In order to accomplish these objectives, we introduced backgrounds of appearance and benefits of the remanufacturing.

In the recent society of knowledge industry, a changed phenomenon of domestic corporate culture, Work Smart working in creative and various ways beyond time and space is emerged from Work Hard working just hard. Thus, many corporations are trying to configure the emotional space beside the work space to make effective and creative achievements in free work environment out of rigid organizational culture in the past. This space is called Amenity space which enables to implement physical and psychological healings simultaneously and this is not a place for rest like in the past industry society. This research suggests distinctive characteristics of other amenity furniture unlike general furniture by analyzing the variously suggested change of forms of amenity furniture for Work Smart and the changes of configuring key factors such as forms, structures and functions of amenity furniture.

Databases can crash due to various failures in computer systems. Recovery is a mechanism for restoring consistent data from damages caused by the by the failures and is an essential feature in database systems. This paper surveys recovery techniques for memory resident database systems. We first describe the basic architecture for memory resident database systems, and point out the main factors affecting their performance enhancement. Next, we explain the write-ahead logging(WAL), a recovery technique widely-used in most disk resident database systems, for easy understanding of basic recovery mechanisms. And then, we discuss some new concepts employed in memory resident database systems recovery. Finally, we present a representative memory resident database recovery technique, which is based on a special purpose hardware called HALO, as a case study.

Purpose: The purposes of this study were to provide baseline data for nursing service program and to elevate the quality of service by examining whether nurses' nursing service is related to job stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment, leadership and nursing service satisfaction in hospitals. Method: Subjects were 135 nurses and 135 patients, working and being in the hospitals in C province & D city from November. 7 to 21, 2005 and completed a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, ANCOVA, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The most powerful predictor of nursing service was leadership(60.7%). Altogether leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work stress explained 72.5% of nursing service of the nurses in hospitals. Conclusion: The results showed the nurses' nursing service in hospitals was influenced by leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job stress. It suggested that concepts of leadership, nursing service satisfaction, organizational commitment, and job stress should be considered in developing nursing services programs.

There seems to be a renewed interest in Interorganizational relationship to search for strategic information partnerships. It is particularly noteworthy that no study has yet reported conflgurations at the level of interorganizational relationships nor compared such configurations across different types of ISO(interorganizational system). This paper seeks to uncover dominant configurations of interorganizational relationships across the various types of ISO. We Integrate relevant theoretical concepts from transaction cost economics, organization theory and political economy to develop a conceptual model of interorganizational relationships. We empirically uncover a set of hypothesis toward the patterns of interorganizetional relationships. Moreover the implications for further research pertaining to the logic and development of configurations were proposed.

The primary purpose of this study was to evolve integrated design process for Experiential Design which is based on the former study, 'The Influence of Cognitive Factors on the Creative Abilities in Design'. Experience is a transformation factor to all of the design processes, which has three phase of problem solving; Input, Process, and Output. We regard Experiential Design is a transforming process from concept to experience, and set up a mode) of Holistic Design Process (HDP), which consists of four domains: Four Causes, Thinking Modes, Sensory Modalities, and Creative Abilities. Revolving Sensory Modalities (SM), Creative Abilities (CA), and Thinking Modes (TM) around Product Design Specification (PDS) through a design process, Design Concepts ripen and mature into Externalization. Each component of Experiential Design (TM, SM, and CA) turns around the PDS. Here, experience is first perceived by the five senses. Then, the knowledge is formed, and the CA works for a problem solving. And TM controls all of these procedures. We regard these are a phenomenon of Experiential Design. The HDP can be helpful to develop valuable solutions and create a good experience.

The purpose of this study is to determine the patterns of differences between genders in science achievement. Eleventh grade, 140 female and male students were sampled from a school in Seoul. According to the analysis results of pilot study, 20 items were finally selected for the main study. To sharpen our interpretations of the factors and provide some confirmation, we supplemented the statistical analysis with a more detailed cognitive study of the items using think-aloud protocols and interviews with student test takers. The analysis of this study took into account the different item formats, contexts, and presentation styles. The findings are as follows: First, there was no significant gender difference between multiple-choice and open-ended items. Second, male students achieved significantly better in the context of everyday life in multiple-choice items. Third, male students favored items presented as written texts. Fourth, in problem-solving process, female students tend to apply their science concepts, whereas male students tend to apply their everyday experiences. The results of this investigation indicate that gender difference in science achievement depends heavily on item characteristics.

In order that food service companies ran take long-term viability, they should introduce the market-orientation concept. Because market-orientation requires to investigate the factors of ever-diversified market environment on a regular basis, they can build up more detailed, practical and differentiated strategies than before. Thus, this study aimed to establish that the strategy of competitive edges based on the concepts could yield excellent marketing performance.
