Related Loan on Real Estate Firm Performance in an Emerging Market

  • This study investigates the relationship between related loan, ownership concentration and real estate firm performance. The data was collected from 35 real estate firms listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2007 to 2012. Related loans are viewed from the angle of related lending and loan. Related lending and loan is measured by the related lending on total lending ratio and related loan on total loan ratio. Firm performance is measured by the asset turnover ratio and return on assets ratio. Ownership concentration is measured by the right cash flow. The data analysis was done with regression analysis and panel data. The results of the study found that related loans had a positive effect on sales but had no effect on profits. This supports the efficient transaction hypothesis. On the other hand, related lending has a positive effect on profits that supports opportunistic transactions. Ownership concentration moderates the effect of related loan on company's performance. The related lending are beneficial for mutually supporting activities in the real estate sector business group in Indonesia, but related loans have the potential to be used in tunneling activities. The paper contributes to the related party transaction in benefits-risks of related lending and related loan in uncertainty context.

한국잔디(Zoysia japonica Steud.) 종자의 발아촉진에 관한 연구 (Studies on the Germination Promotion of the Zoysia japonica seeds.)

  • In order to promote the germination of Korean lawn grass(Zoysia japonica Steud.) seeds a gravimetric seed selection with a mixed chemical solution and the germination promotion with KOH treatment were studied and following results were obtained. 1. When immersed into methanol(S.G., 0.7) 14 percent of immature seeds were precipitated. 2. With water (S.G., 1.0) 36.5 percent of mature seeds were submerged. 3. On a mixture of carbon tetrachloride (S.G., 1.6) and ethylether (S.G., 0.7) in a ratio of 4:6 the seed selection was most effective. 4. When treated with KOH solution the germination rate was 71.01 percent in contrast to 6.0 percent of germination without the treatment. 5. As for concentration of KQH solution, 15 percent depressed the germination (46.7 %) whereas above 20 % the germination rate was gradually increased (79.32 %) up to 40 percent of concentration where the concentration started to depress germination ratio (77.32 %). 6. Finally, in connection with the duration of KOH treatment, a time lapse of up to 20 minutes depressed the germinating ratio(70.02 %) and 30 minutes to 45 minutes increased this ratio to 94.52 percent. 60 minutes of treatment depressed the germination to 75.62 percent.

  • SCP(Sand Compaction Pile) method that forms a composite ground by driving compacted sand piles into the soft ground. This method is one of the soil improvement techniques for reinforcing and strengthening soft ground deposits. This thesis describes the investigation on the behavior of soft ground reinforced with SCP by low improvement ratio. Direct shear test and consolidation test carried out to verified behavior of composite ground reinforced with SCP. Test results were discussed with reference to the amount of consolidation settlement, variation of shear resistance with area replacement ratio and effect of the stress concentration. And, laboratory model loading test carried out to verified the effect of the location and failure mode of reinforced embankment. Residual shear strength varies with the area replacement and constrict load in the low replacement ratio. Calculated stress concentration ratio overestimate than proposed valve by experimental, theoretical and analytical method. As regards the location, improving right below of the top of the slope was more effective than below of the toe of the slope. This thesis carried out to obtain fundamental information of behavior of the composit ground. Hereafter, centrifuge test that reproduce stress state of the in-situ must be necessary through the further study about pile penetration, reinforce position and construct time.

Optimization of diesel biodegradation by Vibrio alginolyticus using Box-Behnken design

  • Petroleum hydrocarbons pollutants, such as diesel fuel, have caused ecosystem damage in terrestrial and aquatic habitats. They have been recognized as one of the most hazardous wastes. This study was designed to optimize the effect of Tween 80 concentration, nitrogen (N)/phosphorus (P) ratio and salinity level on diesel biodegradation by Vibrio alginolyticus (V. alginolyticus). Response surface methodology with Box-Behnken design was selected with three factors of Tween 80 concentration (0, 5, 10 mg/L), N/P ratio (5, 10, 15) and salinity level (15‰, 17.5‰, 20‰) as independent variables. The percentage of diesel degradation was a dependent variable for 14 d of the remediation period. The results showed that the percentages of diesel degradation generally increased with an increase in the amount of Tween 80 concentration, N/P ratio and salinity level, respectively. The optimization condition for diesel degradation by V. alginolyticus occurred at 9.33 mg/L of Tween 80, 9.04 of N/P ratio and 19.47‰ of salinity level, respectively, with percentages of diesel degradation at 98.20%. The statistical analyses of the experimental results and model predictions ($R^2=0.9936$) showed the reliability of the regression model and indicated that the addition of biostimulant can enhance the percentage of diesel biodegradation.

TMAH/IPA의 실리콘 이방성 식각특성 (Si Anisotropic Etching Characteristics of TMAH/IPA)

  • This paper describes the anisotropic etching characteristics of Si in acqueous TMAH/IPA solutions. The etch rates of (100) oriented Si crystal planes decrease with increasing TMAH concentration and IPA concentration. Etchant concentration and etch temperature have a large effect on hillock density. Hillock density strongly increase with lower TMAH concentration and higher etch temperature. The etched (100) planes are covered by pyramidal-shaped hillocks below TMAH 15 wt.%, but very smooth surface is obtained TMAH 25 wt.%. The addition of IPA to TMAH solution leads to smoother surfaces of sidewalls etched planes. Undercutting ratio of pure TMAH solution is much higher than KOH. But, addition of IPA to TMAh the underrcutting ratio reduces by a factor of 3∼4. Therefore, acqueous TMAH/IPA solution is able to use as anisotropic etchant of Si because of full compability with IC fabrication process.

  • The basic mechanism of the granular sludge formation which is the most important factor in the start-up and stable operators is not confirmed yet. In this study, the effect of granular sludge formation was investigated with the different substrate concentrations and the various ratios of substrate supply/deficiency. The granular sludge formation in the UASB reactor was closely related to the substrate concentrations and the ratio of substrate supply/deficlency The granular sludge formation was not accelerated at low substrate concentration. It was convinced that granular sludge formation was accelerated when the substrate supply with high concentration was stopped at UASB reactor. From this experiment, it was estimated that granular sludge was formed by the combination of hydrogen utilizing bacteria that form hydrogen condition and acid forming bacteria at substrate deficit condition by mutual symbiosis. Though the removal efficiency of organic matter was decreased as the influent substrate concentration was Increased, the higher the influent substrate the better the granular sludge formation.

  • This study is concerned about the stress concentration factor measurement by photoelastic method, for the case of two circular holes arrangement in 3mm semi-infinite plate under tensile load, the ratio of those two circular holes diameter, the ratio of distance apart from circular holes to breadth and the two holes arrangement angle with loading direction were varied. Besides, the measured stress concentration by photoelastic method around one circular hole was compared with that by strain-gage method.

Preparation of Fe3O4/SiO2 Core/Shell Nanoparticles with Ultrathin Silica Layer

  • We successfully synthesized $Fe_3O_4/SiO_2$ nanoparticles with ultrathin silica layer of $1.0{\pm}0.5$ nm that was fine controlled by changing concentration of $Fe_3O_4$. Among various reaction conditions for silica coating, increasing concentration of $Fe_3O_4$ was more effective approach to decrease silica thickness compared to water-to-surfactant ratio control. Moreover, we found that concentration of the 1-octanol is also important factor to produce the homogeneous $Fe_3O_4/SiO_2$ nanoparticles. The present approach could be available to apply on preparation of other core/shell nanoparticles with ultrathin silica layer.

작물의 내염성 기작연구 I. 염분농도에 따른 보리, 호밀, 이탈리안 라이그래스 종자의 발아생리반응 (Mechanisms of Salt Tolerance in Crop Plants I. Physiological Responses of Barley, Rye and Italian Ryegrass Seed Germination to NaCl Concentrations)

  • 호밀, 보리, 이탈리안라이그래스에 대하여 NaCl로 염분농도를 높여가며 실험한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 종자의 발아율은 호밀이 종자자체의 활력에 의해 염분을 처리하지 않은 구와 0.5%이하의 염분조건에서 높은 발아율과 발아세를 보였던 반면 고농도의 염분조건에서는 발아율이 떨어졌으나 보리의 경우는 0.8%의 염분농도까지는 발아율이 80%이상을 보였고, 이탈리안라이그래스의 경우 염분농도의 증가에 따른 발아율 감소는 보리나 호밀에 비하여 심하지 않았다. 2. 수분 흡수율은 보리의 경우 호밀보다 낮았음에도 불구하고 발아율은 증가했으며 또한 종자의 흡수율에 있어서 염분농도가 높을 경우 흡수수분의 감소정도가 흐밀보다 보리에서 심하지 않았다. 3. 탄수화물은 보리의 경우 염분의 함량이 높아짐에 따라 전분은 감소의 정도가 약했고 환원당은 염분농도 흡수시간의 지속에 따라 별다른 변화의 양상이 없었다. 호밀의 경우는 0.3%의 염분농도까지는 환원당의 함량이 증가하는 경향이었으며 흡수 20시간 이후에는 환원당의 함량이 급증하였다. 4. 염분의 흡수정도는 염분농도가 높을수록 시간이 경과함에 따라 흡수의 정도가 증가하는 경향이었고 $\beta-amylase 활력은 염분을 처리하지 않은구와 0.6%의 염분농도에서 높게 나타났다.
