  • The compressive strength of concrete is determined by various influencing factors. However, the conventional method for estimating the compressive strength of concrete has been suggested by considering only 1 to 3 specific influential factors as variables. In this study, nine influential factors (W/B ratio, Water, Cement, Aggregate(Coarse, Fine), Fly ash, Blast furnace slag, Curing temperature, and humidity) of papers opened for 10 years were collected at 4 conferences in order to know the various correlations among data and the tendency of data. The selected mixture and compressive strength data were learned using the Deep Learning Algorithm to derive an estimated function model. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the number of hidden layers on the prediction performance in the process of estimating the compressive strength for an arbitrary combination.

  • The mechanical characteristic of Lightweight Foamed Soil(LWFS) are investigated in this research. LWFS is composed of the in-suit soil, cement and foam to reduce the unit-weight and increase compressive strength. The unconfined compressive tests are carried out on the prepared specimens of LWFS with various soil types to investigate the relationship between compressive strength of LWFS and physical properties of soil. The result indicate that coefficient of gradation($C_g$) and liquid limit(LL) are more important factor affecting compressive strength than other physical properties of soil and coefficient of gradation($C_g$) and liquid limit(LL) can standard to determine the optical soil among the in-situ soils for LWFS.

  • This paper improves genetic programming (GP) and weight genetic programming (WGP) and proposes soft-computing polynomials (SCP) for accurate prediction and visible polynomials. The proposed genetic programming system (GPS) comprises GP, WGP and SCP. To represent confined compressive strength and strain of circular concrete columns in meaningful representations, this paper conducts sensitivity analysis and applies pruning techniques. Analytical results demonstrate that all proposed models perform well in achieving good accuracy and visible formulas; notably, SCP can model problems in polynomial forms. Finally, concrete compressive strength and lateral steel ratio are identified as important to both confined compressive strength and strain of circular concrete columns. By using the suggested formulas, calculations are more accurate than those of analytical models. Moreover, a formula is applied for confined compressive strength based on current data and achieves accuracy comparable to that of neural networks.

  • In the construction site, it is necessary to estimate the compressive strength of concrete in order to adjust the demolding time of the form, and establish and adjust the construction schedule. The compressive strength of concrete is determined by various influencing factors. However, the conventional method for estimating the compressive strength of concrete has been suggested by considering only 1 to 3 specific influential factors as variables. The purpose of this paper is to estimate compressive strength more accurately by applying it to algorithm of the Deep learning.

  • The lightness of components required in automobile and machinery industry is requiring high strength of components. In particular, manufacturing process and new materials development for solving the fatigue fracture problem attendant upon high strength of suspension of automobile are actively advanced. In this paper, the effect of compressive residual stress of spring steel(JISG SUP-9) by shot-peening on fatigue crack growth characteristics in high temperatures($100^{\circ}C$, $150^{\circ}C$, $180^{\circ}C$) was investigated with considering fracture mechanics. So, we can obtain followings. (1)Compressive residual stress decreases in high temperature, that is, with increasing temperature. (2)The effect of compressive residual stress on fatigue crack growth behavior in high temperature increases below $\Delta$K=17~19MPa (3)It was investigated by SEM that the constraint of compressive residual stress for plastic zone of fatigue crack tip was decreased in high temperature as compared with room temperature.

  • Composite resins has been widely used in dental clinics because of esthetic restoration. The aim of this study was to assess the effects of the cavity designs on the compressive stress of resin restoration. So, the author made the standardized specimen of four types (Type of speciemen are width 1.5mm, depth 2mm, width 1.5mm, depth 3mm, width 2mm, depth 2mm, width 2mm, depth 3mm). The compressive strength was measured by universal testing machine (Tong Kwang Co.) The results indicating following; 1. There was a statistic significance of compressive strength between four cavity forms. 2. There was no difference of significance of compressive strength between two resins. 3. There was a significance of compressive strength between depth 3mm width 1.5mm and depth 3mm width 2mm.

  • In this paper, the compressive strength characteristics of cement paste were compared with the addition of liquefied red mud with the addition of nitric acid in order to improve the strength of the deteriorated cement. The results showed that the compressive strength with between 7 days and 28 days was greater than that of liquefied red mud. The ratio of daily compressive strength of the liquefied red mud is higher than that of the Plain with a 1 percent addition rate, and the ratio of compressive strength is lower than that of the Plain on the 28 days. Therefore, the compressive strength of neutralization liquefied red mud compared to liquidated red mud was relatively high, and the compressive strength of the red mud was shown to be improved to a level almost similar to that of Plain.

  • The possibility of using recycled coarse glass aggregates as a substitute for natural crushed stone are relatively limited. In order to promote it for engineering application, this paper reports the effect of coarse glass aggregate on mechanical behavior of concrete. The coarse aggregates are substituted for coarse glass aggregate (CGA) as 0%,20%,40%,60%,80% and 100%.The results show that increasing the coarse glass aggregate content cause decrease in compressive strength, the elastic modulus, the splitting tensile strength, the flexural strength. An equation is presented to generate the relationship between cube compressive strength and prism compressive strength, the relationship between cube compressive strength and elastic modulus, the relationship between cube compressive strength and splitting tensile strength, the relationship between cube compressive strength and flexural strength of coarse glass concrete.

  • Utilization of upgraded fine fly ash in cement-based materials has been proved by many researchers as an effective method to improve compressive strength of cement based materials at early ages. The addition of fine fly ash has introduced dilution effect, enhanced pozzolanic reaction effect, nucleation effect and physical filling effect into cement-fly ash system. In this study, an integrated reaction model is adpoted to quantify the contributions from cement hydration and pozzolanic reaction to compressive strength. A modified model related to the physical filling effect is utilized to calculate the compressive strength increment considering the gradual dissolution of fly ash particles. Via combination of these two parts, a numerical model has been proposed to predict the compressive strength development of fine fly ash mortar considering fly ash fineness. The reliability of the model is validated through good agreement with the experimental results from previous articles.

  • In this study, we conducted a study to evaluate the more accurate mechanical properties of concrete damaged by fire. In relation to this, in this study, the results of compressive strength and biaxial flexural strength were compared for concrete that received high temperature heat. As a result, both the compressive strength and the biaxial bending strength decreased as the heating temperature increased. As a result of examining the correlation between the compressive strength and the biaxial flexural strength, the biaxial flexural strength was smaller than the compressive strength.
