  • This study aimed to identify the relationship between perfectionism and motivational climate in competitive athletes and to provide information for improvement of their performance. One hundred ninety-six athletes who trained in Korea National Training Center participated in this study and they were divided into record and man-to-man events. Also they filled in the questionnaire about demographic factors, perfectionism, and motivational climate. Collected data were analyzed by using cross validation and independent t-test for identifying the difference of two events and structural equation model for testing hypotheses and model fit. Perfectionism and motivational climate in man-to-man events were stronger compared to record event. In record event, perfectionism was more influenced by ego involving motivational climate compared to task involving, while in man-to-man event, perfectionism was affected by only ego involving motivational climate. However, these both study models had a bad fit.

  • Our aim was to access the association between recreational physical activity (RPA) and risk of ovarian cancer (OC). The studies were retrieved from the PubMed and Embase databases up to February 20th, 2014. Risk ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were used to estimate effect sizes. Random-effects or fixed-effects models were used to pool the data. The trim and fill method was applied for sensitivity analysis. Begg's rank correlation test and Egger's regression asymmetry test were employed to assess the publication bias. A total of 6 studies (435398 participants including 2983 OC patients) were included in this meta-analysis. The overall estimate indicated that there was weakly inverse association between RPA and OC risk (RR=0.90, 95%CI: 0.72-1.12, p=0.335). Meanwhile, for prospective cohort studies, a result consistent with the overall estimate was obtained (RR=1.12, 95% CI: 0.88-1.42, p=0.356). However, for case control studies, the pooled estimate of RR was 0.76 (95%CI: 0.64-0.90, p=0.002), indicating a clear significant association between RPA and OC risk. In addition, the sensitivity analysis indicated a significant link between RPA and risk of OC after removing Lahmann's study (RR=0.80, 95% CI: 0.68-0.93, p=0.004). No significant publication bias was found (Begg's test: p=1.00; Egger's test: p=0.817). In conclusion, our meta-analysis indicated a weakly inverse relationship between RPA and the occurrence of OC.

  • The purpose of this study was to provide information on athletes' characteristics and advantages and disadvantages by analyzing the kinematic factors having a decisive influence on competitive abilities such as release conditions in the delivery phase on major Korean javelin athletes. Two supported javelin throwers of the Korean national team participated in this study. The total average time required of the delivery phase was 0.31(${\pm}0.016$). The athletes' release angle was 33.2 to 41.7 degrees. The attack angle varied widely from -3.5 to 5.9 degrees. The Javelin heights of Subject A and B were 95.9 and 89.2%Ht. The average stride length were 180.6 and 176.7cm. The center of mass velocity of LFD and REL was relatively low in all the subjects. The average deceleration rates of center of mass velocity of Subject A and B were 57.2 and 48.9%lose. The left knee angles of Subject A and B were 160.1 and 155.5 degrees in LFD, 153.0 and 164.0 degrees in REL. The joint velocity of upper limb segments was relatively low in all the subjects. The maximum average wrist velocity of Subject A and B was 18.2 and 16.3 m/s in REL.

The experimental group were 6 male Korean national archery substitute players, who were selected in 2007. The effects was examined on competitive state anxiety inventory-2, heart rates, archery score and interviews. As the result of applying the developed program of this study on the field, competitive state anxiety, somatic state anxiety and heart rate were decreased. In the interviews athletes told that they were relaxed psychologically and physically. This result demonstrated the relaxation training program were effective.

  • This study aimed to analyze the impact of mental strength on the competitive performance of student Taekwondo sparring athletes. A total of 343 middle school, high school, and university students registered as Taekwondo sparring athletes with the Korea Taekwondo Association were conveniently sampled. The Mental Toughness Test developed by Loehr was utilized after expert consultations. Data analysis involved t-tests and one-way ANOVA to assess the levels of mental strength sub-factors based on general characteristics, followed by post hoc tests using the Schéffe method for intergroup comparisons. Correlation analysis and multiple regression were conducted to examine the relationship between sub-factors of mental strength and competitive ability. The results indicated significant differences in mental strength sub-factors-confidence, level of awakening regulation, visualization and mental imagery regulation, motivation level, positive energy, and attitude control-based on gender and age among Taekwondo sparring student athletes. In terms of perceived competitive ability, significant differences were found based on age and sports experience. Consequently, beyond psychological training, the study revealed that age and diverse experiences positively influence specific aspects of mental strength among Taekwondo sparring student athletes. Therefore, coaching and training for these athletes, particularly during middle and high school years, should incorporate psychological aspects alongside diverse competition experiences and training to help overcome performance evaluation anxieties during matches.

Analysis result can be summarized as follows. (1) In the view of the total play time, the proportions of the online games in each genre were appeared in the order of "RPG > FPS/RTS > Sports > Arcade/Poker > Go-stop > Board/Racing". (2) In the view of the shares in the play time, the degree of competition between games in the sub market structure of the online games according to the genre was found in the order of "RTS > Racing > FPS/Sports > Go-stop > Poker > Arcade/Board > RPG". The evaluation and interpretation of the high and low of the competition degree are as follows. As the degree of competition is higher, (RTS > Racing > ${\cdots}$) the royalty and the ratio of reusing of the users for the game is lower, and on the other hand, the tendency of replacing and using appeared higher, so the market entry barrier for a new game can be evaluated to be low. Reversely, as the degree of competition is lower, (${\cdots}$ > Arcade/Board > RPG) the royalty and the ratio of reusing of the users for the game is higher, and on the other hand, the tendency of replacing and using appeared lower, so the market entry barrier for a new game can be evaluated to be high.
