  • Video scene segmentation is fundamental role for content based video analysis. In this paper, we propose a new region based video scene segmentation method using continuity test for each object region which is segmented by the watershed algorithm for all frames in video data. For this purpose, we first classify video data segments into classes that are the dynamic and static sections according to the object movement rate by comparing the spatial and shape similarity of each region. And then, try to segment each sections by grouping each sections by comparing the neighbor section sections by comparing the neighbor section similarity. Because, this method uses the region which represented on object as a similarity measure, it can segment video scenes efficiently without undesirable fault alarms by illumination and partial changes.

  • This study analyzed the concentration of the lead in blood (n=774) from May, 2007 to Oct 2007. The subject was residents in G, Y, H industrial area, Jeollanam-do, in which exposure to the lead is expected due to the adjacency of the industrial complex. As to the lead concentration in the blood of the residents in the whole exposed region and the comparing region, $2.81{\mu}g/dl$ in the exposed region group, and $2.86{\mu}g/dl$ in the comparing region group Respectively, which indicates that the concentration of the comparing group was higher than that of the exposed group. The geometric mean concentration of lead in blood was $3.26{\mu}g/dl$ as to men, and $2.46{\mu}g/dl$ as to women, which indicates that the concentration of men is higher than that of women (p<0.01). The lead concentration for each age group increased in proportion to age except those under 10 for some substances (p<0.01). As to geometric mean concentration in blood according to the smoking history of the subject, the concentration of the smoking group and the non-smoking group was $3.57{\mu}g/dl$ and $2.66{\mu}g/dl$ respectively, which indicates the former is higher than the latter (p<0.01). To clarify the factors affecting the heavy metal concentration in blood among the subjects, the multiple regression analysis was conducted. As a result, it turned out that as to lead content in blood, gender, age, smoking all affect the lead concentration of the subjects ($R^2$=23.3%).

  • Conventional pixel based region segmentation methods have problems of long processing time and incorrect region split on account of performing region split through comparison of neighboring pixels. In this paper, we propose the method which segments a large size of satellite image effectively using modified centroid linkage method. This method is a sort of region split and merge. The proposed method merges pixels and makes them as a new region through only two directional comparing the current positioning pixel with neighbor ones, if they are satisfied with given conditions. Therefore, this method has less comparing time than the cases of previous ones. The experimental result shows that the proposed method is very efficient because of having less processing time and more exact segmented regions than the previous ones.

  • Moving objects in video data are main elements for video analysis and retrieval. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for tracking and segmenting moving objects in color image sequences that include complex camera motion such as zoom, pan and rotating. The Proposed algorithm is based on the Mean-shift color segmentation and stochastic region matching method. For segmenting moving objects, each sequence is divided into a set of similar color regions using Mean-shift color segmentation algorithm. Each segmented region is matched to the corresponding region in the subsequent frame. The motion vector of each matched region is then estimated and these motion vectors are summed to estimate global motion. Once motion vectors are estimated for all frame of video sequences, independently moving regions can be segmented by comparing their trajectories with that of global motion. Finally, segmented regions are merged into the independently moving object by comparing the similarities of trajectories, positions and emerging period. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is capable of segmenting independently moving objects in the video sequences including complex camera motion.

  • This paper is to make up the climograph using standard weather data of the region of Seoul. It is made up by existed standard weather data of which the subjected region is Seoul in order to easily use work. The factors of weather data are outside air temperature and its absolute humidity, total solar radiation, amount of clouds, wind direction, and wind velocity. The standard weather data are verified by comparing with values of the existed degree day method. As the result of their verification, the difference of the data showed less than 3% each other. And, reliability of standard weather data is thought to be same as those of degree day.

  • One of the most important factors in tall buildings design in urban spaces is wind. The present study aims to investigate the aerodynamic behavior in the square and triangular footprint forms through aerodynamic modifications including rounded corners, chamfered corners and recessed corners in order to reduce the length of tall buildings wake region. The method used was similar to wind tunnel numerical simulation conducted on 16 building models through Autodesk Flow Design 2014 software. The findings revealed that in order to design tall 50 story buildings with a height of about 150 meters, the model in triangular footprint with aerodynamic modification of chamfered corner facing wind direction came out to have the best aerodynamic behavior comparing the other models. In comparison to the related reference model (i.e., the triangular footprint with sharp corners and no aerodynamic modification), it could reduce the length of the wake region about 50% in general. Also, the model with square footprint and aerodynamic modification of chamfered corner with the corner facing the wind could present favorable aerodynamic behavior comparing the other models of the same cluster. In comparison to the related reference model (i.e., the square footprint with sharp corners and no aerodynamic modification), it could decrease the wake region up to 30% lengthwise.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm that extracts lung region in X-Rays and enhance.j the region. Comparing to prior algorithms that enhance whole X-Ray image, this algorithm leads more effective results. For this algorithm extracts lung region first, and enhances the lung region excluding parameters of other region. For choosing optimal threshold, we compare OTSU's mothod with the proposed method. We obtain lung boundary using contour following algorithm and Rray level searching method in gray level rescaled image. We Process histogram equalization in lung region and obtain enhanced lung image. By using the proposed algorithm, we obtain lung region effectively in chest X-Ray that need in medical image diagnostic system.

  • In this paper, we proposed a content-based image retrieval using a color feature for central region and its optimized comparing bin method. Human's visual characteristic is influenced by existent of central object. So we supposed that object is centrally located in image and then we extract color feature at central region. When the background of image is simple, the retrieval result can be bad affected by major color of background. Our method overcome this drawback as a result of the human visual characteristic. After we transform Image into HSV color space, we extract color feature from the quantized image with 16 level. The experimental results showed that the method using the eight high rank bin is better than using the 16 bin The case which extracts the feature with image's central region was superior compare with the case which extracts the feature with the whole image about 5%.

  • In this paper, content-based retrieval for region of interest(ROI) has been described, using maximum bin color. From a given query image, the object of interest is selected by a user. Using maximum bin color of the selected object, candidate regions are extracted from database images. The final regions of interest are determined by comparing the normalized histograms of the selected object and each candidate region.
