근로자의 건강증진에 대한 체계적 문헌고찰 참여적 실행연구와 지역사회기반 참여연구 중심으로 (A Systematic Review of The Health Promotion for Workers; Participatory Action Research and Community Based participatory Research)

  • 본 연구는 사업장과 지역사회에서 이루어진 PAR, CBPR을 중심으로 국내 외 문헌을 체계적 고찰을 하였다. 검토된 10개 논문의 연구 참여자는 보건전문가, 지역사회 네트워크, 근로자, 대학 연구자가 포함된 연구가 80%였고, 적용된 실행연구 기반 건강증진 프로그램은 안전 건강관리인식, 금연, 당뇨관리, 신체활동, 자기효능감 증진, 심혈관 질환, 근골격계 질환, 정신 건강 등 다양했다. 건강증진을 위해서는 지역사회 공동 작업을 통해 연구에 주도적으로 참여하는 것이 필수적이며, 이런 과정을 통하여 지역사회 차원의 문제를 해결할 수 있다. 또한 협력하며 건강증진프로그램을 개발하고 적용했을 때 지속가능한 효과를 확인할 수 있었다. PAR, CBPR은 개인과 조직, 지역사회, 제도적 차원의 범위를 조정하여 지속적인 변화를 추구할 것으로 사료되므로 다양한 사업장에서 근로자를 대상으로 활발히 수행되길 기대한다.

지역사회 노인을 위한 주택수리 및 개조 최저기준에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Minimum Standards of Housing Repair for Older People Living in the Community)

  • The purpose of this study is 1) to clarify that the house is no long the safe place through the cases of the senior safety accidents and to argue the need for housing repair and 2) to present the minimum standards for housing repair by comparing the cases here as well as the abroad and to back up the standards with the current senior housing environment 300 people at least 60 years old living in Seoul$\cdot$Metropolitan area were interviewed using the structured questionnaire. As the result, the following conclusions were made: 1. There was high accident rates of the senior residents due to physical deficits within the house, causing excessive medical cost and decreased housing satisfaction. This problem can be sufficiently prevented by housing repair which can not only solve the safety problem but also support self sufficient living for the senior residents. 2. Proper housing repair required the architectural know how as well as the expertise knowledge of the physical characteristics of the senior people. Therefore, it is essential to secure the professional (i.e., occupational therapist) who can analyze the needs of the senior residents and evaluate and/or predict the obstacles during repair. Furthermore, development and distribution of the standardized manual are also needed. 3. The minimum standard for housing repair could be approached in view of 'barrier-free' concept. First, the bumps should be removed, slippery prevented, and safety grab-bar installed for safety. Second, the entrance should be widened and the bathroom and kitchen restructured to support for the senior residents' self sufficiency. To make housing repair policy more efficient, the legal basis is required. It can be incorporated into the existing senior citizens 'Welfare Act' or the 'Senior Residents Medical Insurance' which will be effective starting in 2007.

고등학생의 우울 및 스트레스와 건강위험행위와의 관련성 (Relationship between Depression, Stress and Health Risk Behaviors among Some High School Students)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to examine the association between depression and stress and health risk behaviors of high school students. Methods : Participants were 1134 high school student. he participants completed the following measures : Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), CES-D(Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale. Results : The more stress score of male students is high, the score of the problem act on safety was significantly higher. The higher the score depression was significantly higher safety risk behavior score, violent behavior, act tries to commit suicide, smoking behavior, drug use behavior, inappropriate weight loss behavior, irregular eating habit, non-physical activity behavior. The more stress score of female students is significantly high was higher safety risk behavior score, irregular eating habit, non-physical activity behavior. The more depression score of female students is high was significantly higher safety risk behavior score, irregular eating habit, non-physical activity behavior. Conclusions: This study investigated the association between depression and stress and health risk behaviors, and helped in the development of programs to improve the health management ability of high school students.

지구물리학적 방법을 이용한 방조제 유지·관리 체계 제안 (Suggestion for the Maintenance Program of the Sea Dike Using Geophysical Methods)

  • 방조제는 간척사업을 위한 중요한 시설물로서 방조제 내측의 담수 확보를 위한 중요한 기능을 담당한다. 정밀안전진단 과정에서는 전기비저항 탐사, 자연전위 탐사 등 지구물리학적 방법들이 일부 반영되고 있지만, 그 중요성에 비하여 적용방법과 획득된 자료의 해석기술에 관한 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 현재 진행되고 있는 육안조사 위주의 방조제 안전점검, 정밀안전진단 등 유지 관리 체계의 문제점을 파악한 후, 정밀안전진단의 조사방법에 대한 개선방안으로 지구물리학적 방법들에 대해 고찰하였다. 한편 주변 환경적 변화에 의한 제한적 요소들(조위변화에 따른 제체의 압력변화, 성토재의 다짐 특성, 제체 표면의 피복상태)을 고려하여 방조제 환경에 따른 맞춤형 지구물리학적 방법들을 제시하였다.

Heart Disease and Occupational Risk Factors in the Canadian Population: An Exploratory Study Using the Canadian Community Health Survey

  • Background: The objective of this study is to find temporal trends in the associations between cardiovascular disease and occupational risk factors in the context of the Canadian population. Methods: Population data were analyzed from the Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS) collected between 2001 and 2014 for trends over time between heart disease and various occupational risk factors: hours worked, physical exertion at work, and occupation type (management/arts/education, business/finance, sales/services, trades/transportations, and primary industry/processing). Results: We found no significant difference in the average number of hours worked/wk between individuals who report having heart disease in all years of data except in 2011 ($F_{1,96}=7.02$, p = 0.009) and 2012 ($F_{1,96}=8.86$, p = 0.004). We also found a significant difference in the degree of physical exertion at work in 2001 ($F_{1,79}=7.45$, p = 0.008). There were statistically significant results of occupation type on self-reported heart disease from 2003 to 2014. Conclusion: Canadian data from the CCHS do not exhibit a trend toward an association between heart disease and the number of hours worked/wk. There is an association between heart disease and physical exertion at work, but the trend is inconsistent. The data indicate a trend toward an association between heart disease and occupation type, but further analysis is required to determine which occupation type may be associated with heart disease.

기후변화와 식품안전에 관한 소고 (Impact of Climate Change on Food Safety: A Mini-review)

  • Objectives: This review examined the scientific evidence regarding the impact of climate change on food safety. Methods: The impact of climate change on food safety was assessed based on a survey of related publications reported in the past 20 years. The terms used for literature selection reflect three aspects: climate change; food; and food safety. Results: Climate change is expected to affect the key elements of food production - water and climate. These impact on food safety through many different pathways. Directly, food shortages according to the population grovoth result in a food security/food supply problem, These relationships are commonly understood. The indirect impacts include an increase in food-borne diseases and pathogens, increased mycotoxin production, and increased risk of pesticide residues in foods due to greater use of pesticides in response to warming and increased precipitation and the accompanying diseases in certain crops. Field studies and statistical and scenario analyses were performed to provide evidence. However, quantification of these relationships is still lacking. Conclusion: Adaptation measures at the local and community levels are essential since the pressures from weather and climate events may differ according to region and sector. It is recommended that we go beyond empirical observations of the association between climate change and food safety and develop more scientific explanations. We also need to explore alternative materials for bioenergy demands in order to improve sustainability.

Factors influencing the level of performance of patient safety nursing activities among hospital nurses

  • Purpose: This study investigated the performance of patient safety activities among hospital nurses and aimed to identify the factors influencing their performance of these activities. Methods: It employed a descriptive survey design, targeting 131 nurses currently working in hospitals. The data collection involved posting a guide to the study on an online social network for nurses (NURSECAPE) and recruiting nurses who understood the content and agreed to participate in the survey. The survey was conducted through a self-reporting method via a URL provided to research participants, and the data collection period was from August 11 to September 11, 2019. Results: The results revealed that 46.6% of the participants had experienced patient safety incidents, with falls being the most common. The factors influencing the performance of patient safety nursing activities among the participants were found to be the type of medical institution, community orientation, and environmental suitability in organizational health. These factors explained 38.5% of the variance. Conclusion: Based on these findings, it appears crucial to explore strategies for improving organizational health tailored to the characteristics of each hospital to facilitate better performance of patient safety activities among hospital nurses. Furthermore, subsequent studies are needed to objectively evaluate the adequacy of patient safety activity performance according to the size of the hospital.

Assessment of the Microbiological Quality of Vegetable from Urban Community Gardens in Korea

  • 도시 텃밭에서 재배되는 농산물의 대부분은 식탁에 바로 오르는 채소류로 안전성 확보가 요구되나 아직 이에 대한 자료가 없다. 본 연구는 도시 텃밭에서 재배되는 채소류의 생물학적 안전성을 평가하기 위한 기초 자료를 확보하기 위하여, 2012년 9월부터 10월 사이에 서울시내 11곳의 도시텃밭에서 채취한 9종 채소류(배추, 상추, 무잎, 시금치, 겨자잎, 쑥갓, 파, 양배추와 치커리) 530 표본을 대상으로 총호기성균(일반세균), 대장균/대장균군, Salmonella spp. Listeria monocytogenes 및 E. coli O157:H7 오염 수준을 정량적으로 혹은 정성적으로 평가하였다. 조사한 농산물에 존재하는 총호기성 세균과 대장균군의 평균 수는 각각 6.3 log CFU/g (범위, 3.8-8.1 log CFU/g) 및 4.3 log CFU/g (범위, 2.1-6.4 log CFU/g) 이었다. 대장균군은 전체 표본의 67%에서 발견되었다. 치커리에서 가장 많은 수의 총호기성 세균과 대장균군이 검출되었고, 부추에서 가장 적은 수의 대장균군 오염을 보였다. 대장균은 전체 채소류의 2.3%에서 발견되었으나, 농산물별로는 상추, 무잎, 갓과 치커리에서 발견되었다. 그렇지만, 조사한 농산물에서 식중독 유발 세균인 Salmonella spp., L. monocytogenes 및 E. coli O157:H7은 검출되지 않았다. 이상의 결과로 보아, 서울시내 도시텃밭에서 재배되는 채소류에서 식중독 유발 세균은 발견되지 않았으나, 재배 과정중 대장균군 및 대장균의 오염을 줄이기 위한 노력이 요구된다.

An Analysis of Trainers' Perspectives within an Ecological Framework: Factors that Influence Mine Safety Training Processes

  • Background: Satisfactory completion of mine safety training is a prerequisite for being hired and for continued employment in the coal industry. Although training includes content to develop skills in a variety of mineworker competencies, research and recommendations continue to specify that specific limitations in the self-escape portion of training still exist and that mineworkers need to be better prepared to respond to emergencies that could occur in their mine. Ecological models are often used to inform the development of health promotion programs but have not been widely applied to occupational health and safety training programs. Methods: Nine mine safety trainers participated in in-depth semi-structured interviews. A theoretical analysis of the interviews was completed via an ecological lens. Each level of the social ecological model was used to examine factors that could be addressed both during and after mine safety training. Results: The analysis suggests that problems surrounding communication and collaboration, leadership development, and responsibility and accountability at different levels within the mining industry contribute to deficiencies in mineworkers' mastery and maintenance of skills. Conclusion: This study offers a new technique to identify limitations in safety training systems and processes. The analysis suggests that training should be developed and disseminated with consideration of various levels-individual, interpersonal, organizational, and community-to promote skills. If factors identified within and between levels are addressed, it may be easier to sustain mineworker competencies that are established during safety training.

부산지역 학교유형별 영양(교)사의 지식요구도, 직무만족도 및 나트륨 급원재료 사용량 (The use Frequency and Amount of Food Sources of Sodium and Knowledge Requirement, and Job Satisfaction of Dietitians and Nutrition Teachers according to the School Types in Busan)

  • Objectives: To investigate the use frequency and amount of food sources of sodium and knowledge requirement, and job satisfaction with school food services according to the school types in Busan. Methods: A total of 98 schools were surveyed and knowledge requirement and job satisfaction were assessed using a questionnaire. In addition, the use frequency and amount of food sources of sodium for 10 school days were examined. Results: The response rate of the most difficult area among dietitians' tasks was significantly high in 'nutrition education and counseling' for elementary schools and 'hygiene management' for high schools (p < .05). The response rate of the factors to be considered in meal planning was significantly high in 'energy and nutrients requirement' for elementary schools and 'menu/taste preference of students' for middle and high schools (p < .05). The response rate of whether school food services affect health and eating habits of students or not was significant high in 'very helpful' for elementary schools (p < .001). The average sodium contents in the meals of elementary, middle and high schools was 1981.4 mg/meal/person/day, 1867.3 mg/meal/person/day and 1,329.9 mg/meal/person/day, respectively. For foods in highest sodium, Kimchi, Oribulgogi, and Kare rice were ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively. The main reason for not providing the fruits was 'price' among all groups. The knowledge requirement such as 'nutrition and menu management', 'nutrition education', and 'nutrition counseling' was significantly higher in elementary school compared with middle and high school (p < .001, p < .01, and p < .01 respectively). The dietitians and nutrition teachers of elementary schools have a higher job satisfaction compared with those of middle schools (p < .01). The job satisfaction was positively correlated with knowledge requirement of dietitians and nutrition teachers of elementary and middle schools. Conclusions: The results suggest that developing dietitians' education program about knowledge requirement contribute to increasing the school food service and job satisfaction in elementary and middle schools.
