  • The intelligent production plant called smart factories that apply information and communication technology (ICT) are collecting data in real time through various sensors. Recently, researches that effectively applying to these collected data have gained a lot of attention. This paper proposes a method for the tool condition monitoring based on the sound signal generated in machining process. First, it not only detects a fault tool, but also presents various tool states according to idle and active operation. The second, it's to represent the power spectrum of the sounds as images and apply some transformations on them in order to reveal, expose, and emphasize the health patterns that are hidden inside them. Finally, the contrast-enhanced PSD image obtained is diagnosed by using CNN. The results of the experiments demonstrate the high discrimination potential afforded by the proposed sound PSD image + CNN and show high diagnostic results according to the tool status.

  • This paper deals with the paddle type end of arm tool for rescue robot instead of rescue worker in dangerous environments such as fire, earthquake, national disaster and defense. It is equipped at the dual arm manipulator of the rescue robot to safely lift up an injured person. It consists of the paddle for lifting person, sensors for detecting insertion of person onto the paddle, sensor for measuring the tilting angle of the paddle, and mechanical compliance part for preventing incidental injuries. The electronics is comprised of the DAQ module to acquire the sensors data, the control module to treat the sensors data and to manage the errors, and the communication module to transmit the sensors data. After optimally designing the mechanical and electronical parts, we successfully made the paddle type end of arm tool and evaluated its performance by using specially designed jigs. The developed paddle type end of arm tool is going to be applied to the rescue robot for performance verification through field testing.

  • In recent space industry, It has become a major trend to launch lunar exploration satellites to extend activities in the deep space environment. In this paper, a link budget analysis is carried out for the lunar exploration satellite. One of the major difference between the lunar satellite and LEO spacecraft lies in the orbit parameters. The vast distance between spacecraft and the Earth station imposes a challenging task for the spacecraft designers in terms of achieving stable communication link budget. The satellite tool kit software has been adopted to simulate the lunar exploring satellite. The relative distance between the spacecraft and the ground stations are tracked and the communication link budget is calculated accordingly.

  • The purpose of this research is to develop a collaborative architectural design system. Design collaboration requires an extensive use of communication methods as well as the participation of various experts from different domains. Such facts address several issues when the Internet and digital media are able to create a completely new work environment. The building design process was studied, and possible modes of design collaboration were defined. A prototype system is being developed in accordance with the defined collaboration model. The system integrates a set of communication tools and web-based design media. Such media include a synchronous multi-user web CAD tool, a schematic 3D design tool, and a electronic whiteboard. A project database was designed in order to coordinate the project-wide communication which elaborates technologies such as web-based data access. In order to find out the effectiveness of the system, a usability test was performed both in quantitative and qualitative manner. The research will contribute to the development of world-wide design and construction collaboration through the Internet, which is becoming a mainstream building process model.

  • The media is a tool for communication. Social media, which was created by the modern science and technology, was considered to be the best communication tool. However, despite the current wide spread of social media, social communication is a serious problem in Korea enough to be called a crisis of communication. What is the reason and measures of communication problems? This paper was planned from the awareness of these problems. First, a number of features and possibilities of social media in journalism are discussed in chapter 2. In chapter 3, the role of social media having regard to the social communication was considered in comparison to traditional media. Finally, the value which the newly emerging social media should pursue was discussed in connection with the value which was pursued by the traditional journalism, then the new value to be added to journalism at the level of ethics presented in chapter 4.

  • This research aims at a new practical Intent fuzzing tool for detecting Intent vulnerabilities of Android apps causing the robustness problem. We proposed two new ideas. First, we designed an Intent specification language to describe the structure of Intent, which makes our Intent fuzz testing tool flexible. Second, we proposed an automatic tally method classifying unique failures. With the two ideas, we implemented an Intent fuzz testing tool called Hwacha, and evaluated it with 50 commercial Android apps. Our tool offers an arbitrary combination of automatic and manual Intent generators with executors such as ADB and JUnit due to the use of the Intent specification language. The automatic tally method excluded almost 80% of duplicate failures in our experiment, reducing efforts of testers very much in review of failures. The tool uncovered more than 400 unique failures including what is unknown so far. We also measured execution time for Intent fuzz testing, which has been rarely reported before. Our tool is practical because the whole procedure of fuzz testing is fully automatic and the tool is applicable to the large number of Android apps with no human intervention.

  • Social networking service(SNS) helps users manage, share and delivery a vast information as a communication tool. When users read crisis news in SNS, they communicate the information with others by considering not only their belief (i.e., cognitive risk perception) but also emotion (i.e., affective risk perception). However, few researches have been interested in the construct of communication behaviors of crisis in SNS. This study aimed to explore the role of risk perception (cognitive and affective risk perception) between crisis responsibility and communication behavior through dual processing theory. As a result of the empirical analysis, crisis responsibility had a positive effect on cognitive risk perception and affective risk perception. In addition, cognitive risk perception had no significant effect on communication behavior whereas affective risk perception had influence on communication behavior positively. Thus, our findings may predict that the affective risk perception through crisis responsibility is more potentially important to communication behavior such as sharing information rather than cognitive risk perception. The results give insightful ideas why marketer should reduce perceived emotion caused by risk to strengthen prospective SNS users understanding of communication behavior intention.

  • Computer-mediated communication(CMC) media has various forms through the technical improvements of computer and network, and CMCs communication methods are also comparative free rather than any other existing media without the limitation of time and space. Various CMC media were adopted by a lot of organizations for their communication tool. Thus, it is important to understand relationships of affecting factors to user's communication satisfaction for choosing the effective CMC media in their organizations. In this paper, we identify factors that may affect the communication satisfaction of users that has utilized the CMC media, and validate empirically the relationships between the identified factors in KOPTI. In the research model developed and described herein, perceived media richness was significantly associated with communication satisfaction and perceived usefulness was significantly associated with perceived media richness. Furthermore, perceived ease of use was significantly associated with perceived usefulness.

  • This research attempts to analyze communication effect of book-trailer as the promotion tool for book from various genre. For this research, existing book-trailers were classified into five types and prospective readers were selected as respondents for this research. Letter explanation type, Interview, cinematic production, stills and straplines, and animation were major type of book-trailer. Findings are 1) communication effect are different according to the type of book-trailers; 2) cinematic production and animation are the most effective type of book-trailers; 3) for memory and confirmation(sharing), a)stills and straplines, interview type, b) cinematic production and animation are founded as similar groups creating communication effect. Result of this research proposed the direction of production and practical use of book-trailer by scientific basis for publication marketer and book-trailer producer. ANOVA was used for analysis of hypothesis; measuring communication effect according to the type of book-trailer and sexuality.
