  • Affective computing has gained increasing interest in the recent years with the development of potential applications in Human computer interaction (HCI) and healthcare. Although momentous research has been done on human emotion recognition, however, in comparison to speech and facial expression less attention has been paid to physiological signals. In this paper, Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals from different brain regions were investigated using modified wavelet energy features. For minimization of redundancy and maximization of relevancy among features, mRMR algorithm was deployed significantly. EEG recordings of a publically available "DEAP" database have been used to classify four classes of emotions with Multi class Support Vector Machine. The proposed approach shows significant performance compared to existing algorithms.

  • In this paper, for developing and implementing the HLS(Http Live Streaming) transmitter based embedded linux which is operated easily and cheap and lower power, portable in all networks and client environments compared to exist video live streaming transmitters. We design the developed HLS transmitter hardware using the Arm11 core and then porting the Embedded Linux OS(Operating System) and implementing the HLS protocol using the open source FFmpeg and Segmenter. For proving the performance of developed HLS transmitter, we make the testing environment for testing the performance of HLS transmitter including the notebook, iPhone, android Phone, Notebook and then analysis the received video in the client displayer. In this paper, we suggest the developed HLS transmitter performance data values higher than the Apple company's HLS recommended specification values and the picture of developed HLS transmitter operation in the testing environment. The application field of this paper result is that the man who works in the emergency situation take HLS and transmit the live emergency situation to the head quarter using this portable HLS.

  • A systematic design approach for Power distribution network (PDN) is presented aiming at applications to DRAM module designs. Three main stages are comprised in this design approach: modeling and simulation of a PDN based on a two-dimensional transmission line structure employing a partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC); verification of the simulation results through comparison to measured values; and design space scanning with PDN parameters. Impedance characteristics for do-coupling capacitors are analyzed to devise an effective way to stabilize power and ground plane Performance within a target level of disturbances. Self-impedance and transfer-impedance are studied in terms of distance between circuit features and the size of do-coupling capacitors. A simple equation has been derived to find the do-coupling capacitance values yielding impedance lower than design target, and thereby reducing the overall computation time. The effectiveness of the design methodology has been demonstrated using a DRAM module with discrete do-coupling capacitors and a strip structure.

  • This thesis deals with solutions such as coverage area extension, reduction of the shadow region and performance enhancement of handover caused by structural modification of WiBro network. The More far the distance of RAS(Radio Access Station) and SS(Subscriber Station) is in micro cell, the more bad the quality of channel environment becomes owing to radio interference. Consequently, it causes the deterioration of the throughput and also the deterioration of communication quality in many sides. In fact, most users of WiBro are located in the region, the QPSK region which is bad in point of channel quality. It brings the service complaint by user. We select RS(relay station) to solve the matter caused by channel environment in this cell, and extend coverage and improve the performance of handover call blocking.

  • This paper suggests the packet loss recovery method to communicate in real time in the Internet. To reduce the effects of packet loss, Forward Error Correction (FEC) that adds redundant information to voice packets can be used. Adaptive Multi Rate Wideband(AMR-WB) codec which is recently selected by the Third Generation Partnership Project(3GPP) for GSM and the third generation mobile communication WCDMA system and has also been standardized in ITU-T for providing wideband speech services is used. The major cause for speech qualitly degradation in IP-networks is packet loss. So, We recovered single lossy packet by using FEC method and concealed continued errors. The proposed scheme if evaluated in the Gilbert Internet channel model. The high quality of audio maintained up to 30% packet loss.

  • Inexpensive high performance computer systems combined with high speed networks and machine independent communication libraries have made cluster computing a viable option for parallel applications. In a heterogeneous cluster environment, efficient resource management is critically important since the computing power of the individual computer system is a significant performance factor when executing applications in parallel. This paper presents a dynamic task manager, called DWM (dynamic work manager). It makes a heterogeneous cluster system fully utilize the different computing power of its individual computer system. We measure the performance of DWM in a heterogeneous cluster environment with several kernel-level benchmark programs and their programming complexity quantitatively. From the experiments, we found that DWM provides competitive performance with a notable reduction in programming effort.

  • Visualizations have played an important role in understanding new insights of users of social network for social network analysis. Most of the previous works of visualization focus on representing user's relationship on social network by a complex multi dimension graph. However, this method is difficult to identify the important of relationship to focus on personal user intuitively. Besides, the user's messages to reflect the interrelation between users is insufficient, since most of visualization methods represent the user relationship using information of interaction between nodes on networks. In order to resolve above problem, this paper proposes a new visualization method to visualize user based hierarchy that uses internal relationship of users by fuzzy relational product and external access information of network.

  • As WSN is energy constraint so energy efficiency of nodes is important. Because avoiding long distance communication, clustering operating in rounds is an efficient algorithm for prolonging the lifetime of WSN and its performance depends on duration of a round. A short round time leads to frequent re-clustering while a long round time increases energy consume of cluster heads more. So existing clustering schemes determine proper round time, based on the parameters of initial WSN. But it is not appropriate to apply the round time according to initial value throughout the whole network time because WSN is very dynamic networks nodes can be added or vanished. In this paper we propose a new algorithm which calculates the round time relying on the alive node number to adapt the dynamic WSN. Simulation results validate the proposed algorithm has better performance in terms of energy consumption of nodes and loss rate of data.

  • A Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is form of the Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET) to provide temporary communication among vehicles via wireless links. In VANET, the vehicle is one of the nodes in networks and communicates with each other. However, the wireless links disconnect very frequently, because vehicles have mobility and move freely. The reason why data accessibility degrades is that disconnection occurs frequently. To improve data accessibility, data replica allocation methods that made group to allocate data replica have proposed in MANET. However, those are not suitable because it is difficult to maintain stable links among the nodes moving fast by centralized group. In this paper, we proposed TBG (Tree Based Grouping) to allocate data replica with the distributed grouping method. Each node has own TBG and allocates data replica based on stability of links to improve data accessibility. The experiment demonstrates that the proposed method outperforms traditional methods in term of data accessibility.

  • The IEEE WAVE-based communication systems do not provide handover services since most of the application layer messages of a small amount containing text data that are related to safe driving. Multimedia data service such as web pages and CCTV video clips, however, require a seamless handover for continuation of a session via multiple RSUs. In this paper, we propose a new proactive handover protocol based on IEEE WAVE. According to the proposed handover protocol, the OBU notifies the old RSU of its departure from the coverage such that the old RSU forwards to the new RSU the data heading towards the OBU to be cached for the further delivery upon its entry into the new RSU's coverage. The simulation results are presented which shows the performance of the proposed protocol in terms of throughput, delivery ratio and handover delay.
