  • Previous document clustering method, NSTC measures similarities between two document pairs using TF-IDF during web document clustering. In this paper, we propose new similarity measure using common phrase-based relational graph, not TF-IDF. This method suggests that weighting common phrases by relational graph presenting relationship among common phrases in document collection. And experimental results indicate that proposed method is more effective in clustering document collection than NSTC.

  • This paper presents common speech database collection for telecommunication applications. During 3 year project, we will construct very large scale speech and text databases for speech recognition, speech synthesis, and speaker identification. The common speech database has been considered various communication environments, distribution of speakers' sex, distribution of speakers' age, and distribution of speakers' region. It consists of Korean continuous digit, isolated words, and sentences which reflects Korean phonetic coverage. In addition, it consists of various pronunciation style such as read speech, dialogue speech, and semi-spontaneous speech. Thanks to the common speech databases, the duplicated resources of Korean speech industries are prohibited. It encourages domestic speech industries and activate speech technology domestic market.

  • This study analyzed Korean university libraries' holdings of Western language books published in 2003 and 2013 using the KERIS union catalog with a view to investigating the changes in collection development of Western language books in the libraries. To do that, new collection indexes - holding h-index, CUI (Collection Uniqueness Index), and CCHR (Common Collection Holding Ratio) - were suggested, and they were used with basic indexes such as the number of titles, the number of books, and the number of books per title. The analysis reveals that compared to those published in 2003, the number of titles was decreased by 16.1% with those published in 2013, and the number of books dropped more sharply, by 42.2%. Also, in 2013, CCHR was decreased while CUI was increased. In terms of subject, among DDC main classes, 0XX (Generalities) showed the greatest decrease rate in both the number of titles and books because of the radical reduction of computer-related books. In terms of each library's holdings, the number of Western language books held by top libraries has been increased with those published in 2013.

  • Significant costs to the public and private sectors due to recent extreme wind events have motivated the need for systematic post-hurricane damage data collection and analysis. Current post disaster data are collected by many different interested groups such as government agencies, voluntary disaster relief agencies, representatives of media companies, academicians and companies in the private sector. Each group has an interest in a particular type of data. However, members of each group collect data using different techniques. This disparity in data is not conducive to quantifying damage data and, therefore, inhibits the statistical and spatial description of damage and comparisons of damage among different extreme wind events. The data collection does not allow comparisons of data or results of analyses within a group and also prohibits comparison of damage data and information among different groups. Typically, analyses of data from a given event lead to different conclusion depending upon the definition of damage used by individual investigators and the type of data collected making it difficult for members of groups to compare the results of their analyses with a common language and basis. A formal method of data collection and analysis-within any single group-would allow comparisons to be made among different individuals, hazardous events and eventually among different groups, thus facilitating the management and reduction of damage due to future disaster. This research introduces a definition of damage to single family dwellings, and a common method of data collection and analysis suited for groups interested in regional characterization of damage. The current state-of-data is presented and a method for data collection is recommended based on these existing data collection methods. A fixed-scale damage index is proposed to consider the damage to a dwelling's feature. Finally, the damage index is applied to three dwellings damaged by Hurricane Iniki (1992). The damage index reflects the reduced functionality of a structure as a single family detached dwelling and provides a means to evaluate regional damage due to a single event or to compare damage due to events of different severity. Evaluation of the damage index and the data available support recommendation for future data collection efforts.

  • The effect on collection efficiency with 2-stage vortex finder diameter and back mixing of solid flow due to swirling intensity, turbulence eddies, wall bouncing using the residence time distribution of particle flow in a common and modified cyclone. Higher collection efficiencies of fly ash in a modified cyclone(S = 13, 15cm) are showed than common cyclone. Collection efficiency in modified cyclone was highest at 2-stage vortex finder diameter, S = 13 cm. Variances of residence time distribution and average residence times of glass bead were increased with a diameter(S) of 2-stage vortex finder due to swirling intensity and turbulence eddies. Back mixing of solid flow in a modified cyclone were increased with a gas inlet velocity and showed higher than a common cyclone.

  • The core competence of the library originates from the huge analog collections and the high-quality digital contents. And when the interaction between two entities strengthens, it will be able to secure the identity as the time capsule and the gateway of knowledge information. Based on these prerequisites, this research analyzed the spectra of digital collection development and presented the various strategies about license of the electronic journals, internet collection development, institutional repository. When the library does not concentrate in digital collection development, the position as information common will be under losing.

  • An investigation was made to find regional differences and seed characteristics of buckwheats collected from 36 areas in Chungnam province in 1984, and the results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. Grain types of the collected buckwheats were classified as winged, semi-winged and common types. All collections were on the average composed of 50.1 % of common grain types, 26.8 % of semi-winged type and 23.1 % of winged types, respectively. However, there was a great regional difference in components of each grain type among collections. 2. The mean 1000 grain weight was 24.9 gr. The regional differences in 1000 grain weight showed that a collection (collection no. 30) from Susan was 17.4 gr and a collection (collection. no. 16) from Suchon was 31.9 gr. There wasn't any significant relationship between grain types component and 1000 grain weight. 3. Germination of seeds was accelerated as temperature goes up from $5^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$. However, interesting germination pattern was observed. That is, seeds from Suchon (collection no. 16), Hongsung (collection no. 23), Cheonweon(collection no. 35), and Yesan (collection no. 27) showed abrupt decrease of germination rate at the temperature of $15^{\circ}C$. The seeds collected from Suchon (collection no. 29), Dangjin (collection no. 32) and from Chungyang (collection no. 21) showed decrease of germination rate at $25^{\circ}C$. These seeds showed, however, the increase of germination percentage at temperature higher than $15^{\circ}C$ and $25^{\circ}C$, respectively. The germination rate for the most collections at $5^{\circ}C$ was less than 10%. However, seeds from Asan (collection no. 33) and Daeduk (collection no. 3) showed 20% and 30% of germination rate at $5^{\circ}C$, respectively. 4. Color of seed coat could be classified into two maj or colors, dark and dark brown. Based on the seed coat color and grain types, all the collections could be classified into the following six categories: winged-black, semi-winged-black, common-black, winged-dark brown, semi-winged dark brown and common-dark brown. The different light absorption rate was found within the UV light zone (190-390 nm) depending upon the two different major seed coat color.

  • In this paper, we introduce new types of weakly Picard operators being available to a much wider class of maps, and prove common fixed point theorems of Subrahmanyam type for two these weakly Picard operators in the collection of single-valued and multi-valued mappings in complete metric spaces. Our results extend and generalize the corresponding fixed point theorems in the literature [3, 6].

  • The hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si : H) holds good promise for radiation detection from its inherent merits over crystalline counterpart. For the application to alpha spectroscopy, the induced charge collection in a-Si : H pin detector diodes ons simulated based on a relevant non-uniform charge generation model. The simulation was peformed for the initial energy and the range of incident alpha particles, detector thickness and the operational parameters such as the applied reverse bias voltage and shaping time. From the simulation, the total charge collection was strongly affected by hole collection as expected. To get a reasonable signal generation, therefore, the hole collection should be seriously considered for detector operational parameters such as shaping time and reverse voltage etc. For the spectroscopy of alpha particle from common alpha sources, the amorphous silicon should have about 70${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ thickness.
