  • As digital ecosystem has been rapidly transforming into the mobile based platform, several mobile operating system, which is in charge of user interface with mobile device has been appeared. This research suggest critical factors affecting success and failure of several commercial mobile operating systems from Palm OS appearing in 1996 to main mobile OSs appearing in 2013. For this, we analyse several mobile operating OS cases, elicit factors affecting success and failure of mobile OS, and conduct ID3 based inductive learning analyses based on elicted factors and values in case dataset. Through this, we draw rules in success and failure of mobile OS and suggest strategic implications for the commercial success of mobile OS.

  • Crowdfunding has emerged as an important financing source for diverse cultural projects and commercial ventures in the early stages. Unlike traditional investment evaluation, where structured financial data is critical, such information is typically unavailable for crowdfunding campaigns. Instead, campaign creators prepare pitches containing essential information about themselves and the campaigns, which are crucial in attracting and persuading contributors. Prior literature has examined the effects of different aspects in campaign pitches, but a comprehensive understanding of the theme is lacking. This study aims to fill this gap by identifying the lexicon of frequently used vocabulary in campaign pitches and examining how they are associated with crowdfunding success. Moreover, we examine how the association differs between culture and commercial crowdfunding campaigns. We randomly collected 50,000 campaigns from the cultural and commercial categories on Kickstarter and extracted the 100 most used verbs in the campaign pitches. Based on a machine learning approach combined with principal component analysis, we constructed sets of verbal factors statistically significant in predicting crowdfunding success. The findings also show that cultural and commercial campaigns consist of different verbal components with different effects on crowdfunding success.

So Urban regeneration project include a various project. Project management of Urban Regeneration project is widely different with general project management. For that purpose, this research would offer to contribute the success factors of urban regeneration project for successful project. For offering these, this research analyzed the properties of urban regeneration project and success factors of construction project by reviewing a literature. The principal characteristics are variety objectives of each district of urban regeneration project, a diversity of stakeholder's objectives and complex structure of stakeholders, an unstructured decision-making system, a lack of plan for business cooperation. We abstracted factors for urban regeneration from brainstorming and verification by experienced experts. We suggest 2 factors related to achieving a goal effectively and 10 factors related to progress of urban regeneration project efficiently.

  • The development of ICT technology centered on mobile smart platforms have been emerging as a shared economic platform based on collaborative consumption. In this study, we analyze what factors affect success and failure in commercialized shared economic platforms from 2008 to 2016, and present what policy factors are needed to activate shared economic platform. To do this, we analyze successful cases of shared economic platforms and failed cases, derive key variables that affect success and failure, and conduct inductive analysis based on ID 3 algorithm based on them. Through this, we present the policy factors for the commercial success of the shared economic platform by deriving the rules for the success and failure of the shared economic platform.

  • After a few recent documentary films had commercial success, factors for their success are getting attention. This paper explores the factors of the financial success of two documentary films. "My Love, Don't Cross That River" gained extended popularity with its universal message, and "Two Doors" conveyed a poweful political message. This paper conducted a case study by inteviewing production directors and distribution managers. Analysis was based on the three categories suggested by Litman and Kohl(1989): creative sphere, distribution-scheduling release pattern, and marketing efforts. Findings present the common factors of the two movies' success in the following areas: persons and events showing a powerful reality, a message with new and fresh insight, artistic quality, distribution strategy with timely scheduling, release time (period), public relations, and advertising.. In addition, "My Love, Don't Cross That River" was helped by a sufficient budget for scheduling/releasing and advertising. Its wide-release stratergy worked as well. "Two Doors" was aided by the government support for release and by the special factor called 'Participating viewer'. By examining the factors of documentary films' commercial success, this study has an implication for the popularization of documentary movies by indicating how to strategically apply relevant factors.

  • The Purpose of this study is to Identify and analyze the factors that determine the survival or success of internet-based companies in the start-up phase. The reason why we focus on companies which are in the early stage of development is because internet business is still at its early stage, and statistics indicate that many internet businesses have failed during the start-up phase. Using the model of new product outcomes proposed by Cooper(1979), we have formulated a conceptual model for more successful internet business ventures. On the basis of this model, the relationship between the financial and non-financial performance and various variables in the model is analyzed. For collecting empirical data, a web-based survey questionnaire was designed. A total of 97 usable questionnaires were gathered from internet companies nationwide. The results showed that controllable variables such as the commercial entity and information acquired during the new business process are related to the non-financial performance, while environment variables such as the compatibility of the resource base of the firm with the business, including a few controllable variables, are related to the financial performance. Future research needs to explore more precisely how the success factors are different according to the types of internet businesses and/or the stages of growth of the business.

  • This study explores the factors contributing to the commercial success of remade films across countries by analyzing the original Hong Kong film Infernal Affairs and its remakes in the United States (The Departed), South Korea (New World), and Japan (Double Face). This paper analyzes the factors of success and failure based on Konstantin Verevis's remake film theory, focusing on aspects such as the selection of film texts, visual language, narrative structure, and cultural intertextuality. The analysis reveals that successful remade films enhance their visual appeal and strengthen emotional connections with audiences through structural completeness of the original text, creative narrative reconstruction, and differentiated cinematography. Conversely, the failure of some remakes is attributed to excessive replication of the original or the lack of consideration for cultural intertextuality, failing to resonate with audiences. This study emphasizes the need for an approach that maintains the identity of the original while incorporating new cultural sensibilities to achieve success in remakes. It aims to provide practical guidance that promotes multicultural exchange and cooperation in the global film market. The importance of strategic considerations in remaking films that reflect various cultural contexts is highlighted.
