An Efficient Weighted-Collaborative Sensing Scheme in Cognitive Radio

  • Cognitive Radio is an advanced enabling techlology for efficient utilization of under-utilized spectrum since it is able to sense the temporally available spectrum and adapt its parameters to fully utilize the frequency band. Recent investigation suggests that spectrum sensing is compromised when a cognitive radio user suffers from the environment with fading or shadowing. In order to combat the effect, collaborative sensing is considered to be a promising way, which combines the sensing result of each user to achieve good performance. However, the conventional collaborative sensing is not efficient when users suffer different fading environments. In this paper, we propose a weighted-collaborative scheme that considers using the weights of each collaborative CR user, which can achieve better sensing performance under both fast and slow fading environments. The analysis of the simulation resultsproves that the weighted-collaborative scheme improves sensing performance obviously and outperforms the conventional method.

  • The investment scale of design project has been increased rapidly following the recent social and economical demand. The demand of user has been changed variously together with social background like the increase of interest for the high level information oriented society and environment. In addition, it is necessary for the experts like coordinator, architect, color expert, and light designer to collaborate in the interior design process. The expertise diverse areas should be related closely and collaboratively for the smooth processing. It is necessary for the design environment to be changed in order to exchange the information effectively within the proposed period by the variety fields' experts. It is a collaborative design in the design studio that the multi-members collect the related data, suggest the idea, and discuss closely, which makes a decision for the new design concept and design plan in the fixed time. It is necessary to make a new kind of communication media concept in the design process, where the multi-members participate, and the collaborative design is processed in physically simultaneous space or in the far distance such as it is done above. In this paper, it is investigated for the communication for the design and creative behavior to explain the collaborative work in the process of design. The characteristics of collaborative design and demand design environment are summarized in the background of this kind of the creative behavior concept. Especially, the communication media for increasing the process effectiveness is explained and the concept for the development of web based collaborative design system is summarized.

  • 지식 정보화 시대의 새로운 교육 형태와 패러다임으로 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 학습할 수 있으며 학습자 중심 교육을 제공하는 e-러닝에 대한 관심이 고조되고 있다. 그러나 기대에 비해서는 현재까지 e-러닝에 대한 폭발적인 수요와 성장은 발생하지 않고 있는데, 현재 대부분의 e-러닝 교육 형태가 기존의 일방적인 주입식 교육 형태를 단순히 디지털화 하여 학습 콘텐츠의 반복 학습을 제공하는데 그쳐 학습자들의 적극적인 참여와 관심을 이끌어 내는데 실패하였기 때문이다. e-러닝 환경에서 학습자들의 자발적인 참여를 이끌어내고 학습의 몰입도를 높이기 위해 학습 과제를 여러 명의 학생들이 상호 의존하여 공동으로 해결함으로써 학습 목표를 달성하는 형태의 협력학습에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 학습자들 간의 상호작용 을 높이면서 학습행위를 촉진시키기 위한 협력 e-러닝 환경 구축 및 협력학습촉진 에이전트 적용 방안을 제시한다.

  • 웹 기반 학습은 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않고 활용될 수 있다는 점에서 효과적인 교육 방법으로 많은 관심을 받고 있다. 학습관리시스템은 교수와 학생들 간의 온라인 교육 환경을 제공하며, 학습 자원의 제공을 위한 다양한 기능을 지원한다. 일반적인 학습관리시스템들은 교수와 학생들 간의 단방향 또는 제한적인 양방향 교육 환경을 제공하여 교수와 학생 또는 학생들 서로 간에 협력 학습을 수행하기에 많은 어려움이 따른다. 본 논문에서는 대표적인 학습관리시스템인 Moodle에서 효과적인 협력 학습 환경을 제공하는 협업 워크스페이스의 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 다양한 형태로 제공되는 협업 워크스페이스를 통하여, 사용자들은 손쉽게 협력 학습을 수행하거나 적절한 접근 권한 제어 기법으로 학습 자원을 효과적으로 공유할 수 있다.

건축교육헌장에 기초한 커뮤니티 디자인교육에 관한 연구 (Community Design Education for Sustainable Environment)

  • Community design education has covered the worldview dimension of the collaborative courses for sustainability draws on the architectural expertise developed in a network of community projects and therefore case studies of design education by the collaborative project-based learning in terms of participants, students, teachers and architects, such as 'Learning By Design' for the K-12 comprehensive program in Massachusetts addresses how a local society can make its community sustainable by both design and education. To understand that community design and education can provide professional development in all levels of skills and knowledge across disciplines and opportunities for collaborative learning and problem-solving, this research consists of case studies of the community design education including social systems that assist in organizing the local educational program as well as promoting the programs with public awareness of the community. It covers the UNESCO-UIA agenda of the community design and education that is to enhance the physical environment relating to human interaction by developing innovative alternatives of existing community and contributing voluntarily to neighborhoods through design. As the community design collaborative of design professionals and users is a structural approach to assess design quality, the cases address how to set up the architectural program in order to share pro bono design service and provide high-quality design resources available for sustainable environment.

  • 컴퓨팅 자원 사용에 제약이 많은 임베디드 소프트웨어 개발에 있어서 성능 분석 도구는 품질 개선을 위해 매우 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 기존 임베디드 소프트웨어 성능 분석 도구들은 단일 개발자의 교차개발 지원을 위한 성능분석 환경만을 제공하기 때문에 임베디드 소프트웨어를 위한 협업 성능분석 도구로서 활용될 수 없다. 본 논문에서는 협업 환경에서 임베디드 소프트웨어 성능 분석을 효과적으로 수행하기 위한 서버 기반의 새로운 성능 분석도구를 제안한다. 제안하는 성능분석 도구는 개발 소프트웨어에 대해 실행한 성능 분석로그를 협업 개발자들 기호에 맞는 다양한 그래픽 뷰로 생성하여 개발자간의 신속하고 효율적인 정보 공유를 가능하게 함으로써 프로그램의 성능 향상을 위한 개발자의 성능 분석 환경을 크게 개선할 수 있다.

BEYTrans: A Free Online Collaborative Wiki-Based CAT Environment Designed for Online Translation Communities

  • This paper introduces BEYTrans (Better Environment for Your TRANSlation), the first experimental environment for free online collaborative computer-aided translation. The requirements and functionalities related to individual translators and communities of translators are distinguished and described. These functionalities have been integrated in a Wiki-based complete environment, equipped with all currently possible asynchronous linguistic resources and translation aids. Functions provided by BEYTrans are also compared with existing CAT systems and ongoing experiments are discussed.

A Collaborative Visual Language

  • There are many researches on visual languages, but the most of them are difficult to support various collaborative interactions on a distributed multimedia environment. So, this paper suggests a collaborative visual language for interaction between multi-users. The visual language can describe a conceptual model for collaborative interactions between multi-users. Using the visual language, generated visual sentences consist of object icons and interaction operators. An object icon represents a user who is responsible for a collaborative activity, has dynamic attributes of a user, and supports flexible interaction between multi-users. An interaction operator represents an interactive relation between multi-users and supports various collaborative interactions. Merits of the visual language are as follows: supporting of both asynchronous interaction and synchronous interaction, supporting flexible interaction between multi-users according to participation or leave of users, supporting a user oriented modeling, etc. For example, an application to a workflow system for document approval is illustrated. So we could be found that the visual language shows a collaborative interaction.

  • The research was aimed at finding the dynamic aspects of the linguistic and social interaction with mathematical concept development using a graphing calculator in collaborative learning. This study was broadly divided into two categories: "Knowledge Construction Statement" for understanding how the verbal interaction works when a graphing calculator is used, and "Teacher's Instructional Role" for the research on the reaction of the students and on the teacher's role as a guide in helping students to construct their knowledge. This research used a case study in a collaborative learning environment. An attempt was made to show clearly how the students interacted with one another in a technology environment using a graphing calculator as a tool. A graphing calculator promoted the students' linguistic interaction and changed the characteristics of the linguistic interaction. Although it didn't show the different aspects completely, some changes of the linguistic traits were perceived.aits were perceived.

  • In the future, a machine will be more improved in the form of advanced concept with collaborative ability in M2M(Machine to Machine, Mobile to Machine) environment for u-Manufacturing system. This paper tried to standardize M2M and design advanced concept machine. The M2M is front-end system for implementing autonomous ubiquitous environment. The advanced machine in M2M will be a collaborative machine with knowledge-evolutionary ability such as u-Machine(Ubiquitous machine), Vortal(Vertical Portal) machine and P2P(Peer to Peer) machine. Such advanced concept machines will be the key subject for M2M cooperation.
