  • There are physical and chemical method for removement of a lacquered layer existing on the surface when gilding an iron Buddha, these caused environmental pollution by surface degradation and is very noxious for conservation scientist's health. Thus, on this study, we conducted a lacquered layer removement experiments using Nd:YAG Laser which is contactless and eco-friendly. Specimens were made by polishing $5{\times}5$ size of iron(99.9%) specimens surfaces evenly and by differing of number of coating of unrefined lacquer, so there were thickness differences of $10{\mu}m$, $20{\mu}m$, and $30{\mu}m$. The laser machine used in this study was Nd:YAG Laser, and we used two wavelength modes; 1064 nm(160~180 mJ) for infrared light region and 532 nm(50~350 mJ) for ultraviolet light region. The experiment done by investigating the transition of specimens' surfaces with laser wavelength, energy, and numbers of investigation. The remain amount of lacquered layer surfaces before/after laser irradiation was investigated by stereoscopic microscope, observation by SEM, Non-contact Surface Roughness Measurement Device, and FT-IR etc. As a result of each analysis, we could verify the thickness of $10{\mu}m$, $20{\mu}m$ of lacquered layer removed without surface degradation when using 1064 nm wavelength with $1.0J/cm^2$ density. We could find out that Nd:YAG Laser is effective for removing remained lacquered layers when gilding an iron Buddha. In the future, when not only the metal has made various studies also wood lacquered furniture or the like, it seems to be utilized to remove the lacquer without surface damage.

  • Ostomates have suffered from many difficulties due to their physical, psychosocial handicaps and changes of life style to include ostoma management that influences their daily and quality of life. An appropriate nursing education for ostoma management is very important. Practical educational materials needs revision because those were developed by pharmaceutical companies and hospital institutions. The purpose of this study is to provide more practical and reasonable education materials for ostomates by doing analysis and survey of educational materials now being used. We surveyed 8 types of educational materials used in 23 university hospitals and medical centers in Seoul ; four of them were developed by department of nursing and the remainder by an Ostomy Company Data, collected from July 14, 1997 through July 31, 1997 were analyzed. The results are as follows ; 1. The analysis of education guide, on ostomate included 14 subcategories : introduction, structure and function of gastrointestinal tracts, definition of stoma, types of ostomy, definition of peristalsis, methods of defecation management, selection of instrument, resolution of problems and general situations following surgery, daily life, where to ask for help, explanations for terms, information about where to buy instrument, explanations for enterostomal therapist, a matter of consultation with doctor, etc. 2. Introduction contained specific contents on practical ostomate management that ostomates would experience through their lives. Ostomate education guides were developed 3 hospitals except one which missed this point. 3. Most ostomate education guides, except one hospital, helped ostomates to understand their physical structure changes with specific explanations on gastrointestinal tracts with figures. 4. Six institutions did not talk about the definition of peristalsis. 5. All institutions, except two, helped ostomates to understand types of ostomy with figures. 6. More detailed explanations on natural defecation are needed. The benefits and pitfalls of natural defecation should be more specified. 7 No psychosocial difficulties of ostomy management were addressed. 8. The efficiency of enema can be better understood through all explanations with figures. Some institutions did not mention items about definition, benefits, pitfalls of enema, sequency of enema, how to wash, cautions performing and enema, skin management, cleaning instrument after enema proper time to spend. 9. There were no detailed contents and what to do in case of not being able to do enema. 10. Only one educational material mentioned emotional aspects after the surgrey. 11. • Most of flame furnace with uncontrolled atmosphere forms oxidation scales in the surface during heat treatment. In this case, shot blasting and pickling are commonly used for reduction of oxidation scales. These processes have many disadvantages, such as long process time, high operating cost and environmental problems due to polishing dust, etc. Hence, this study aimed to develop the advanced heat treating equipment which could make a controlled atmosphere using a heatresisting structure into the flame furnace. The analysis result with SEM, EPMA, and EDX revealed that the amount of scales formed is much less than that with the conventional flame furnace. A brightness of the sample treated with the advanced process is similar compared to the treatment with vacuum furnace. In the present work, it was recommended that the inside structure of the furnace and gas line system could made up of SBB410 and STS310, respectively. The operating cost with the advanced heat treatment system could be reduced annually by forty million won. As a result of this study, it may be possible to reduce the oxidation scales. The fundamental information obtained in this study will be useful not only for improving the heat treatment process(reduction of shot blast and cleaning process), but for promoting the manufacture of bright products.

  • Background: Among women with haematuria, defining individuals under high risk for bladder cancer based on reproductive factors prior to cystoscopy would be of great benefit in the management of this condition. The aim of this study was to compare age and reproductive factors such as menopausal status, parity, age at first delivery and age at the last delivery between women who have haematuria with or without bladder cancer. Materials and Methods: A total of 463 patients underwent diagnostic cystoscopy in D$\ddot{u}$zce University Faculty of Medicine between 1 June 2008 and 1 June 2013. Female patients who presented with persistent microscopic or macroscopic haematuria and underwent standard evaluation for haematuria including urinalysis, urine culture, urine cytology, urinary tract imaging with excretory urography or computerized tomography with contrast enhancement and endoscopic evaluation of the urethra and bladder were included in this study. Exclusion criteria were tobacco use and high risk occupations for bladder cancer such as textile, dry cleaning, painting and etc. Forteen women had hematuria due to benign conditions, and 18 due to bladder cancer. Data were retrospectively retrieved from the medical records of Duzce University Hospital. Results: Patients with haematuria due to benign reasons did not significantly differ from patients who were found to have bladder cancer in terms of age (p=0.28), menopausal status (p=0.29), mean parity (p=0.38), being nulliparous (p=0.57), parity ${\geq}3$ (p=0.22), age ${\leq}18$ years at first delivery (p=1.00), age ${\geq}30$ years at last delivery (p=0.26), age ${\geq}35$ years at last delivery (p=0.23) and percentage of the patients with advanced age (${\geq}65$ years) (p=0.18). Conclusions: It is difficult to predict a high risk for developing bladder cancer in women with haematuria based solely on reproductive factors.

  • With the development of ICT technology, the indoor utilization of robots is increasing. Research on transportation, cleaning, guidance robots, etc., that can be used now or increase the scope of future use will be advanced. To facilitate the use of mobile robots in indoor spaces, the problem of self-location recognition is an important research area to be addressed. If an unexpected collision occurs during the motion of a mobile robot, the position of the mobile robot deviates from the initially planned navigation path. In this case, the mobile robot needs a robust controller that enables the mobile robot to accurately navigate toward the goal. This research tries to address the issues related to self-location of the mobile robot. A robust position recognition system was implemented; the system estimates the position of the mobile robot using a combination of encoder information of the mobile robot and the absolute space coordinate transformation information obtained from external video sources such as a large number of CCTVs installed in the room. Furthermore, vector field histogram method of the pass traveling algorithm of the mobile robot system was applied, and the results of the research were confirmed after conducting experiments.

  • Strong alkaline electrolyzed water which is produced in cathode by electrolyzing the solution where electrolytes (NaCl, $K_2CO_3$ etc.) are added in diaphragm electrolytic cell, is eco-friendly and has cleaning effects. So, it is viewed as a substitution of chemical cleaner. In addition, strong alkaline electrolyzed water is being used by some Japanese automobile and precision parts manufacturing industries. When strong alkaline electrolyzed water is produced by using diaphragm electrolytic cell, it is necessarily produced at the anode side. Since strong acidic electrolyzed water produced is discarded when its utilization cannot be found, production efficiency of electrolyzed water is consequently decreased. Also, there is a weakness electrolytic efficiency is decreasing due to the pollution of diaphragm. In order to overcome this, non-diaphragm all-in-one electrolytic cell integrated with electrode reaction chamber and dilution chamber was applied. Strong alkaline electrolyzed water was produced for different composition of electrolytes, and their properties and characteristics were identified. In comparing the properties between strong alkaline electrolyzed water produced in diaphragm electrolytic cell and that produced in all-in-one electrolytic cell, the differences in ORP and chlorine concentration were found. In emulsification test to confirm surface-active capability, similar results were obtained and strong alkaline electrolyzed water produced in non-diaphragm all-in-one electrolytic cell was identified to be useable as a cleaner like strong alkaline electrolyzed water produced in diaphragm electrolytic cell. Strong alkaline electrolyzed water produced in non-diaphragm all-in-one electrolytic cell is thought to have sterilizing power because it has active chlorine which is different from strong alkaline electrolyzed water produced in diaphragm electrolytic cell.

  • The climate of stall significantly influences on animal production ability. High concentration of ammonia gas, $CO_2$ and lots of dust are found in modern densely raising stall system, as results, they provide a negative influence on animal and farmer health, and production ability. Therefore, it is necessary to keep clean the inside air of stall to increase the productivity. An air cleaner of wet type, consisting of a fan, a motor, rotating discs, a dust collector, a water bowl, an ozone generator etc, has been developed to clean the stall air. The work principle is that the inside air is sucked through the fan, and the rotating discs make water into fineness spray and blow into the stall. The rest water flows down to the dust collector. In the present study, we measured the dust, ammonia gas, odor, temperature and humidity in a swine stall that were installed two wet air cleaners with 700 fattening swine with On-mode and Off-mode of wet air cleaners. The dust measure was divided into 3 categories, TSP, $PM_{10}$, and $PM_{2.5}$. In summer, the TSP in on-mode were maximum $0.259mg/m^3$ and minimum $0.128mg/m^3$, and the average was $0.195mg/m^3$. These are comparable to the data from Off-mode stall that maximum $0.308mg/m^3$, minimum $0.139mg/m^3$, and average $0.277mg/m^3$. However, $PM_{10}$ and $PM_{2.5}$ showed any significant differences between the tests. The concentrations of ammonia gas in Off-mode stall were maximum 13.8 ppm and minimum 5.9 ppm, and the average was 8.47 ppm. However in On-mode stall the ammonia gas concentrations were maximum 10.5 ppm and minimum 5.5 ppm, and the average was 7.63 ppm. The concentration of ammonia gas in On-mode was 10% in average lower than off-mode stall. Odor was measured by olfactometer. In the Off-mode stall, the odor unit were maximum 420 $Ou/m^3$ and minimum $300\;OU/m^3$, and the average was $367\;OU/m^3$, but in the On-mode stall the odor unit were maximum $330\;OU/m^3$ and minimum $210\;OU/m^3$, and the average was $253\;OU/m^3$. Odor removal efficiency was about 31% in On-mode stall.

  • In this study, we determine the optimal process conditions for selectively recovering Si from a solar cell surface by removal of impurities (Al, Zn, Ag, etc.). To selectively recover Si from solar cells, leaching is performed using HCl solution and an ultrasonic cleaner. After leaching, the solar cells are washed using distilled water and dried in an oven. Decompression filtration is performed on the HCl solution, and ICP-OES (Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission spectroscopy) full scan analysis is performed on the filtered solution. Furthermore, XRD (X-ray powder diffraction), XRF (X-ray fluorescence), and ICP-OES are performed on the dried solar cells after crushing, and the purity and recovery rate of Si are obtained. In this experiment, the concentration of acid solution, reaction temperature, reaction time, and ultrasonic intensity are considered as variables. The results show that the optimal process conditions for the selective recovery of Si from the solar cells are as follows: the concentration of acid solution = 3 M HCl, reaction temperature = 60℃, reaction time = 120 min, and ultrasonic intensity = 150 W. Further, the Si purity and recovery rate are 99.85 and 99.24%, respectively.

  • Modern and contemporary cultural assets are defined as a collective term for tangible historical and cultural assets produced in the modern and contemporary period (around the opening of Joseon to the present) in Korea. Among them, rickshaws have been used as a major means of transportation for about 40 years since the opening of the ports in Joseon. The repair process for rickshaws divides the rickshaw into three parts, namely the body, the cover, and the wheels, applying a plaster treatment process by referring to the outcomes of the condition assessment and material analysis for the metal, wood, fiber, and paint used. Overall, the repair process is carried out through dry/wet cleaning, joining, stabilization, reinforcement of damaged parts, and other restoration treatments, which reveal metal decorations and patterns on the scaffolding (flowers, arabesque patterns, etc.) that were previously not observable with the naked eye, while also adding to the stability of the artifact. In addition, props were produced to ensure the artifact's safe exhibition.
