An Empirical Study on Factors Influencing the Learning Results of Information Technology Using Multimedia (멀티미디어를 이용한 정보기술 교육의 학습 효과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, the rapid development of information technology has brought enormous changes in education. Consolidation of communications and multimedia technologies are enabling the new educational paradigm such as distance learning and virtual education. Furthermore, many studies in the education engineering field report that teaching using multimedia technologies more enhances students' performance than the traditional instructor-teaching method. However, little research regarding the education using multimedia has been done in the MIS filed. None of multimedia-related studies could be found in the top-ranked MIS journals published in Korea for the last five years, and only a few studies were found even worldwide. In this regard, the purpose of this study is to investigate which features of multimedia software are most important to enhance the teaching results of students, From the previous research, we found out the specific features of the educational multimedia software which are considered to affect the students' performance, and defined the research variables related to those educational software features, And, based on the constructivism and motivation theory of the education engineering field, a theoretical research model and research hypotheses were developed. Perceived usefulness of the class and a student's perceived interests in the class were used as surrogate variables to measure teaching performance. Total 277 students participated separately in one of the two multimedia classes which have continued for three weeks. One was C programming language class and the other was multimedia CD-title development class. Each student listened for the multimedia session of the class using multimedia software and, at the end of the multimedia session, answered the survey questionnaire, The results of the study show that motivation to the class and the contents of education were statistically significant to the students' performance in the class. That implies, not only in the traditional instructor-teaching method but also in the multimedia class, that the contents of education itself and student's motivation to the class are most important to raise instructional results.

  • The 3 year graduate school course of the dental technician, which has been enforced since 1994 till the present date, differs from the currently existing 2 year graduate course because of an 8 weeks clinical field training course being newly executed and an imposed curriculum about manufacturing specialized prosthetics like all-ceramic, double prosthetic technology, attachment, and implant. Even though nearly 10 years have passed, the education program of the 18 colleges have still not been standardized and the subjects differing a little, while some are still not following the 3 years graduate course. The goal of this research is to emphasize the qualities of the 3 years graduate program and enable the dental technician to handle clinical models in the dental technical clinic right after graduation by adding clinical field training in the dental technician education program of the 18 colleges. Also in accordance to a national and international increase in esthetical prosthetics, credits, weekly study hours, education practice time of specialized prosthetic dental technology can be analyzed as follows. 1. In the year 2003, currently colleges start clinical practice education starting from the 1st semester of the 2nd year junior year, to the 2nd semester of 3rd year the varying in time with adequate class time, and credits. The average credit is 9.56, and weekly average class time is 18.00 hours. later clinical trainee education will be adjusted to the 3 year graduate school course to 10 credits and 20 hours and the adequate education period should be the 2nd semester of 3rd grade when most basic clinical education has been covered. 2. Currently in the year 2003, all-ceramic education has an average credit of 8.01 in 17 colleges with an exception of Ma-san college. The weekly average theoretical education is 4.94 hours, weekly clinical education of 7.88 hours and currently in 14 colleges porcelain technical class usually starts in the 1st semester of the 2nd year. All-ceramic education is thought to have adequate credits, timing, and weekly study hours. 3. Currently in 2003 implant education is enforced in 11 colleges including Bu-san Catholic university and the education period is usually in the 3rd year. Out of the 11 colleges, only Bu-san Catholic univ., Ma-san and Shinheung college have practice training classes. We knew that Shingu, Dongu, Mokpo science colleges have practice training as a curriculum, namely specific prosthetics laboratory. Out of the 9 colleges enforcing implant education the average credits taken are 2.56, and the average hours of weekly theory education is 2.14, but with the exception of Shinheung college which has an implant practice training course theory and practice classes are not divided. Therefore implant education is thought to start in the 3rd year as a 3 credit course with 3 hours of theory and practice each. 4. Currently in 2003, theoretical attachment education is given in 15 colleges and including practical training it is given in 10 colleges. The education starts 1st semester of the 2nd year till the 2nd semester of the 3rd year. The average credit of attachment theory education in the 15 colleges was 3.64, the average weekly theoretical education was 2.64, and the average weekly practice training out of the schools teaching it was 3.20. Later attachment education is thought to start the 1st semester of the 3rd year as a 3 credit course with 2 hours of theory class and 3 hours of practice training. 5. Double prosthetic technology is currently carried out in Dae-jon Health Science college(2nd year 2nd semester, 2 credits, theory 2hours), Gimcheon college (1 credit, 2 hours of practical training), Bu-san Catholic university (4th year 2nd semester, 4 hours of theory. practice). When the 3 year course is enforced, education will start 1st semester of the 3rd year with 2hours of theory and practice each. 6. The newly installed programs of the 3 year education is clinical field training, and specialized prosthetic manufacturing practice like all-ceramic, double prosthetic technology, attachment, and implant. If such education is to be effectively managed, a primary precursor as systemic basic clinical education is thought to be important. 7. Nationally in the 18 colleges of dental technology the currently executed curriculum course had varying subjects, class time according to the subject, and credits by each college. The curriculum difference between the colleges must be settled.

Comparative Analysis of Domestic University's Curriculum in the Field of Clothing Construction for Activating Fashion Business (의복구성분야 교육과정 비교분석을 통한 패션산업 활성화 방안 -4년제 국내 대학을 중심으로-)

  • This study analyzes the current educational curricula in the field of clothing construction to provide some fundamental information for developing more appropriate educational courses and to activate the fashion business. A total of 82 different departments related to fashion and apparel were selected from four-year domestic universities and the curricula recently posted on their internet websites were analyzed by descriptive statistics. More than half (53.7%) of the 82 departments were offering classes in the clothing construction field for 3 credits and 4 class hours. College affiliation of the departments that offered curricula in the clothing construction field was classified into 5 categories: the arts (34), human ecology (22), natural sciences (14), humanities/culture (9), and others (3). Human ecology category showed the highest results in the average class hours (3.9), the number of classes in the clothing construction field (7.6), and the percentage of the classes in the clothing construction field out of all major classes offered by the clothing department (19.9%). All 82 departments were classified into 3 categories of: fashion design (32), clothing (28), and fashion business (22). The clothing category showed the highest results in the average credits (2.8), class hours (3.8), the number of classes offered by the clothing construction field (7.6), and the percentage of the classes that offer clothing construction education out of all major classes offered by the clothing department (19.9%). The educational contents of clothing construction area were classified into 8 different categories of: basic theory and sewing, clothing construction, flat pattern, draping, tailoring and advanced clothing construction, pattern CAD, sewing science and apparel manufacturing process, and clothing construction for special needs. Among these categories, the draping category constituted 21.7% as the largest part. In addition, the distribution of classes offered by 4 academic years were analyzed into 8 different categories.

  • Lower dimensional cases of Einstein's connection were already investigated by many authors for n = 2,3,4,5,6,7. This paper is the first part of the following series of two papers, in which we obtain a surveyable tensorial representation of 8-dimensional Einstein's connection in terms of the unified field tensor, with main emphasis on the derivation of powerful and useful recurrence relations which hold in 8-dimensional Einstein's unified field theory(i.e., 8-g-UFT): I.   • We usually encounter Electro-magnetics phenomenons and only feel some part of that, but it is hard to feel it visually. Moreover understanding physically and quantitatively is not a easy work. These electrostatic field theory, magnetostatic field theory and interchange magnetic field theory combined with electromagnetic field are formulated experimentally and theoretically by James Clerk Maxwell in 1873. Electromagnetic field takes electro-magnetic phenomenons as a expansion of formula originated in Maxwell equations. Since this is based on expansion of formula, it is hard to understand for many students not only middle school and high school students learning it at the first time but also college students studying physics as a elementary class and even majors in electromagnetic field. The program is developed as a visual aid to cope with these problems, and even to deal with complex problem to estimate solution using numerical method.

Theory of Thin Sample z-scan of a New Class of Nonlinear Materials

  • We report the theory of thin-sample Z -scan for materials, viz. diffusion-dominated photorefractives, having a nonlinearly induced phase that may be proportional to the spatial derivative of the intensity profile. The on-axis far-field intensity is approximately an even function of the scan distance on different positive and negative values for phase shift $\Delta$$\Phi$$_{o}$. In case of positive phase shift, the Z -scan graph shows a minimum and two maxima, while for the negative value, only one minimum is observed. The fact is that far-field beam profiles display beam distortion and shift of the peak as compared with Kerr-type or photovoltaic nonlinearities.s.

  • Purpose - This study was to establish a unified tourism management class for university students based on Gangwon-do. Community based learning(CBL) was applied to provide a tangible and intangible resource of tourism resources the theoretical approaches and the actual experiences of the community. Design/methodology/approach - In order to design a unified tourism management module, this study applied qualitative research and quantitative research methods to collect information on the direction of the module. the study conducted in-depth interviews and then an online survey. Findings - According to the results of the study, the main parts should include necessity of unification, inter-Korean tourism, inter-Korean cooperation, inter-Korean economy, and international relations. Research implications or Originality - The overall composition of the unification tourism management class should be designed as the unification tourism management theory to acquire the subject knowledge, the field trip to the border area for experiential learning, and the assignment of the field study task to understand the community.

  • The purpose of this study is to find out the symbolic meaning of interior color a the chosun dynasty's upper class houses, and to review it from a point of view of the Western coloring harmony theory. from this study, the Oriental philosophy, the ideas of Confucianism, and the ethnic traits influenced the interior color of the Chosun Dynasty's upper class houses like an-bang or sarang-bang. The results indicated that main color, auxiliary color, accent color were harmonized with similar harmony by hue and with contrast harmony by value and chroma. Therefore, interior color image of Korean traditional houses should be applied to the various design field as well as modern interior desigv.

  • TCA(Total Cost Assessment) can be defined by a tool to evaluate actual profit about investment. Also, It can be used by method to make more reasonable decision-making in business. Enforcement of 'direct payment system' for environment friendship farmhouse of government is spreading recent times. But, it is true that it is no definite standard about appropriation of disbursement amount of money. TCA method can be utilized usefully for solution of these problem. Also, It will help to decide price grasping invisible cost and environment cost. Therefore, We tried that may can apply TCA theory in farmhouse class, and attempted economic performance estimation which use this. This study introduces TCA theory and developed applicable expense list in agriculture field. Also, We applied TCA theory to farmhouse. This theories referenced domestic and th6 foreign countries, connection literature. But, It handled part about invisible cost and social cost etc..

A Study on Prediction of Young's Modulus of Composite with Aspect Ratio Distribution of Short Fiber (장단비 분포를 갖는 단섬유 복합재의 영계수 예측에 대한 연구)

  • Young's modulus of composite has been predicted by Eshelby's equivalent inclusion method modified with Mori-Tanaka's mean field theory, where short fibers of aspect ratio distribution are assumed to be aligned. Young's modulus of the composite is predicted with the smallest class interval for simulating the actual distribution of fiber aspect ratio, which is compared with that computed using different class intervals. Young's modulus of the composite predicted with mean aspect ratio or the largest class interval is overestimated by the maximum 10%. As the class interval of short fibers for predicting Young's modulus decreases, the predicted results show good agreements with those obtained using the actual distribution of fiber aspect ratio. It can be finally concluded from the study that if and only if the class interval of short fiber normalized by the maximum aspect ratio is smaller than 0.1, the predicted results are consistent with those obtained using the actual distribution of aspect ratio.
