  • The flutter characteristics of long span bridges are discussed from the point of the unsteady pressure distribution on bridge deck surface during heaving/torsional vibration related to the aerodynamic derivatives. In particular, it is explained that the coupling terms, which consist of $A_1^*$ and $H_3^*$, play a substantial role on the coupled flutter, in comparison with the flutter characteristics of various structural sections. Also the effect of the torsional/heaving frequency ratio of bridge structures on the flutter instability is discussed from the point of the coupling effect between heaving and torsional vibrations.

  • The Test and Evaluation (T&E) process is an integral part of the Systems Engineering Process. The purpose of Test and Evaluation (T&E) in a system development is to identify the areas of risk to be reduced or eliminated. In this study, when develop aircraft of Civil Aviation with development experience of Military Aircraft, it is that establish Test and Evaluation process. Test and Evaluation for KC-100 small aircraft development can divide to certification test and development test. Certification test is proved compliance about Korea Airworthiness standard (KAS Part 23), through Development Test verify required performance of aircraft. These Test and Evaluation Process is more efficient and optimized.

  • The performance of bridges under strong wind and traffic is of great importance to set the traveling speed limit or to make operational decisions for severe weather, such as controlling traffic or even closing the bridge. Meanwhile, the vehicle's safety is highly concerned when it is running on bridges or highways under strong wind. During the past two decades, researchers have made significant contributions to the simulation of the wind-vehicle-bridge system and their interactive effects. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive review of the overall performance of the bridge and traffic system under strong wind, including bridge structures and vehicles, and the associated mitigation efforts.

  • Until now, sulfate attack is not completely understood. The purpose of this study is to provide a fundamental data to understand deterioration mechanism by sulfate attack. Chemical processes for products formed by sulfate attack were explained in this study. ASTM C1012 test and microstructural observations such as XRD and BSE analysis were carried out to manifest behavior and role of the products formed during sulfate attack. Regarding the dominant causes of sulfate attack, the main deterioration modes could be divided into 3 types; (1) expansive type, (2) onion-peeling type, and (3) acidic type.

  • After latter half of the 1990 it has come out urban decline in big and middle & small cities. The purpose of this study is to review the methods of resident participation for community revitalization in civil renaissance through literature study. This study is divided into fourth parts. In the first part, the history of civil renaissance in Japan, German and England for getting grip on the situation is studied. In the second part, concepts of resident participation and community is dealed with. And the tendency of resident participation for community revitalization in civil renaissance is investigated through preceding researches. The third part and the last one are methods and conclusons and suggestions of resident participation revitalization in civil renaissance.

  • In order to improve the constructability and meanwhile ensure excellent seismic behavior, several innovative composite connection details were conceived and studied by the authors. This paper reports experimental results and observations on seismic behavior of steel beam bolted to reinforced concrete column connections (bolted RCS or BRCS). The proposed composite connection details involve post tensioning the end plates of the steel beams to the reinforced concrete or precast concrete columns using high-strength steel rods. A rational design procedure was proposed to assure a ductile behavior of the composite structure. Strut-and-tie model analysis indicates that a bolted composite connection has a favorable stress transfer mechanism. The excellent capacity and behavior were then validated through five full-scale beam to column connection model tests.
