The aim of the study was to see if there is any differences in urinary 1-hydroxypyrene glucuronide (1-OHPG) levels in children (9-15 years old) living three cities in South Korea (Seoul, Incheon and Pohang) and three in China (Changchun, Datong and Kunming), where the levels of particulate air pollution varies.(omitted)

Recently, high story apartments are common to solve a housing problem especially in major cities. Apartments are considered as clean, sanitary and convenient to live. However, There are some problems because residents share walls, floors and ceilings with other people. Thus, the residents are often disturbed by neighbours since sound travels the building elements. Especially, impact noise through the floors causes the many complains. And so, it has been drawn attention to isolate by the impact sound. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of vibration response of 12-type void slabs in the improved void slab by impedance method, and is to find the best improveds void slab on the 12-type void slabs.

The environmental pollution by noise is recognized by the pollution source made it not only to carry out harm of the Quality of a life of people seriously in most countries, but was generated for most actual problems. The measure to such environmental noise must conduct first investigation which noise generating currently regarded as questionable says in what grade has resulted and the suitable measure by that is studied. The concern of the residents who demand such a comfortable living environment is increasing rapidly. Therefore, the three areas of Jeollabuk-Do judged that noise is comparatively severe was selected. It is going to grasp delicately the noise actual condition of a residential, semi-residential, commercial, industrial area.

This paper examines the impact of reliability on consumers' demand for environmentally friendly agricultural products using ordered logit model. We survey 100 housewives living in the capital region and five metropolitian cities cross sectional data in 2007. This paper especially estimates the impact of instrumental factor, such as history tracking system, provision of information, safety assurance and labelling of brands on the consumers' demand. The main results show that provision of information and safety assurance affect consumers' demand more confident than others. In order to motivate consumers to buy more environmentally friendly agricultural products, the safety should be assured and more information on production and marketing channel should be labelled.

The following statistics are the results of a survey that analyzed the classification of livestock area and spatial mobility based upon the number of livestock and an area of 151 towns and cities from 1975 to 1995. 1. As a results of analysis about the degree of location concentration using C.V., Korean native cattles (HanWoo) and swines are becoming more centralized while dairies and chickens are becoming decentralized. 2. 49 regions, that is 32.5%, were classified as growing regions, 30 regions (19.9%) were stagnant regions and 72 regions (47.7%) were withering regions. The classification was based upon the calculation according to the numbers of converted grown animals and growth index. Kyonggi-do and Chungchongnam-do, specifically, took up 26.6% and 24.5% of the developing regions which shows that these two regions are the dominant regions for livestock. 3. Kyongsangbuk-do and Chungchongnam-do play significant roles for overall livestock, and Chollanam-do is considering a transition from swines to Korean native cattles and Kyongsangbuk-do is shifting from Korean native cattles to swines.

This paper is to analyze the effect of demographic factors on children' wear buying pattern, media and information utilization, and design preference. A total of 355 usable data was collected from house wives in three metropolitan cities(Seoul, Daejon, Bundang) in Korea. Correlation analysis showed that there were statistically significant correlation between demographic factors and clothing buying behavior, information utilization, and design preference. Also, Regression results showed that 8 Demographic Factors are significant predictors. The results with ANOVA showed that there were significant relationships between PURCHASE OCCASION and DISPLAY INFORMATION UTILIZATION, and showed that there were significant relationships (F=28.625, p=<.001) between PURCHASE MOTIVATION and SALES PERSON ADVICES UTILIZATION. Thus, both visuality and friendliness of service were affected by consumers. Considering the increasing importance of service quality in the retail VMD, sale promotion should be enhanced and sale person is needed to be trained to be friendly to all consumers regardless of product composition

One of the most serious national problems is the shortage of houses, especially in great cities. Housing shortage resulted from an overpopulated city brought the high-rise apartment buildings. While these buildings provide city-dwellers with much more houses, they have the basic fire safety problem in proportion to their heights. In these respect, this study aims to present the basic data for the fire safety design of high-rise apartment buildings. In this study, national fire damage statistics of past eleven years were investigated and the problem of the fire safety design of high-rise apartment buildings was studied through the methods of questions, observations and records on the representative six high-rise apartment buildings in seoul.

With the advent of the ubiquitous technology age, the progress of network technology has enabled a robust sensor communication, not just in cities, but also in poor surroundings such as deserts, polar regions, or underwater environments. In this paper, we propose a Multiple Acknowledgement (MA) technique to replace the conventional Automatic Repeat request (ARQ) technique. The MA mechanism is to send an Ack to many receivers simultaneously. The CH (master, coordinator) of the unit cluster broadcasts a Beacon frame where Ack information of the previously transmitted data is included. This technique can reduce the number of transmissions and overhead significantly. The proposed technique is a scheme improving the efficiency of an underwater sensor network where the uplink data transmission is the mainstream. The Performance of the ARQ, Block Ack, Pervasive Block Ack and the proposed method were compared with one another and analyzed. The proposed method showed significant performance improvement as compared with the ARQ, BA, and PBA in its channel efficiency.

The Bavarian town of Regensburg was a library travel destination during the European Enlightenment. With at least 26 collections, the number and variety of its private, governmental, school, and religious libraries rivaled that of much larger cities and figured in the bibliographic travel accounts of Johann Keyssler, Christoph Nicolai, Carl Oelrichs, Filippo Argellati, Georg Zapf, Friedrich Hirsching, Adalbert Blumenschein, and many others. The first-hand descriptions of these repositories are unique primary sources for the study of library history. Having been accessible to researchers largely in published forms, many were designed to serve as bibliographic aids for informing scholars about the locations of specialized subject collections and some individual works. The journals, letters, guidebooks, and texts also reflected the evolving scholarly and scientific nature of their cultural period. Overall, this case study of Regensburg’s libraries illustrates the particular value of contemporary travel literature.

This paper describes an implementation of adaptive stereo matching for DBM generation. The matching method of two stereo satellite images to find corresponding points used in this paper is area-based matching, which is usually used in the field of making DBM. Same window size and search area used as in the conventional matching methods and we propose adaptive stereo matching algorithm in this paper. We cluster three areas which are consist of mountainous areas, cultivated areas and cities, and rivers and lakes by using proposed linear feature extracting method. These classified areas are matched by adaptive window size and search area, but rivers and lakes is excluded in this experiment. The matching time is three times faster than conventional methods.
