  • Flux linkage of phase windings or phase inductance is an important parameter in determining the behavior of a switched reluctance motor (SRM) [1-8]. Therefore, the accurate prediction of inductance at aligned and unaligned rotor positions makes a significant contribution to the design of an SRM and its analytical approach is not straightforward due to nonlinear flux distribution. Although several different approaches using a finite element analysis (FEA) or curve-fitting tool have been employed to compute phase inductance [2-5], they are not suitable for a simple design procedure because the FEA necessitates a large amount of time in both modeling and solving with complexity for every motor design, and the curve-fitting requires the data of flux linkage from either an experimental test or an FEA simulation. In this paper, phase inductance at aligned and unaligned rotor positions is estimated by means of numerical method and magnetic equivalent circuit as well, and the proposed approach is analytically verified in terms of the accuracy of estimated inductance compared to inductance computed by an FEA simulation.

  • Magnetic Levitation System(MLS) levitates a steel ball to the desired position in the gravity field using electromagnetic force. MLS consists of light sensor to measure the position of steel ball and an electromagnet to control the position of the ball, that composes a feedback control system. This work does not use a steel ball with constant mass but variable mass steel balls as magnetic levitation targets. Differential equation of electric circuit for electromagnet and motion equation of the movement of steel ball are derived for modeling nonlinear system, that will be linearized at the nominal operating point. We propose a digital control that can levitate a steel ball of which weight is not known for ED-4810 system. Algorithm for estimating ball weight and feedback control are implemented in digital scheme under pentium PC equiped with A/D and D/A converter, ACL-8112, using C-language. Simulation and experimental results are given to show the usefulness of the proposed controller.

  • In this study, Transient Characteristics of the Punch-Through Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (PT-IGBT) has been studied. On the contraty to Non-Punch Through Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor(NPT-IGBT), PT-IGBT has buffer layer It has a simple drive circuit controlled by the gate voltage of the MOSFET and the low on-state resistance of the bipolar junction transistor. In this paper, the transient characteristics with temperature of the PT-IGBT has been analyzed analytically. PT-IGBT is made to reduce switching power loss. Excess Minority carrier distribution inactive base region and base charge, the rate of voltage with time is expressed analytically to include buffer layer.

  • In this paper, we describe a method of accurate modeling capacitor in Low Temperature Co-fired Ceramic(LTCC). We obtain building blocks that present characterization of test structure through partial element equivalent circuit (PEEC) method. The extracted model of building blocks can be used for predicting behaviors of capacitors with different geometries. This method can provide the good inspection of capacitor to device engineer.

  • 본 논문은 Hybrid Electric Vehicle용 리튬이온배터리의 ECM (Equivalent Circuit Model) 선정 방법을 제안한다. 전기 회로를 구성하는 성분들의 특징을 분석하고, 그 결과와 EIS (Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy) 장비의 측정 결과를 참고하여 배터리를 모델링한다. 다양한 종류의 배터리에 이 방법을 적용하여 각 배터리에 적합한 ECM을 선정하고, 그 임피던스를 EIS 측정 결과에 비교하여 타당성을 검증한다. 또한, 기존에 제시된 ECM과 비교하여 정확도 개선을 평가한다.

  • 본 논문은 리튬 이온 배터리의 실시간 등가회로 모델링의 정확도 개선을 위한 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 실시간 변수 추출 방법은 다수의 비선형 변수를 포함한 2차 RC ladder 모델을 기반의 변수 추출이 어렵다. 개선된 방법은 오프라인 변수 추출 결과를 기준값으로 저항성분을 실시간으로 추정하여 보정하는 방법을 사용한다. 각 실시간 모델링 방법별로 배터리 모델을 완성하고 단자 전압을 재현하여 정확도를 검증한다.

  • In building a shell-based FMS, which is known as one of the top-down approaches in the field of factory automation, we may take a hybrid simulation into consideration. The modeling of a hybrid simulation consists of real physical entities, virtual simulation, and central clock algorithm, etc. to carry out the whole system operation. In this paper, we sow a way to construct a hybrid simulation software system in manufacturing environments. We bring in the object-oriented methodology in system design and it can contribute in dealing with a wide variety of production types and configurations. Some classes such as project, product, process, order, schedule, stage are defined. These are used and tested by implementing a specific LSI circuit assembly line process.

레일건 가속특성 분석 (Analysis of Acceleration Characteristics of a Railgun)

  • To accelerate a launch mass with a low level of pressure as possible in a railgun, it is required to hold supplied current nearly constant during launch phase. We obtained the discharging conditions for required current shaping by modeling and analysis of circuit equations coupled to acceleration equation of the launch mass. The acceleration characteristics of the railgun in the conditions were analyzed by comparing experimental and theoretical results.

  • In this study, in conjunction with a SIMULINK program based on system modeling of a voice-coil-actuator (VCA)-driven balancing scale, a proportional-integral-derivative control algorithm is implemented, and weighing characteristics are investigated through experiments and simulations. The extent to which the back electromotive force induced in the VCA-driven circuit and the magnetic damping induced by the coil wound bobbin of VCA affect the weighing speed is also investigated.
