Current protection-coordination methods use the reverse time characteristics of the T-C curve, which is not effective for a LVDC distribution system because the protective operation time of converters and DC circuit breakers is much faster than AC protection devices. Therefore, an algorithm is proposed for fault-section isolation using the fault current slope to minimize the blackout region and coordinate between converters and protection devices in a rapid and accurate manner. The method deals with the slope characteristics of a fault current, which may depend on the fault location in an LVDC distribution system. Thus, an LVDC distribution system can be operated in a stable manner by isolating the fault section selectively before the shutdown of the main converter using slope characteristics, which change in proportion to the line impedance and fault location. A 1.5-kV LVDC distribution system was modeled to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm using PSCAD/EMTDC. The system is composed of a distribution substation, LVDC converter, and distribution lines. The simulation results confirm that the proposed algorithm is a useful tool for minimizing the fault section in an LVDC distribution system.

Naval battleships have systems to perform special purposes, such as the Command and Fire Control System (CFCS). Some of the this equipment should be equipped with an Uninterruptible Power System (UPS ) to ensure operational continuity and the backup of important data, even during unexpected power outages caused by problems with the ship's power generator. Heavy combat losses can occur if the equipment cannot satisfy the function. Therefore, it is important to design a stable UPS. The battery and Battery Management System (BMS) are two of the most important factors for designing a stable UPS. A power outage will be encountered if the battery and BMS are not stable. The customer will be exposed to abnormal situations, loss of important tactical data, and inability to operate some of the CFCS. As a result, an enhanced safety system should be designed. Thus, this study implemented and verified the improved system in terms of three methods, such as comparative analysis of the batteries, improvement about leakage current of the circuit, and tests of the aggressive environmental resistance to improve the UPS for CFCS.
It is very important to analyze the OCV change behavior during the open circuit potential holding (OCV holding) process, which accelerates the evaluation of the electrochemical durability of the PEMFC membrane. In this study, an empirical formula using the experimental data of three MEAs with different durability was created and compared. The durability evaluation time of the reinforced membrane MEA without radical scavenger inside the membrane was 383 h, and the durability evaluation time of the reinforced membrane MEA with radical scavenger inside the membrane was 1,000 and 1,650 h, respectively. The degradation of the membrane was divided into the reversible degradation that can be recovered by activation and the irreversible degradation that is not recovered. The irreversible degradation of the membrane was indicated by an increase in hydrogen permeability, and the change in hydrogen permeability was similar to the irreversible degradation constant c of all three MEAs. The initiation of irreversible deterioration without recovery is indicated by an increase in hydrogen permeability, and the OCV is not recovered due to an increase in hydrogen permeability, so the slope of the OCV recovery line (ORL) decreases, which can be confirmed by an increase in the constant c value of the empirical formula.

A submarine power cable is a transmission cable for carrying electric power below the surface of the water. Recently, submarine cables transfer power from offshore renewable energy schemes to shore, e.g. wind, wave and tidal systems, and these cables are either buried in the seabed or lie on the ocean floor, depending on their location. Since these power cables are used in the extreme environments, they are made to withstand in harsh conditions and temperatures, and strong currents. However, undersea conditions are severe enough to cause all sorts of damage to offshore cables, these conditions result in cable faults that disrupt power transmission. In this paper, we explore the design criteria for such cables and the procedures and challenges of installation, and cable transfer splicing system. The specification of submarine cable designed with 3 circuits of 154kV which is composed of the existing single circuit and new double circuits, and power capacity of 100MVA per cable line. The determination of new submarine cable burial depth and cable arrangement method with both existing and new cables are studied. We have calculated the permission values of cable power capacity for underground route, the values show the over 100MW per cable line.
Recently, all-solid-state batteries have attracted much attention to improve safety of rechargeable lithium batteries, but the solid-state batteries of conductive ceramics or solid polymer electrolytes show poor electrochemical properties because of several problems such as high interfacial resistance and undesired reactions. To solve the problems of the reported all-solid-state batteries, a hybrid solid electrolyte is suggested, in this study, NASICON-type nanoparticle Li1.5Al0.5Ti1.5P3O12 (LATP) conductive ceramic, PVdF-HFP, and a carbonate-based liquid electrolyte were composited to prepare a quasi-solid electrolyte. The hybrid solid electrolyte has a high voltage stability of 5.6 V and shows an suppress effect of lithium dendrite growth in the stripping-plating test. The LiNi0.83Co0.11Mn0.06O2 (NCM811)-based battery with the hybrid solid electrolyte exhibits a high discharge capacity of 241.5 mAh/g at a high charge-cut-off voltage of 4.8V and stable electrochemical reaction. The NCM811-based battery also shows 139.4 mAh/g discharge capacity without short circuit or explosion at 90℃. Therefore, the LATP-based hybrid solid electrolyte can be an effective solution to improve the safety and electrochemical properties of rechargeable lithium batteries.

Recently, the domestic demand for weapon systems based on aircraft platforms is gradually increasing. In particular, the demand for effective precision guided missile(PGM) which cruises for several hundred kilometers after launch to strike the ground target is rising drastically, but it is in the early stages of development, and research based on it are limited. This paper is a study on the power converter unit(PCU) within PGM which is mounted on an aircraft platform based on MIL-STD-1760, which is an interface between an aircraft and PGM. We investigated the electrical properties and structure of the umbilical connector, and the aircraft/store electrical interconnection system. Also, the focus on the design specifications of the PCU that supplies power were described. This result 3 phase AC input, which is the state for the guided simulation power supply in the state of being mounted on an aircraft that rectification method with power factor correction(PFC) compared to bridge rectifier circuit. In the future, it may be used as a basis for power supply design on aircraft mounted weapon systems.
Objectives : The purpose of this study is to construct a model of the possible thermal runaway of electronic moxibustion and to implement an appropriate risk management method. Methods : To reproduce the system error situation of the electronic moxibustion circuit equipped with microcontroller unit, temperature sensor and heater, a code was set to disable the signal input to temperature sensor and maintain "high" heating signal to heater. The temperature change of electronic moxibustion was compared between 3 types of heater module; module 1 consisting of a combination of heater+0 ohm+0 ohm resistance, module 2 consisting of a combination of heater+Polymeric Positive Temperature Coefficient (PPTC)+0 ohm resistance, and module 3 consisting of a combination of heater+PPTC+10 ohm resistance. The temperature change was measured using a polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) silicone phantom. After maintaining surface temperature of the phantom at 31~32℃ for 20 seconds, electronic moxibustion was applied. After operating electronic moxibustion, the temperature change was measured for 660 seconds on the surface and 900 seconds at 2 mm depth. Results : Regardless of the module type, the time-dependent change in temperature showed a rapid rise followed by a gentle curve, and a sharp drop in temperature after reaching the maximum temperature about 10 minutes after the switching the moxibustion on. Temperature measured at the depth of 2 mm below the surface increased slower and to a lesser extent. Module 1 reached highest peak temperature with largest change of temperature at both depths followed by module 2, and 3. Conclusions : Through the combination of PPTC+resistance with the heater of electronic moxibustion, it is possible to limit the rise in temperature even with the software error. Thus, this setting can be used as an independent safety measure for the electronic moxibustion control unit.
This study was designed to explore the ways to improve the organization and implementation of the curriculum for the small rural middle schools. In order to do this, the situations and demands in organizing and operating the curriculum were analyzed through interviews and classroom observations. Having separated the country into 5 distinct regions and the cases of 10 small rural middle schools across these regions of the country were directly observed and analyzed. As a result of the study, it was necessary to prepare a fundamental solution to the following problems: 1) insufficient linkage between school levels of integrated operating schools in terms of curriculum, 2) lack of educational facilities and cultural space in rural areas in terms of local communities, and 3) supply and demand of teachers in small-scale middle schools in rural areas in terms of supply and demand of teachers. Based on the discussed issues, the following implications could be drawn for the improvement and support of school curriculum organization and implementation. Firstly, the autonomy in organizing and operating curriculums for small rural middle schools should be greatly expanded so that integrated schools or joint curriculums between schools can be operated in a robust manner. Secondly, it needs to strengthen the out-of-school support for small rural middle schools alongside local governments and local communities, including the operation of Edu buses and the construction of multipurpose educational and cultural centers. Finally, it is necessary to address the difficulties of operating circuit teachers by systematically expanding the pool of teachers and instructors, and managing teachers and instructors at the level of the local education office.

In recent, sensors embedded in robots, equipment, and circuits have become common, and research for diagnosing device failures by learning measured sensor data is being actively conducted. This failure diagnosis study is divided into a classification model for predicting failure situations or types and a regression model for numerically predicting failure conditions. In the case of a classification model, it simply checks the presence or absence of a failure or defect (Class), whereas a regression model has a higher learning difficulty because it has to predict one value among countless numbers. So, the reason that regression modeling is more difficult is that there are many irregular situations in which it is difficult to determine one output from a similar input when predicting by matching input and output. Therefore, in this paper, we focus on input and output data with periodicity, analyze the input/output relationship, and secure regularity between input and output data by performing sliding window-based input data patterning. In order to apply the proposed method, in this study, current and temperature data with periodicity were collected from MMC(Modular Multilevel Converter) circuit system and learning was carried out using ANN. As a result of the experiment, it was confirmed that when a window of 2% or more of one cycle was applied, performance of 97% or more of fit could be secured.
