  • Animal feed additives are used worldwide for many different reasons. Some help to cover the needs of essential nutrients and others to increase growth performance, feed intake and therefore optimize feed utilization. They can positively effect technological properties and product quality. The health status of animals with a high growth performance is a predominant argument in the choice of feed additives. In many countries the use of feed additives is more and more questioned by the consumers: substances such as antibiotics and $\beta$-agonists with expected high risks are banned in animal diets. Therefore, the feed industry is highly interested in valuable alternatives which could be accepted by the consumers. Probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes and highly available minerals as well as herbs can be seen as alternatives to metabolic modifiers and antibiotics.

  • In the past, bioinformatics was often regarded as a difficult and rather remote field, practiced only by computer scientists and not a practical tool available to biologists. However, the various on-going genome projects have had a serious impact on biological sciences in various ways and now there is little doubt that bioinformatics is an essential part of the research environment, with a wealth of biological information to analyze and predict. Fully sequenced genomes made us to have additional insights into the functional properties of the encoded proteins and made it possible to develop new tools and schemes for functional biology on a proteomic scale. Among those are the yeast two-hybrid system, mass spectrometry and microarray: the technology of choice to detect protein-protein interactions. These functional insights emerge as networks of interacting proteins, also known as "pathway informatics" or "interactomics". Without exception it is no longer possible to make advances in the signaling/regulatory pathway studies without integrating information technologies with experimental technologies. In this paper, we will introduce the databases of protein interaction worldwide and discuss several challenging issues regarding the actual implementation of databases.

  • This paper deal with the critical fluid velocity response of nanocomposite pipe conveying fluid based on numerical method. The pressure of fluid is obtained based on perturbation method. The motion equations are derived based on classical shell theory, energy method and Hamilton's principle. The shell is reinforced by nanoparticles and the distribution of them are functionally graded (FG). The mixture rule is applied for obtaining the equivalent material properties of the structure. Differential quadrature method (DQM) is utilized for solution of the motion equations in order to obtain the critical fluid velocity. The effects of different parameters such asCNT nanoparticles volume percent, boundary conditions, thickness to radius ratios, length to radius ratios and internal fluid are presented on the critical fluid velocity response structure. The results show that with increasing the CNT nanoparticles, the critical fluid velocity is increased. In addition, FGX distribution of nanoparticles is the best choice for reinforcement.

  • Alumina-glass composites which are considered as the material of the choice for all dental crown was prepared by aqeous-based tape casting and sintering for 2h at 1120$^{\circ}C$ followed by glass infiltration for 2h at 1100$^{\circ}C$ Biaxial strength and fracture toughness of the composites were evaluated to determine the optimum composition of the tape as a function of the amount of constituent such as alumina binder and plasticizer. The strength and the fracture toughness of the alumina tape increased with increasing the contents of alumina and binder. These observations are consistent with in fluence of the constituents on mean alumuna particle distance in tapes suggesting that high strength of the glass infiltrated alumina composites is related to toughening by crack bowing. The biaxial strength and the fracture toughness of the composite containing the optimum constituent composition were 523 MPa and 3.3 MPa$.$1/2 respectively.

  • Although indium (In) is not an abundant element, the use of indium is expected to grow, especially as applied to copper-indium-(gallium)-selenide (CI(G)S) solar cells. In future when CIGS solar cells will be used extensively, the available amount of indium could be a limiting factor, unless a synthetic technique of efficiently utilizing the element is developed. Current vacuum techniques inherently produce a significant loss of In during the synthetic process, while electrodeposition exploits nearly 100% of the In, with little loss of the material. Thus, an electrochemical process will be the method of choice to produce alloys of In once the proper conditions are designed. In this review, we examine the electrochemical processes of electrodeposition in the synthesis of indium alloys. We focus on the conditions under which alloys are electrodeposited and on the factors that can affect the composition or properties of alloys. The knowledge is to facilitate the development of electrochemical means of efficiently using this relatively rare element to synthesize valuable materials, for applications such as solar cells and light-emitting devices.

  • Several different classes of antidepressants(ADs) with newer drugs becoming available have been used for the phamacological management of a broad spectrum of mental disorders, among which depressive disorder is most commonly indicated. Successful clinical use of ADs requires a complete understanding of the psychopharmacological properties of ADs and on accurate knowledge of patients, characteristics based on clinical experience and theoretical framework. This paper aims at providing some practical information on the clinical use of ADs to assist clinicians in treating patients with major depression. The author describes (1) different classes of ADs and their presumed mechanisms of action, (2) clinical characteristics of ADs focusing on side-effect profiles, (3) some issues arising during the treatment course such as : a) pretreatment tasks, b) choice of ADs, c) therapeutic drug dose and monitoring of drug concentration, d) three stages of treatment and e) strategies in refractory depression and (4) ADs in special patient groups.

  • It is commonly believed that high permittivity materials will be necessary for future high density Gbit DRAMs. In a first part, we explain the choice of SrTiO3 by ECR MOCVD for Gbit-scale DRAMs. In a second part, after describing the ECR MOCVD system and presenting the requirements SrTiO3 thin films should meet for use in Gbit-scale DRAMs, the physical and electrical properties of srTiO3 thi film prepared by ECR MOCVD are then studied. A stacked capacitor technology, suitable for use in 1 Gbit DRAM, and comprising high permittivity SrTiO3 thin films prepared by ECR MOCVD at $450^{\circ}C$ on electron beam and RIE patterned RuO2/TiN storage nodes is finally described.

  • In the present work, the effect of PDF selection and intermittency on the result of the numerical simulation are examined by the simulation of a turbulent methane-air jet diffusion flame. As to the PDFs, beta-function and clipped Gaussian are considered. Results for the pure mixing jet are compared with experimental results. Then, the turbulent flame is calculated for the same conditions and the results obtained for the several models are compared. It is found that the clipped Gaussian distribution coupled with consideration of intermittency recovers the experimental data very well. As to the reacting flow results, the main overall properties of the turbulent jet diffusion flame such as maximum flame temperature are less affected by the choice of the PDF. Flame height and NO emissions, on the contrary, appear to be significantly influenced.

  • In this work, we have investigated the printability such as print through and str-off of domestic newspapers. Nine kinds of domestic newspapers Hansol, Deahan, Sinho, Hanla and Sepung, were tested by IGT printability tester, and studied using maximum ink requirement method. We obtained the datum of printability parameters such as maximum ink requirment of paper Ymax, printing density D, print through, set-off and gloss. The results of this test showed that a choice of the fillers on the newspaper had an effect on print through, set-off and density of newspapers in the maximum ink transfer point.

  • A risk assessment framework for evaluating building structures is implemented in this study. This framework allows considering sources of uncertainty both on structural capacity and seismic demand. In particular randomness on seismic load, incident angle, material properties, floor mass and structural damping are considered; in addition the choice of fibre modelling versus plastic hinge model is also considered as a source of uncertainty. The main objective of this work is to study the contribution of these sources of uncertainty on the fragilities of steel and steel-reinforced concrete composite 3D building structures. The fragility curves are expressed in the form of a two-parameter lognormal distribution where vertical statistics in conjunction with metaheuristic optimization are implemented for calculating the two parameters.
