Music plays significant roles in the process of human development. The requirement in each process of development can be encouraged by children's participating in various musical activity and so the musical circumstance can make an important factor. Acknowledging that, there were some attempts to use music as a means of treatment or education for children. The subjects of clinic studies in music therapy, especially in Korea, have mainly been children with delay or disability in development. The purpose of this article is focused on collecting and analyzing articles which are written about children who are the main subjects of clinic studies. By collecting and analyzing those articles, the tendency of domestic studies about music therapy concerned with children can be widely examined. Ninety thesis about music therapy related with normal and disabled children have been collected and analyzed considering the subjects, methods, fields of the studies and musical intervention. The conclusions are the same with followings. First, considering the subjects, the studies on children with disabilities are more than normal children and the studies on autistic children occupy the largest portion of them Recently the studies on normal children have been increased as well as the studies on children with disability. Second, for the methods1 experimental studies have been performed more widely than descriptive studies. Third, considering the fields of development, the studies on the social field occupies the largest part of all and they are followed by emotion, language and communication, cognition in turn. Last, in case of musical intervention, it is clear that musical intervention is more used as forms of singing songs and playing instruments than special skills of music. Through this article, the achievements and shortcomings in this territory could be possibly shown at the same time. Moreover, the direction which it has to move toward could be shown.
The purpose of this study was to analyze coping behavior types of mothers of autistic children. Through the use of Q methodology using a sample of 23 pairs of mothers and therapists, four factors were derived that account for the coping strategies of mothers of children with autism. The mothers of the first type have either accepted their child's disability and their own situation. For the second type, the mothers engaged in therapeutic work for their child with a positive attitude. These mothers accepted their child as a family member. The third type shared ambivalent feelings and responses regarding their child's disability. And the last type expressed concerns and difficulties related to the situation. They tried to get social support to deal with the stressful situation. The agreement of mothers'psychological adjustment from the exports'and mothers'perceptive was found to be 52%.

According to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the portion of physical disability was 51.4% which was the highest among the registered disabled in December 2015, followed by visual disability(10.1%), disability of the brain lesions(10.0%), hearing disability(10.0%). The aim of this study is to investigate the types of disability in patients with disabilities visiting the Pediatric Dentistry, Chonbuk National University Dental Hospital in 2016. Of the patients who visited the pediatric dentistry, 196 patients (7.5%) had disabilities, and 19 patients had two or more disabilities. Twelve patients (6.1%) had both disabilities of brain lesion and intellectual disorder. Of the 177 patients with only one disability, 54 patients (30.5%) had physical disorders and 123 patients (69.4%) had psychiatric disorders. In psychiatric disorders, intellectual disorder was the most with 98 patients (55.3%), followed by autistic disorder with 23 patients (12.9%). In physical disorders, disability of brain lesion was the most with 37 patients (20.9%), followed by speech disability with 8 patients (4.5%). In this study, as a result of analyzing the types of disability with the patients who visited the Pediatric Dentistry of Chonbuk National University Dental Hospital, most of them had either intellectual disorder, disability of brain lesion, or autistic disorder. Dentists need to understand their general and dental characteristics to treat children and adolescents with disabilities. Since the most chief complaint of the patients was dental caries, early interventions should be made by dentist to reduce the incidence of the disease.
This study is approached the early intervention of children with disability in the aspect of family. The family of didabled children are identified as special individual with responsibilities and roles beyond those of other family. Physical Therapy need of the disabled child should be sought in the context of the family and socio-cultural environment. The process of early developmental facilitation is defined as a approach of the family. As family is the most influential factor in the child developmental facilitation, treatment and education. The family tend to seek complete information about disabilities, desire accurate, straight foreward about their child.
Developments in next-generation sequencing (NGS) techogies have assisted in clarifying the diagnosis and treatment of developmental delay/intellectual disability (DD/ID) via molecular genetic testing. Advances in DNA sequencing technology have not only allowed the evolution of targeted panels but also, and more currently enabled genome-wide analyses to progress from research era to clinical practice. Broad acceptance of accuracy-guided targeted gene panel, whole-exome sequencing (WES), and whole-genome sequencing (WGS) for DD/ID need prospective analyses of the increasing cost-effectiveness versus conventional genetic testing. Choosing the appropriate sequencing method requires individual planning. Data are required to guide best-practice recommendations for genomic testing, regarding various clinical phenotypes in an etiologic approach. Targeted panel testing may be recommended as a firsttier testing approach for children with DD/ID. Family-based trio testing by WES/WGS can be used as a second test for DD/ID in undiagnosed children who previously tested negative on a targeted panel. The role of NGS in molecular diagnostics, treatment, prediction of prognosis will continue to increase further in the coming years. Given the rapid pace of changes in the past 10 years, all medical providers should be aware of the changes in the transformative genetics field.
This study has been performed to review pre-school children's needs for privacy within normal residential space. In this study, there were three circumstances in which children need to stay alone without being interrupted by their parents; First, they strongly want to be stay quiet until relieving their anger or fear, shortly after disciplined and impugned by their parents. Second, infant children need to obtain their own territory in order to demonstrate ownership and dignity in their sley space. Third, there are also special circumstances of privacy needs among families with intrusive parents such as alcoholics and heavy smokers, or for the children of disability. In Korea, it is presumed that more than 60 percent the pre-school children aging three to six are in deficit of privacy for relieving their emotional disturbance, but no research has been documented for the case of disabled or interrupted children. Therefore in this study, it was primarily proposed that empirical studies need to be peformed among Korean preschoolers, in order to evaluate privacy needs in the perspectives of ordinary family lives, individual household behaviors, and special conditions of disability or offensive family members.
This study was conducted to identify the factors that influence students' disability acceptance attitudes in elementary schools in face of integrated education becoming common. For this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted on 472 students, from fourth to sixth grade, in three elementary schools in Jeollanam-do; furthermore a regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 23.0. The survey demonstrated that gender and grade did not have a significant effect on disability acceptance attitudes. Whereas empathy abilities, contact and knowledge of children with disabilities, respectively, influenced disability acceptance attitudes. Consequently, improving students' ability to empathize with others is more important than simply providing knowledge in itself. Thus, there is a need for the implementation of programs and education geared toward promoting empathy. Moreover, contact was found to have a negative impact on disability acceptance attitudes, suggesting the need to promote more positive disability-related experiences to elementary school students.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of the application of hand washing education program for the children with intellectual disability on hand washing frequency and methods during COVID-19 Pandemic. Subjects were 14 children with intellectual disability and they participated in the program using visual video materials. Hand washing education program was consisted of introduction, theory education, and practice and it performed 2 times a week, total 16 sessions during 8 weeks. Hand washing theory education was consisted about the importance and application of hand washing, proper hand washing steps and methods, use of hand washing tools, use of hand sanitizers including characteristics, and prevention of skin damage from hand washing. Hand washing assessment was used by hand washing frequence and methods observation report. Hand washing frequency was measured by the hand washing frequency during the daily routine and it was analyzed by the items divided into day and month units. Hand washing methods was measured by the items divided into use of hand washing tools, time, areas, drying methods after hand washing. As the results, after hand washing education program, the hand washing frequence was increased and hand washing methods were improved. Hand washing is much important as a active method to prevent the infection during the COVID-19 Pandemic. Thus, based on this findings, the application of hand washing education program should be considered to increase the hand washing frequency and improve the hand washing methods of the children with intellectual disability.

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of social support on the relationship between parenting stress and depression among parents of children with a disability. One hundred and fifty parents of children with a disability from Gwangju area were asked to complete a survey including The Parental Stress Scale, The Social Support Scale, and The Depression Scale. The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, pearson correlation, and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 24.0. The results of the study are as follows: First, the correlation analysis showed statistically significant correlations among parental stress, social support and depression. Second, the simple regression analysis showed the direct effect of parental stress on depression. Third, the multiple regression analysis showed the mediating effect of social support on the relationship between parental stress and depression. This suggests the social support may reduce the negative effect of the parental stress on the depression. Implications, limitations, and suggestions for future study are discussed.
Purpose: Malnutrition in children with cerebral palsy (CP) is a significant factor affecting their adequate growth and development. This study aimed at conducting surveys and evaluating the dietary intake of children with CP according to their BMI classification and to thereby highlight the dietary factors affecting the nutritional status of these children. Methods: A total of 16 children were enrolled between the age of four and twelve. These subjects were further classified into three groups, namely underweight, normal and obese, with 6, 8, and 2 children in each group, respectively. The general characteristics, motor disturbances, body composition, feeding problems, eating habits, nutritional intake, dietary variety, and food frequency for children with CP were evaluated. Results: It was observed that motor disturbances tended to increase in underweight children with CP. A significant decrease (p < 0.05) in disturbances related to oral feeding was observed with an increase in obesity. The pattern of eating habits revealed that subjects in the underweight group consumed unbalanced meals, while those in the obese group tended to consume larger meals at a faster pace. The feeding disturbance data revealed that those in the underweight group could not prepare their meals while the obese group had the problem of overeating and consuming an unbalanced diet (p < 0.05). Conclusion: It is necessary for both children with CP, who have a high degree of disability, and their caregivers to take lessons on adequate nutrient intake to prevent malnutrition. Moreover, it is necessary for the caregivers and children with CP having a low degree of disability to take lessons on providing and consuming a balanced diet and to focus on the intake of sufficient calcium in order to prevent obesity.
