  • Activation parameters of the exchange between two types of glycinate groups in (nitrilotriacetato)dioxovanadate(V) ion, $[VO_2(NTA)]^{2-}$, have been determined as the results of $^{13}C$ NMR measurements over a range of temperatures between 277 and 306$^{\circ}K$. The exchange mechanism is proposed on the basis of the chelate ring opening-closing process, assuming rupture of the metal-oxygen (glycinate) bond trans to V = O bond to give a five-coordinated intermediate.

  • The Mo(V) $di-{\mu}-oxo$ type [$Mo_{2}O_{4}(H_{2}O)_{2}L_{2}$] $SO_{4}$ complexes(L: 2,2'-dipyridyl,4,4'-ethylenedianlline) have been prepared by the reaction of $[Mo_{2}O_{4}(H_{2}O)_{6}]SO_{4}$ with a series of chelate ligands. These complexes are completed by two terminal oxygens arranged trans to one another and each ligand forms a chelate types. In $Mo_{2}O_{4}(H_{2}O)_{2}L_{2}$, two $H_{2}O$ coordinated at trans site of terminal oxygens. The prepared complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, $^{1}H$ nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, and thermal analysis(TG-DTA). In the potential range -0.00V to -1.00V at a scan rate of $50mVs^{-1}$, a cathodic peak at -0.81V ${\sim}$ -0.87V (vs SCE) and an anodic peak at -0.61V ${\sim}$ -0.63V (vs SCE) have been observed in aquous solution. We infer these redox are irreversible reaction.

  • Fe-EDTA complex, which is easily formed when Fe salt and EDTA.2Na are mixed in the aqueous medium, is found to be a very effective catalyst in the dehydropolycondensation of aminophenols. In the dehydropolycondensation of aminophenols, the catalyst, Fe(Ⅲ)-EDTA complex (higher oxidation state) is reduced to less stable Fe(Ⅱ)-EDTA complex (lower oxidation state), and the latter is easily oxidized by air to the original higher oxidation state complex, therefore the catalytic action of Fe-EDTA complex is found to be recycled effectively. Under the catalytic action of the above mentioned complex, p-aminophenol is polymerized in the aqueous medium to form the oligomers of p-aminophenol, which the degree of polymerization to be 5 or more. The oligomers formed contain partly quinone nucleus as well as amino and hydroxyl groups. In this study, the effects of the solvents and characteristics of the oligomers are discussed. These types of polymerizations catalyzed by the metallic chelate compounds are considered to be very closely related to the reactions in the living matters.

  • The Mo(V) $di-{\mu}-oxo$ type $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L]Cl_2$ complexes(L: 4,4'-Diphenyl-2,2'-dipyridyl, 4,4'-Dimethyl-2,2'-dipyridyl, 4,7-Diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline) have been prepared by the reaction of $[Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_6]^{2+}$ with a series of chelate ligands. These complexes are completed by two terminal oxygens arranged trans to one another and each ligand forms a chelate types. In $Mo_2O_4(H_2O)_2L$ two $H_2O$ coordinated at trans site of terminal oxgens. The prepared complexes have been characterized by elemental analysis, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, $^1H$ nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, and thermal analysis(TG-DTA). In the potential range -0.00V to -1.00V at scan rate of $50mVs^{-1}$, a cathodic peak at -0.83V ${\sim}$ -0.88V (vs SCE) and an anodic peak at -0.54V ${\sim}$ -0.88V (vs SCE) have been observed in aquous solution. The ratio of the cathodic to anodic current(Ipc/Ipa) is almost 2, we infer that redox is irreversible as dimer forms broken.

  • Fungi employ diverse mechanisms for iron uptake to ensure proliferation and survival in iron-limited environments. Siderophores are secondary metabolite small molecules with a high affinity specifically for ferric iron; these molecules play an essential role in iron acquisition in fungi and significantly influence fungal physiology and virulence. Fungal siderophores, which are primarily hydroxamate types, are synthesized via non-ribosomal peptide synthetases (NRPS) or NRPS-independent pathways. Following synthesis, siderophores are excreted, chelate iron, and are transported into the cell by specific cell membrane transporters. In several human pathogenic fungi, siderophores are pivotal for virulence, as inhibition of their synthesis or transport significantly reduces disease in murine models of infection. This review briefly highlights siderophore biosynthesis and transport mechanisms in fungal pathogens as well the model fungi Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Schizosaccharomyces pombe. Understanding siderophore biosynthesis and transport in pathogenic fungi provides valuable insights into fungal biology and illuminates potential therapeutic targets for combating fungal infections.

  • Immobilized metal ion affinity chromatography (IMAC) was used to separate various types of recombinant hirudins from the culture broth. The wild type hirudin exhibited a retention in Cu(II)-chelated affinity chromatgoraphy since it contained a single exposed histidine at position 51. To obtain a stronger retention on an IDA-Cu(II) column, the hirudin variants were genetically engineered to contain one or two histidine (s) more than the wild type. While the affinity of the variants for IDA-Cu(II) ligand increased in comparison to that of the wild type, the antithrombin activities reduced to a certain degree. Cu(II), Ni(II) and Zn(II) ions were applied separately to the metal chelate column to investigate ligand specificity with respect to protein retention. As a result, the Cu(II) chelated chromatography gave the best resolution for all the hirudins tested and appeared to be the only IMAC that could be used generally for the purification of hirudins with a decreasing pH gradient.

  • In Korean peninsula as well as in Western European Countries, we can find, reddish bands in sandy deposits of various origin. These bands (called "$B_t$ Band"), composed of fine material, are regularly intervalled and parallel to topography. This study is tring to elucidate their origin and associated milieux, with a group of methods and techniques (field survey, micromorphological analysis, granulometry, X-ray diffractometry of clay minerals...). $B_t$ Bands are not sedimentological origin. They were formed by superposition of two type accumulations in the sandy profile, triggered by different mechanisms: 1) accumulation in banded form, concerning silty heterometric material and micas, oweing to cryophoretic forces operating in course of deep freezing of sandy deposits: 2) illuviation of ferrugineous clays in the precedants bands, migrated in chelate state by soil water. The first processes are associated with very cold and humid climate in which freeze soil more than 3m in depth. The second, cold and humid climate in which podzolizattion is generalized. In case of South Korea and Western Europe, these two types of climates are not present circumstance, but Recent Quaternary (probably since the Wurm).the Wurm).
