The Cognitive Radio (CR) paradigm in tactical ad hoc networks is an important element of future military communications for network-centric warfare. This paper presents a novel Cognitive Link State Routing protocol for CR-based tactical ad hoc networks. The proposed scheme provides prompt and reliable routes for Primary User (PU) activity through procedures that incorporate two main functions: PU-aware power adaptation and channel switching. For the PU-aware power adaptation, closer multipoint relay nodes are selected to prevent network partition and ensure successful PU communication. The PU-aware channel switching is proactively conducted using control messages to switch to a new available channel based on a common channel list. Our simulation study based on the ns-3 simulator demonstrates that the proposed routing scheme delivers significantly improved performance in terms of average end-to-end delay, jitter, and packet delivery ratio.
This experimental study was carried out to investigate the characteristics of the in-cylinder eccentricity swirl flow generated by a 4 valve cylinder head with a tangential and a helical intake port. the measurements of the in-cylinder velocity field have been made by a two-channel LDA system. The mean flow coefficient(Cf(meam)), swirl ratio(Rs) and mass flowrate with valve eccentricity ratios and an intake port partition between the two intake ports were measured in the steady flow test fig using the ISM(impulse swirl meter). The experimental results indicated that the mass flowrate through the tangential intake port was 19% and 7.7% more than that of the helical intake port in case of with and without intake port partition respectively. There was a tendency to be a single rotation flow in swirl flow fields formed by a 4 valve cylinder head because of the interaction between the two intake ports. As the intake port partition was not set between flow coefficient(Cf(mean)) was 7.35%.

As the number of CPU/GPU cores and IPs in SOC increases and applications require explosive memory bandwidth, simultaneously achieving good throughput and fairness in the memory system among interfering applications is very challenging. Recent works proposed priority-based thread scheduling and channel partitioning to improve throughput and fairness. However, combining these different approaches leads to performance and fairness degradation. In this paper, we analyze the problems incurred when combining priority-based scheduling and channel partitioning and propose dynamic priority thread scheduling and adaptive channel partitioning method. In addition, we propose dynamic address mapping to further optimize the proposed scheme. Combining proposed methods could enhance weighted speedup and fairness for memory intensive applications by 4.2% and 10.2% over TCM or by 19.7% and 19.9% over FR-FCFS on average whereas the proposed scheme requires space less than TCM by 8%.

Due to insufficient available bandwidth resources and the continuously growing demand for cellular communication services, the channel assignment problem has become increasingly important. To trace the optimal assignment, several heuristic strategies have been proposed. So far, most of them focus on the small-scale systems containing no more than 25 cells and they use an anachronistic cost model, which does not satisfy the requirements ity. Solving the small-scale channel assignment problems could not be applied into existing large scale cellular networks' practice. This article proposes a decomposition approach to solve the fixed channel assignment problem (FCAP) for large-scale cellular networks through partitioning the whole cellular network into several smaller sub-networks and then designing a sequential branch-and-bound algorithm that is made to solve the FCAP for them sequentially. The key issue of partition is to minimize the dependences of the sub-networks so that the proposed heuristics for solving smaller problems will suffer fewer constraints in searching for better assignments. The proposed algorithms perform well based on experimental results and they were applied to the Taiwan Cellular Cooperation (TCC) in ChungLi city to find better assignments for its network.
We present an intelligent optical switching structure based on our lambda-group model along with a working scheme that can provide a distinctive approach for dividing complicated traffic into specific tunnels for better optical performance and grooming efficiency. Both the results and figures from our experiments show that the particular channel partition not only helps in reducing ports significantly, but also improves the average signal-to-noise ratio of the wavelength channel and the blocking performance for dynamic connection requests.
Twenty eight non-lactating and non-pregnant adult Serra da Estrela ewes, ranging in body condition score (BCS) from 1 to 4 were used to study the relationships between BCS, live weight (LW), body composition and fat partition. Ewes were slaughtered and their kidney knob and channel fat (KKCF), sternal fat (STF) and omental plus mesenteric fat (OMF) were separated and weighed. Left sides of carcasses as well as the respective lumbar joints were then dissected into muscle, bone and subcutaneous (SCF) and intermuscular fat (IMF). The relationship between LW and BCS was studied using data from 1,396 observations on 63 ewes from the same flock and it was found to be linear. Regression analysis was also used to describe the relationships among BCS and/or LW and weights (kg) and percentages in empty body weight (EBW) of dissected tissues. The prediction of weights and percentages in EBW of total fat (TF) and of all fat depots afforded by BCS was better than that provided by LW. Only the weight of muscle and the percentage of bone in the EBW were more efficiently predicted by LW than by BCS. IMF represented the largest fat depot with a BCS of 1 and 2, whereas SCF was the most important site of fat deposition with a BCS of 3 and 4. Allometric coefficients for each fat depot in TF suggest that the fat deposition order in ewes from this breed is: IMF, OMF, SCF and KKCF. Results demonstrate that BCS is a better predictor than LW of body reserves in this breed and that LJ is a suitable anatomical region to evaluate BCS.
The influence of age on the relative growth patterns of subcutaneous, intermuscular, intramuscular, perirenal, channel and hump fat in relation to the total fat weight in carcass sides of 18 Najdi male camels averaging 8, 16 and 26 months of age has been investigated. The total fat weight in a carcass side increased (p<.01) from 17.3% to 27.1% as the camel age increased from 8 to 26 months. However, at all ages studied, intermuscular fat weight was the largest fat depot, followed, in order, by subcutaneous and intramuscular fat. The change in weight of the intramuscular, intermuscular and subcutaneous fat between 8 and 26 months of age was greater, reaching 6.7, 4.3 and 4 times respectively, than the hump, channel and perirenal fat weight which increased by 3.6, 2.5 and 2.3 times, respectively. The allometric growth coefficient (${\beta}$) for intramuscular fat in relation to the total carcass fat weight was the highest, followed, in order, by intermuscular, subcutaneous, hump, channel and perirenal fat.
본 논문에서는 무선 채널 상에서 연속적인 스트리밍 QoS 보장을 위한 새로운 이득 중요도 기반의 세그먼트 캐싱 제어 메커니즘을 제안한다. 제안된 기법은 QoS (Quality of Service)보장을 위해 SSCP (Single Segment Caching Profit)와 MSCP (Multiple Segment Caching Profit)에 의해 캐싱 제어를 수행한다.
