  • In this paper, uncertain parameters of the heat transfer model of a Dynamically Tuned Gyroscope (DTG) are estimated by the Recursive Least Squares (RLS) method. Also, using this model, a temperature controller for a DTG is designed. As the temperature controller, a PI controller is used. It is presented that a controller can be easily designed when the heat transfer model of a DTG is used. By simulations and experiments, it is shown that the estimated heat transfer model is appropriate and the desired performance of the temperature controller is satisfied.

  • In this paper, we present a robust $H^{\infty}$ controller for a state delayed system with uncertainties. The unstructured and norm bounded uncertainties enter into both the state and the input matrix, where the matching condition of the uncertainties is not assumed. A robust stabilization condition and also a robust $H^{\infty}$ stabilization condition are suggested. The robust $H^{\infty}$ controller is obtained by solving a Riccati equation which is derived from the suggested robust $H^{\infty}$ stabilization condition.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the factors of the health promotion behavior of child care center teachers. Methods: This study conducted a survey of 200 child day care center teachers in Seoul from January to February, 2017. This study examined the actual condition of health promotion behavior, perceived health status and the determinants of health promotion behavior of child care center teachers. Results: The factors affecting the health promotion behaviors of the child care teachers were age, working time, perceived benefit, barrier, and social support. Conclusion: These findings suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply a health promotion program for child care teachers.

  • Federated Learning (FL) is a technique that excels in training a global model using numerous clients while only sharing the parameters of their local models, which were trained on their private training datasets. As a result, clients can obtain a high-performing deep learning (DL) model without having to disclose their private data. This setup is based on the understanding that all clients share the common goal of developing a global model with high accuracy. However, recent studies indicate that the security of gradient sharing may not be as reliable as previously thought. This paper introduces the latest research on various attacks that threaten the privacy of federated learning.

  • The Use-after-free (UAF) bug is a long-standing temporal memory safety issue. To prevent UAF attacks, two commonly used approaches are lock-and-key and pointer nullification. Recently, ARM architecture supports the Memory Tagging Extension (MTE) that implemented a lock-and-key mechanism using a 4-bit tag during memory access. Previous research proposed a virtual address tagging scheme utilizing MTE to prevent UAF attacks. In this paper, we aimed to measure a simplified version of the previously proposed virtual address tagging scheme on real machines supporting MTE by implementing a simple module and conducting experiments.

  • Holostephanus metorchis (Digenea: Cyathocotylidae) is a parasite of birds, transmitted by freshwater fishes. H. metorchis adults were recovered from chicks experimentally infected with metacercariae collected from freshwater fishes, Pseudorasbora parva. The metacercariae were oval, surrounded with thick fibrous capsules. In adult flukes, the holdfast organ occupied the ventral concavity, and the anterior testis did not reach the level of the ventral sucker. Based on these morphological characteristics, these flukes were identified as H. metorchis.

  • The ruddy turnstone, Arenaria interpres interpres, a migratory Korean bird, was proved to be a natural definitive host for Gynaecotyla squatarolae (Digenea: Microphallidae). The ruddy turnstone was found dead at the seashore of Okgu-eup, Gunsan-si, Jeollabuk-do. The intestinal tract was examined, and 98 unknown flukes were recovered. The worms were $600{\times}284{\mu}m$ in size, and had 2 ventral suckers. The seminal vesicle was large, the genital atrium was prominent, and the average egg size was $20{\times}12.5{\mu}m$. Based on these results, the worms were identified as G. squatarolae. This is the first report on the ruddy turnstone as a natural definitive host of G. squatarolae in the Republic of Korea.

  • In this paper, we developed a Receding Horizon Predictive Control for Stochastic state space models(RHPCS). RHPCS was designed to minimize a quadratic cost function. RHPCS consists of Receding Horizon Tracking Control(RHTC) and a state observer. It was shown that RHPCS is equivalent to Generalized Predictive Control(GPC) when the underlying state space model is equivalent to the I/O model used in the design of GPC. The equivalence between GPC and RHPCS was shown through. the comparison of the transfer functions of the two controllers. RHPCS provides a time-invarient optimal control law for systems for which GPC can not be used. The stability properties of RHPCS was derived. From the GPC's equivalence to RHPCS, the stability properties of GPC were shown to be the same as those for RHTC.

  • In this paper, a control law based on the receding horizon concept which robustly stabilizes time-varying discrete linear systems, is proposed. A dynamic game problem minimizing the worst case performance, is adopted as an optimization problem which should be resolved at every current time. The objective of the proposed control law is to guarantee the closed loop stability and the infinite horizon $H^{\infty}$ norm bound. It is shown that the objective can be achieved by selecting the proper terminal weighting matrices which satisfy the inequality conditions proposed in this paper. An example is included to illustrate the results..
