  • In this paper, the reverse link performance of an imperfect power controlled DS/CDMA cellular system that uses a base station array antenna which can effectively remove the multiple access interference is analyzed considering both beam forming algorithm and power control error in shadowing. The blocking probability of the DS/CDMA cellular system based on array parameters, Eb/No and statistics of interference is derived, and then the system capacity corresponding to a certain blocking probability is calculated. On the assumption that the blocking probability is set 1 %, the system capacity using MCGM algorithm with 12 antenna arrays is increased about 59 % than that using 8 antenna arrays when power control error is 2.5 ㏈.

탄소 빔 분할조사 시 Linear-Quadratic모델, Incomplete-Repair모델, Marchese 모델 결과 비교 (Comparison of Linear-Quadratic Model, Incomplete-Repair Model and Marchese Model in Fractionated Carbon Beam Irradiation)

  • 본 연구는 탄소 빔의 분할조사 후 세포생존율 (Surviving Fraction, SF) 값에 따른 Linear-Quadratic model, Incomplete Repair model, Marchese model의 결과값을 비교하기 위해 진행하였다. 탄소 빔을 4fraction까지 조사한 후 얻은 세포생존율 값을 바탕으로 mathematica 프로그램 (ver 9.0)을 이용하여 각각의 모델로 결과값을 얻어 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 즉시 NB1RGB를 시딩한 값은 repair가 감안되지 않은 LQ 모델이 적합하였지만 fraction 시행한 후의 결과값은 오차를 보였다. 따라서 Potentially Lethal Damage Repair (PLDR)과 Sublethal Damage Repair (SLDR)의 발생을 각각 감안한 repair 모델을 이용하여 적합한지 판단하였다. 이를 바탕으로 탄소 빔의 분할 조사 시 LQ 모델에 각각의 repair의 양을 감안한 새로운 회복 관련 모델의 적용 가능성을 보고자 하였다.

  • $CO_2$ laser beam을 이용하여 예민화 Alloy 600 재료의 표면을 용융하여 상온의 $Na_2$S$_4$O$_{6}$ 용액에서 일정변형률 시험을 하였으며, TEM으로 용융된 부위의 미세조직을 관찰하였다. Laser beam으로 표면용융시킨 예민화 Alloy 600에서는 표면용융하지 않은 시편의 IGSCC 파괴와는 달리 연성파괴가 일어났으며, 이 시편의 파단면은 as-received 시편의 연상파괴에 의한 파단면과 유사하게 dimple 형상을 보여주었다. 한편, laser로 표면용융된 부위의 응고조직은 cellular 조직을 나타내고 있었으며, cell boundary는 높은 밀도의 dislocation이 엉켜있었다. EDX로 cell과 cell 사이, 그리고 결정립과 결정립 사이의 경계를 가로질러 성분분석을 한 결과 두경계면에서 Cr이 matrix에서보다 높게 측정되었다. Laser로 표면용융한 예민화 Alloy 600에서의 IGSCC 저항성 증가는 이러한 경계면에서의 Cr 증가 때문인 것으로 유추된다.

Combined Opportunistic Beamforming Methodology

  • A combined opportunistic multiple beamforming method is presented that the first beam is designed with an aid of channel state information using uplink mid-amble and other beams are orthogonally generated to the first beam sequentially. The power allocation with SINR feedback increases overall throughput for the decentralized systems. The advantages of the proposed scheme is that the first beam is not interfered by other beams guaranteeing quality of service (QoS) and other orthogonal beams are operated opportunistically to obtain multi user diversity. The computer simulation demonstrates that the proposed scheme is effective at a small number of users, which is common in cellular systems, and outperforms conventional spatial division multiple access (SDMA) opportunistic beamforming methods.

  • 빔의 열적효과는 세포조직의 서로 다른 구성성분과 레이저 빔의 서로 다른 파장에서 다른결과를 나타내며 세포조직에서 온도증가는 먼저 응고가 이루어지고, 절단이나 탄화과정이 일어나며 $300^{\circ}$이상에서는 세포조직의 파괴에 의한 증발이 발생하게 된다. $CO_2$ 레이저는 최소한 조직손상으로 이러한 효과를 얻는데 최적이라고 보며 0.1mm의 최소한의 세포조직 깊이에서 일어나는 효과의 근본적인 장점은 생체조직이나 내장기관에 안정적이다. $CO_2$레이저사용에 있어서 단점은 무엇보다도 세포파괴에서 생성되는 입자들의 부품흡착 등으로 결과적으로 레이저의 출력감소가 일어나는데, 영 전압, 영 전류 스위칭 포워드 컨버터를 도입하여 기존의 하드 스위칭 포워드 컨버터에 있어서 Turn-off, on시 발생되는 스위칭 방식을, 적용함으로써 1차 측 스위칭 소자의 Turn-off, on시 영전압, 영전류 스위칭을 이루어 정밀도가 요구되는 산부인과용 $CO_2$ 연속 형 레이저의 고압출력 모듈에 따른 펄스 트랜스의 안정화에 필수적으로 기여하며, 레이저 출력과 안정화가 되도록 설계 및 제작한 결과, 기존제품보다 향상된 결과를 가져왔다. 추후 시스템적으로 보완을 하면 우수한 결과가 될 것으로 사려된다.

Radioprotective effects of delphinidin on normal human lung cells against proton beam exposure

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Exposure of the normal lung tissue around the cancerous tumor during radiotherapy causes serious side effects such as pneumonitis and pulmonary fibrosis. Radioprotectors used during cancer radiotherapy could protect the patient from side effects induced by radiation injury of the normal tissue. Delphinidin has strong antioxidant properties, and it works as the driving force of a radioprotective effect by scavenging radiation-induced reactive oxygen species (ROS). However, no studies have been conducted on the radioprotective effect of delphinidin against high linear energy transfer radiation. Therefore, this study was undertaken to evaluate the radioprotective effects of delphinidin on human lung cells against a proton beam. MATERIALS/METHODS: Normal human lung cells (HEL 299 cells) were used for in vitro experiments. The 3-[4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl]-2,5 diphenyl tetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay assessed the cytotoxicity of delphinidin and cell viability. The expression of radiation induced cellular ROS was measured by the 2'-7'-dicholordihydrofluorescein diacetate assay. Superoxide dismutase activity assay and catalase activity assay were used for evaluating the activity of corresponding enzymes. In addition, radioprotective effects on DNA damage-induced cellular apoptosis were evaluated by Western blot assay. RESULTS: Experimental analysis, including cell survival assay, MTT assay, and Western blot assay, revealed the radioprotective effects of delphinidin. These include restoring the activities of antioxidant enzymes of damaged cells, increase in the levels of pro-survival protein, and decrease of pro-apoptosis proteins. The results from different experiments were compatible with each to provide a substantial conclusion. CONCLUSION: Low concentration ($2.5{\mu}M/mL$) of delphinidin administration prior to radiation exposure was radioprotective against a low dose of proton beam exposure. Hence, delphinidin is a promising shielding agent against radiation, protecting the normal tissues around a cancerous tumor, which are unintentionally exposed to low doses of radiation during proton therapy.

TDD-OFDMA 기반의 차세대 셀룰라 시스템과 육상 고정 시스템 간의 주파수 공유 분석 (Frequency Sharing of Cellular TDD-OFDMA Systems beyond 3G with Terrestrial Fixed Systems)

  • 본 논문에서는 TDD-OFDMA (Time Division Duplex-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) 기반의 차세대 셀룰러 이동통신 시스템을 구성하는 다수의 기지국과 이동국으로부터 발생하는 간섭을 계산하여 육상고정 시스템과의 주파수 공유 분석을 수행하였다. 기존의 A-MCL에 제시된 간섭 평가 방법을 TDD-OFDMA 방식으로 동작하는 다수의 이동국과 기지국이 존재하는 간섭 시나리오에 적합하게 확장하였으며, 이를 통해 섹터 당 평균 이동국 수와 기지국 간의 간격 및 육상 고정 시스템 안테나의 주빔 방향에 따른 공유 분석을 수행하였다. 분석 결과를 통해 섹터 당 평균 20명의 사용자를 동시에 서비스하는 경우에 기준 간섭치를 만족하는 기지국간 거리는 5.8km이고 이때 육상 고정 시스템으로부터 가장 인접해 있는 기지국까지의 거리는 2.5km임을 관찰할 수 있었다. 또한 육상 고정 시스템 안테나의 수평 방향에 따른 간섭전력의 변화량은 25dB 정도이며, 약 40 %에 해당하는 방향에서 간섭전력이 최대 허용 간섭전력 보다 작은 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

In vitro and in vivo Biological Responses of Proton Irradiation from MC-50 Cyclotron

  • In this study, we investigated the biological damage and stress responses induced by ion beam (proton beam) irradiation as a basis for the development of protective measures against space radiation. We examined the biological effects of proton beam produced by MC-50 cyclotron at KIRAMS on the cultured cells and mice. The proton beam energy used in this study was 34.9 MeV and the absorption dose rate for cells and mice were $0.509Gy\;sec^{-1}$ and $0.65Gy\;sec^{-1}$, respectively. The cell survival rates measured by plating efficiency showed the different sensitivity and dose-relationship between CHO cells and Balb/3T3 cells. HGPRT gene mutation frequency in Balb/3T3 was $15{\times}10^{-6}Gy^{-1}$, which was similar to the reported value of X-ray. When stress signaling proteins were examined in Balb/3T3 cells, $I{\kappa}B-{\alpha}$ decreased markedly whereas p53, phospho-p53, and Rb increased after proton beam irradiation, which implied that the stress signaling pathways were activated by proton beam irradiation. In addition, cellular senescence was induced in IMR-90 cells. In the experiments with C57BL/6 mouse, the immune cells (white blood cells, lymphocytes) in the peripheral blood were greatly reduced following proton beam irradiation whereas red blood cells and platelets showed relatively little change. These results can be utilized as basic data for studying the biological effects of proton beam using MC-50 cyclotron with respect to proton therapy research as well as space radiation research.
