  • Purpose: This study compares how accurately the specimen produced by the machining method and the rapid prototyping method is produced and how much dimensional error occurs with the finished casting body, and presents the results as experimental comparative data. Methods: Specimens produced using a digital processing method were cast by a conventional dental casting process, and dimensional changes of the finished casting body were measured to compare shrinkage and expansion. Results: In the control group that did not artificially induce large swelling, the dimensional error was the smallest, and the shrinkage and expansion reactions cannot be elimainated in all processes. Conclusion: The shrinkage and expansion depend on the given conditions, so if there is a change in the traditional dental casting process, it is necessary to adjust all the parameters to obtain an accurate casting body.

  • In this study, the castability and of commercially pure titanium(c.p.Ti) grade according to the casting condition which are the vacuum condition in casting machine and mold temperature of investment, was investigated. Argon-arc melt/centrifugal casting machine was used for casting the specimens. The microstructure and mechanical properties were evaluated by using optical microscope. The results were as follows; 1. It could make a sure that there's relatively not much defect of casting body of c.p.Ti according to the deference of air pressure. 2. It could make sure that it formed porosity on the surface inside of the casting body of c.p.Ti according to deferent temperature. and on excellent castability was below $200^{\circ}C$ 3. As the mold temperature of investment was increased, the lamellar structure of phase and coarse grains were shown, especially under 42MPa.

  • Statement of problem : It is difficult to obtain a good titanium casting body using the traditional sprue design because of high melting point of Ti, and the low fluidity and high reactivity of molten Ti. Purpose : A new sprue design for titanium casting bodies needs more trial and error. In order to decrease the number of trial and error, computer simulation(MAGMASOFT, Magmasoft Giessereitechnologie GmbH, Achen, Germany) was used to optimize sprue design in U-shaped implant superstructures. Material and method : Five kinds of sprue were examined for the design of the sprue former for titanium casting: Sprue design A(sprue length 4 mm, rectangular shape, 4 sprues), Sprue design B(sprue length 4 mm. round shape. radius 2 mm, 7 sprues), Sprue design C (sprue length 2 mm, round shape, radius 2 mm, 7 sprues). Sprue design D (sprue length 2 mm, cone shape, large radius 3mm. small radius 2mm, 7 sprues), and Sprue design E( sprue length 2 mm. one unit channel shape). Sprue design F(sprue length 2mm, one unit channel shape) was also examined for the design of the customized sprue former in the Biotan system(Schutz Dental Gmbh, Germany). The casting bodies were taken in Sprue design A, Sprue design D, Sprue design E, and Sprue design F in the Biotan casting system. The numerically predicted defects were compared with the experimental dental castings by the radiographic and sectional view observations. Results : 1. According to the result of computer simulation, turbulence during mold filling was decreased in the sequence of Sprue design F, Sprue design E, Sprue design D, Sprue design C, Sprue design B, and Sprue design A. 2. The calculated solidification time contours indicate that hot spot was moved from the casting body to the sprue button in the sequence of Sprue design A, Sprue design B, Sprue design C, Sprue design D, and Sprue design E. The filling pattern of Sprue design F was similar to that of Sprue design E. 3 The predicted filling pattern shows that less turbulence was found in the customized sprue former than in the standard sprue former. 4. According to the results of the radiographic and cross sectional observations, casting defects less than 1mm were found at the center of a casting body with Sprue design E and Sprue design F. However, larger casting defects of 4mm were found in a casting with Sprue design A. 5. The predicted casting porosity was similar to that of the real casting. Conclusion : One unit channel-type and customized sprue former can be recommended. Further research and developement of various sprue designs using computer simulation in necessary to optimize casting design, in order to reduce the formation of casting defects in implant titanuim super-structures.

  • In the super slow speed die casting process, the casting defects due to melt flow should be controlled in order to obtain sound casting products. The casting defects that are caused by molten metal were cold shut formation, entrapment of air, gas, and inclusion. But the control of casting defects has been based on the experience of the foundry engineers. The calculation of simulation can produce very useful and important results. The calculation data of die casting process condition from the computer simulation by the Z-CAST is made to insure that the liquid metal is injected at the right velocity range and that the filling time is small enough to prevent premature solidification. The parameters of runner shape that affected on the optimized conditions that was calculated with simple equation were investigated. These die casting process control techniques of automobile valve body mid-plate have achieved good agreement with the experimental data of tensile strength, hardness test, and material structure photographies satisfactory results.

  • Purpose: Recently, the production technology of dental prosthesis using 3D Printer workpeices has been developed. However, the lack of information on the work processes and casting techniques of materials for 3D printing casting is expected to require research. Therefore, in this study, we intend to cast a Dental DLP 3D Printer workpiece, which is being commercialized, to identify its appearance and internal clearance, and to observe its castability. Methods: Castability of the 3D Printer workpiece was evaluated. The specimen is prepared in a cylindrical shape and in a 1 mm thick coping shape. The control specimen is made of wax and the experimental specimen is made of resin using two types of 3D printers. After casting, the appearance of the casting body was observed and the internal clearance of the coping was measured. Results: RP1 and RP2, cylindrical specimens, were partially cast or fin. When coping-type specimens were measured before casting, the internal clearance of PE2 was more accurate than that of PC and PE1. When coping-type specimens were measured after casting, CE1 was the most accurate in occlusal clearance and CE2n was the most accurate in axial clearance. Conclusion: 1. Exterior observations of the casting body indicated casting defects and fins. 2. Internal clearance observations show that the occlusal clearance of the castings is larger after casting, and the axial clearance of the castings is smaller after casting. 3. It is judged that the RP2 specimen is more likely to be applied for casting than the RP1 specimen.

  • This experiment was intended to obtain a prefect casting body the same as the original wax patterns by melting metal into the opening of the ring. The investment ring was dried to the temperature between 600 and 700, when the wax pattern would be completely melted to leave an empty mould made in the ring. The main point to studied was the investing process for perfect casting body. This process was experimented on several important factors: the size and spatulation of investment particles, purity of wax patterns, investing time after the completion of model, and investing temperature. The results obtained from the above experiment were as follows: A desirable cast body with no fissure or pore would be mode by investing with smaller particles in the first time and with larger onces in the second, both at the temperature between 180.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to observe the effect of laminate veneer on patient's teeth based on the manufacturing of laminate veneer restorations, which are produced by fabricating a ceramic cast body using IPS Empress, a pressure casting method and then forming the veneer by layering. Subsequently, we assessed the potential of its clinical application. Methods: This study discusses and preserves various treatment plans, such as diagnostic wax-up and treatment room diagnosis, for patients who visit the hospital to improve the appearance of teeth due to diastema of maxillary teeth, inexperienced resin filling, lack of esthetics, and external teeth. A ceramic cast body is constructed using IPS Empress, which is an effective and aesthetic restoration pressure casting method to restore the veneer with a laminate made by layering. Results: Compared with the preoperative state, the frontal view of the patient after the final restoration showed the formation of a natural smile line; the space between the central and lateral incisors was filled in synchronously with the adjacent teeth. In addition, the emergence profile is maintained by reducing the over-contour as much as possible. Conclusion: The patient's quality of life is improved by providing them with a satisfactory natural smile.

  • Freed from its traditional confinement to the human body, postmodernism in fashion exposes the defectiveness of body and abstracts from the body under. As the 20th century art put premium on self-expression, the body itself became a powerful medium of expression in fashion. Using 'body' to analyze the clothing form, my study develops a framework by which to classify the fragmentation of the body in fashion. In order to inquire the formative style and aesthetic values expressed in fragmentation of the body in fashion, my study examines subjects from the discourse on the body to the fashion collections of the late 20th and 21st century, The results of the study are as follows. Fragmentation of the body in fashion means the break away from the idealized and standardized body for mass productions. It tends to experiment with extreme exaggeration in form, refusing to subscribe to the traditional values that build on the balance and symmetry of the body. The formative aspects of fragmentation are achieved through body casting, displacement, and deconstruction. The absence of physicality in fashion opposes the sartorial convention and symbolism that results in the discord between signifiant and $signifi{\tilde{e}}$ of clothing. Fashion continues to explore forms and images that transcend the traditional representations of the clothed body. As a type of intimate architecture, fashion always mediates the dialogue between clothes and body, or fashion and figure. My study suggests a framework to analyze fragmentation of the body in fashion, focusing on the relationship between the clothes and body.
