Objectives: We carried out an observational study of the effects of Nei Guan (P6) and Gong Sun (SP4) acupuncture for the treatment of CINV, preparing for further randomized controlled trial study. This is a case series to explore the changes in the incidence of CINV by acupuncture. Methods: Patients reported a Rhodex index indicating the severity of nausea and vomiting and loss of appetite, before acupuncture, after acupuncture and 1-week follow-up examination. Twelve patients with CINV participated in this study. We included patients receiving chemotherapeutic agents that might induce moderate or severe nausea and vomiting. We conducted 5 treatment sessions with P6 and SP4 acupuncture over the course of 5 days. Results: The median Rhodex score were decreased in 5 patients over time, while we observed loss of appetite of 6 patients were improved over time. During the study, the mean of Rhodex of total patients revealed a decrease of Day 1, Day 7, Day 14; 0.74, 0.68, 0.38, respectively, while the mean of loss of appetite showed a decrease of Day 1, Day 7, Day 14; 5.25, 4.08, 4.00, respectively. Conclusions: The study gives a preliminary data that manual acupuncture of P6 and SP4 may reduce the severity of CINV and loss of appetite, and justifies further study.

Recently digital governor system is commonly adapted for the speed control of the marine diesel engine because of too much fluctuation of rpm resulted by the low speed, long stroke, high efficiency and a small number of cylinder of it, and versatile studies on the development of digital governor system are progressed. On this subject the new control method in which the fuel is controlled by feedforwarding the change of load as well as the feedback of angular velocity in case of disregarding the engine dead time and influence of scavenging air was proposed by the authors, and found the method has shown quite a good control performance in comparision to the conventional control method by the simulation using a digital computer for various load change. In this paper the speed control system of a diesel engine is simulated in case of regarding the engine dead time by the proposed method, and also confirm a good control performance of it under even more realistically simulated environment.

Objectives : The aim of this study is to report the improved case of Wegener's granulomatosis with Oriental-Western Medicine Treatment. Methods : The patient was treated by herbal medicine(Manhyeongja-san, Banhabaekchulchenma-tang, Jaeumgeonbi-tang), acupuncture and moxa constantly. And she was also treated by glucocorticoids treatment and immunosuppressive therapy provided by department of Rheumatology. The otorhinolaryngologic and the ophthalmologic Western medication treatment were also supplied. The information was collected retrospectively. Results & Conclusions : Chronic otitis media of both ear and hearing loss were improved by Oriental-Western medicine treatment. Ophthalmagia was controlled as less. Dizziness and facial palsy were also disappeared. Oriental-Western medicine treatment may be effective on Wegener's granulomatosis patient when pain controling and fast improvement of symptoms are needed.

In this study a MRAC(model reference adaptive control) for fluid power elevator model system was designed. The MRAC was compared with PI control in case of applying to the elevator model system with constant external load and changing external load. In this case external load was produced by a single fluid power cylinder combined with pressure control valve. In conclusion the MRAC control performance was better than PI control performance because overshoot and steady state error of the elevator model system controlled by the MRAC were not appeared for constant and changing external load.

Contemporary Suburban House is a kind of 'Urban House in nature' that urban middle class peoples elect voluntarily to raise life quality and make their own identity. Therefore, 'The Relationship with Nature' is an essential item in the design of Suburban House. But in the site plan of Suburban House, 'The Nature' as outdoor space is only the rest of the indoor space. The outdoor space is hold in common visually but not actually. 'The Nature' is not a labour ground as the case in rural society but a background of village. The plan of Suburban House is based on the urban apartment plan. So in plan, 'The Nature' is also an object for contemplation as the case in urban house. The outline of the plan as a border line between indoor space and outdoor space is controlled uniformally and 'The Nature' is linked only visually in the direction the resident wants to see.

Recently, the speed reducer which is applied to robot has conducted a steady development on developments in the field of robotics. Among them, Harmonic drive is a high-stiffness, precision-controlled speed reducer and has high precision, compact, light in weight and high-reduction-ratio characteristics. The feature of flexspline of Harmonic Drive are two types. One is Cup type, the other is Silk Hat type. Silk Hat type is used in case of lighter and more compact in spatial because Silk Hat Type is hollow. According to the shape of silk hat, diaphragm is fractured because stress is concentrated. In this paper, the various shapes of silk hat are suggested to improve the durability of silk hat. And in the case of each shape, a study on stress and deformation using the FEM tool was carried out on flexspline.

On the basis of theoretical studies on the effect of the cylinders attached to semi-infinite screens, the effect of the tangential sound power-transport along the cylindrical top section of noise barriers is studied. Four types of acoustical mechanism between the surface of the cylinder and the adjacent air particles are investigated, namely Z $\rightarrow$ $\infty$, Z $\rightarrow$ pc, Z $\rightarrow$ 0 and actively controlled surface sound field. In active control case the sound power parallel to the surface of the attached cylinder is minimized by means of a secondary sound field, which is generated from a part of the attached cylinder. In each case the change in the acoustical shadow zone was shown and compared. The numerical study shows the possibility of deflecting the incident sound by minimizing the acoustical surface impedance of the upper sections.

Since the scale of vessels is growing up recently, some troubles between the shaft and after bush bearing are frequently reported. Generally, mean pressure on bush bearing is used as a design criterion. However, in some case of the long bearing such as after bush bearing of the propulsion shaft, it might be liable to be locally under high pressure. As for the main engine bearings and the intermediate shaft bearing, it is reasonable to take the mean pressure as a design criterion. But, in case of after bush bearing, it is not sufficient because of the possibility of high pressure caused by local contact. In this study, Hertzian contact condition was applied to evaluation of the local pressure for after bush bearing. To reduce the local maximum pressure, the height of the after bush bearing was controlled. It was found that local maximum pressure could be reduced effectively by taking a partial slope on the white metal of the aft bush bearing.

Intensive lifestyle modifications and anti-obesity medications are essential for obesity treatment. Antiobesity medications should be selected according to the patient's comorbidities, symptoms, and preferences. This case report describes the treatment of a morbidly obese patient with a history of depression, who complained of tingling and numbness after total thyroidectomy for papillary thyroid cancer. Very low-dose controlled-release phentermine/topiramate was prescribed and intensive lifestyle modifications were encouraged. As a result, the patient effectively lost weight and reached a near-normal weight without adverse drug effects. This implies that even an off-label anti-obesity medication low dose may be better for some patients, and the most important factor in obesity treatment is patient-tailored treatment.

Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy has been investigated to enhance and accelerate the recovery of injured peripheral nerves. Based on the wide range of benefits of PBM therapy and its clinical relevance, this study reviewed the efficacy of PBM in injured facial nerves. The search was performed in the PubMed database to find relevant articles published over the last 10 years. Four animal studies, two randomized controlled studies, one case series, and five case reports were reviewed. Despite the various parameters, functional analysis showed that PBM therapy using near-infrared irradiation has beneficial effects on the recovery of the acute phase of the damaged facial nerve, especially when related to faster functional improvement. There were no reported adverse effects of PBM therapy.
