The purpose of this study is to survey what strategy BACHE, a bathtub manufacturing company, chooses to implement knowledge management. Generally speaking, the success factors of this case company is follow-up management. The first factor is to use linguistic metaphors for employees to understand difficult knowledge management terms easily. The second one is that CEO tries to set and lead pro-knowledge management corporate culture. The third one is based on the CKO's competence to read business circumstances and apply the theory of knowledge management to the workplace. The fourth one has something to do with a way of knowledge creation, for example, a suggestion system and QC circle. The fifth one depends upon CKO's mission to share knowledge invented from his own company's with the rivals and large companies which order bathtubs so that overall bathtub industry can upgrade knowledge management.

In construction industry, management of construction factors such as cost, schedule, quality and safety is the most important key for delivering successful projects. According to the Smart Market Report, a magazine specialized in construction industry, recently said 'Off-site Prefabrication' is a significant trend related with construction productivity in global construction industry. It is a kind of practice shift from On-site to Off-site. A lot of general contractors in oversea have been using 'Multi-trade MEP Ceiling Rack Prefabrication' method for getting benefits such as decreased cost & schedule and increased labor productivity. Thus, in this paper, critical management factors at each phase from design to installation was derived by researching case studies. Forwardly, it can be a basic guideline for applying Multi-trade MEP Ceiling Rack Prefabrication in Korea construction industry.

ERP is a new concept which attempts to combine the applications of BRP and information technology in order to enhance the competitive positions of the firms in a rapidly changing environment. It is expected that a paradigm transition will take place which transforms the current practice of in-house development into the introduction of ERP packages. In response to this trend. ERP introduction strategies need to be investigated. This paper reports the case study of Standard Telecom Co. in successfully implementing Oracle ERP applications package. It describes the background, implementation strategy, project management, benefits, and the critical success factors of the Vanguard Project.

Initial screening is one of the most important and difficult processes in new product development. Many new product screening models have been developed in management and marketing. However practical applications of these models have been limited in part due to their complexity and inflexibility, and in part due to their excessive data requirements. Thus simple judgment models have been popular in practice. However, these models suffer from inaccuracy and inconsistency originating form human cognitive limitations. In light of the problem swith traditional screening methods, we propose a new approach for screening based on managers' past experience and intuitive judgments-screening by analogy, and develop a computerized case-based system for screening new financial service concepts. Using the system, managers can predict the potential performance of a new product concept based on the performance of past products that are similar to it in terms of product characteristics, firm's resources, and market conditions. Based on this prediction, managers make a screening decision.

Construction designs are often produced with insufficient considerations on the constructability aspects. Poor constructability has resulted in delay, cost increase, disputes, safety hazards and inconvenience to the public. Increasingly, there has been a call for more systematic input of construction knowledge in the planning and design processes of modern day's infrastructure development. In some countries, notably the US, the practice of constructability reviews is on the rise, with concomitant benefits. It is advocated that construction plans and designs be subject to constructability reviews as early as possible. It should be made part of the project management strategy driven by the client. This paper outlines the constructability review process and benefits, whilst drawing lessons from a number of case studies.

It is necessary to recognize the urgency and importance of administrative information dataset management and study effective management measures and specific procedures applicable in practice. Particularly, identify dataset records and developing records schedule for records management needs to be presented in detail and specific. This study designed and verified an identification method and appraisal procedure of dataset records in public administrative information systems dataset operating in public institutions. In addition, this study presented the role of the participants including the records center in the appraisal process. Through this, useful implications are derived for the development of specific and practical processes and tools for dataset management in the records center.

This paper is aimed at investigating the factors to grow the new technology based firm(NTBF), K-MAC. NTBFs need an environment in which novelty is encouraged, employees find work meaningful and controllable, learning is incorporated into work, ideas and process improvements are implemented and a balanced focus of the internal and external to the company is fostered. With collaboration between industry and academia, Lynda Aiman-Smith made an instrument of VIQ(Value Innovation Quotient), which is consist of 9 factors, 33 items. VIQ Results can help the company to develop a better understanding of the organization's culture, and its formal subgroups. That is to identify subcultures in the organization, to diagnose potential problems or inhibitors of innovation, to identify organizational strengths for innovation and set a quantitative baseline. Using the VIQ,K-MAC analysed the subculture of innovation potential capability. K-MAC organized the COP(community of practice) with the young employees' participation and try to solve the real problem in the working place. This paper explained the diverse growing trajectory through the TPM concept and suggest for the future strategy.

Medical emergencies are not rare in dental practice but when an emergency does occur it can be life-threatening. Medical emergency such as hypertensive crisis can be encountered in dental practice and the dentist should be competent in emergency management by taking life support courses. This report shows 3 cases of hypertensive crisis during dental treatment and we discuss proper management of the patients. The medical and dental management for the hypertensive crisis included a correct diagnosis, pharmacological usages for pain control and stress relieving environment making.

The purpose of this research was to investigate the factors influencing global expansion/scalability of Kenyan Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Factor analysis and multiple/multivariate regression analysis to determine the functional relationship between independent variables (factors) and the dependent variable was used. The independent variables were: innovation & technology, fitness/appropriateness of management, global marketing strategy; and support environment and the dependent variable, global expansion/scalability. Data was collected from a survey of randomly selected firms of 205, drawn from a population of 440 firms from Kenya Manufacturers Directory, with 175 firms responding. The key findings from the research in relation to Kenyan SMEs were that: there is a functional relationship between global market strategy and global expansion; there is a functional relationship between innovation and technology orientation and global expansion, there is no significant functional relationship between supportive environment of firms and their global expansion; and there is no significant functional relationship between fitness/appropriateness of management and global expansion/scalability. The implications for practice is that the ranking of the factors in order of priority supports focusing concern on the orientation of business strategy toward global market strategy, market research geared at obtaining foreign market intelligence, innovation and technology, product adaptation, service orientation, collaborative ventures, and long-range vision as key factors in making Kenyan firms successful in the international market. The implication for policy and practice is that there is need for collaboration between industry and government in pursuing policies for global expansion/scalability and among SMEs and large enterprises particularly in areas of rapid technological change.

In developing total hospital information system, large amount of time and expense are to be spent while its results are likely to lead itself to end-users' dissatisfaction. Some of the main complaints on the part of end-users come from insufficient consideration of end-users environment as well as inappropriate representation of their requirement in the system alalysis and design. This papre addresses some advantages of Essential Logical Modeling Process for better analysis and design, explaining by example the developmental process of the Patent Management and Accounting System for a tertiary care hospital. In the case, the Essential Model, suggested by McMenamin and Palmer, proved to be an effective tool for clear separation of analysis and design phase and for better communication among system developers and with end-users. The modeling process itself contributed to better program modularity as well, shown in a Structured Chart. Difficulties in learning how to identify' essential activities' for the modeling practice were experienced in the beginnins stage, which were, however, overcome by elaborating some heuristic guideling and by rdferring to necessary tools including State Transition Diagram, Control Flow Diagram, and so many. While full evaluation of the Essential Model usag remains to wait till the completion of the case project, its strengt in making clear distinction between analysis and design phase was enough to be attractive to system analysts. The model concepts are open to many further application fields, particularly such areas as business re engineering, process remodeling, office automation, and organizational restructuring.
