Stabilization control of inverted pendulum by adaptive fuzzy inference technique (적응 퍼지추론 기법에 의한 도립진자의 안정화 제어)

  • In this paper, a hierarchical fuzzy controller for stabilization of the inverted pendulum system is proposed. The facility of this hierarchical fuzzy controller which has a swing-up control mode and a stabilization one, moves a pendulum in an initial natural stable equilibrium point and a cart in arbitrary position to an unstable equilibrium point and a center of rail. Specially, the virtual equilibrium point (.PHI.$_{VEq}$ ) which describes functionally considers the interactive dynamics between a position of cart and a angle of inverted pendulum is introduced. And comparing with the convention optimal controller, the proposed hierarchical fuzzy inference made substantially the inverted pendulum system robust and stable.e.

  • In this paper, we propose a controller for the position of a cart and the angle of a pendulum. To achieve both purposes simultaneously, we divide the system into the dominant subsystem and the dominated one after partial feedback linearization. The proposed controller is composed of a nonlinear controller stabilizing the dominant subsystem and a linear quadratic controller. Using the proposed controller, the controllable region is increased by the nonlinear control part and the control input minimized by the linear control part (LQR).

일상어휘를 기반으로 한 선물 가격 예측모형의 계발

  • 본 논문은 인공신경망과 귀납적 학습방법 등의 인공지능 방법과 선물가격결정에 대한 기존 재무이론을 사용하여 일상어취로 표현되는 파생상품 가격예측 모형을 개발하는데 있다. 모형의 개발은 1단계로 인공신경망이나 기존의 선물가격결정이론(평균보 유비용모형이나 일반균형모형)을 이용하여 선물 가격을 예측한 후, 서로 비교 분석하여 인공신경망 모형의 우수성을 확인하였다. 귀납적 학습방법중 CART 알고리듬을 사용하여 If-Then 규칙을 생성하였다. 특히 실용적 측면에서 선물가격의 일상어휘화를 통한 모형개발을 여러 가지 방법으로 시도하였다. 이러한 선물가격 예측모형의 유용성은 일단 If-Then 규칙으로 표현되어 전문가의 판단에 확실한 이론적인 근거를 제시할 수 있는 장점이 있으며, 특히 의사결정지원시스템으로 활용화 될 경우 매우 유용한 근거자료로 활용될 수 있다. 이러한 선물가격 예측모형의 정확성은 분석표본과 검증표본으로 나누어 검증표본에서 세가지 기본모형(평균보유 비용모형, 일반균형모형, 인공신경망 모형)과 각 모형의 귀납적 학습방법 모형의 다른 3가지 어휘표현방법 3가지를 모형별로 비교 분석하였다. 분석결과 인공신경망모형은 상당한 예측력을 갖고 있는 것으로 판명되었으며, 특히 CART를 기반으로 한 일상어취 기반의 선물가격예측 모형은 예측력이 높은 것으로 나타났다.

A Study on Unbiased Methods in Constructing Classification Trees

  • we propose two methods which separate the variable selection step and the split-point selection step. We call these two algorithms as CHITES method and F&CHITES method. They adapted some of the best characteristics of CART, CHAID, and QUEST. In the first step the variable, which is most significant to predict the target class values, is selected. In the second step, the exhaustive search method is applied to find the splitting point based on the selected variable in the first step. We compared the proposed methods, CART, and QUEST in terms of variable selection bias and power, error rates, and training times. The proposed methods are not only unbiased in the null case, but also powerful for selecting correct variables in non-null cases.

  • Perceptual evaluation of duration models of spoken Korean was carried out based on the Classification and Regression Tree (CART) model for text-to-speech conversion. A reference set of durations was produced by a commercial text-to-speech synthesis system for comparison. The duration model which was built in the previous research (Chung & Huckvale, 2001) was applied to a Korean language speech synthesis diphone database, 'Hanmal (HN 1.0)'. The synthetic speech produced by the CART duration model was preferred in the subjective preference test by a small margin and the synthetic speech from the commercial system was superior in the clarity test. In the course of preparing the experiment, a labeled database of spoken Korean with 670 sentences was constructed. As a result of the experiment, a trained duration model for speech synthesis was obtained. The 'Hanmal' diphone database for Korean speech synthesis was also developed as a by-product of the perceptual evaluation.

  • Finding influential factors from given clustering result is a typical data science problem. Genetic Algorithm based method is proposed to derive influential factors and its performance is compared with two conventional methods, Classification and Regression Tree (CART) and Chi-Squared Automatic Interaction Detection (CHAID), by using Dunn's index measure. To extract the influential factors of preference towards political parties in South Korea, the vote result of $18^{th}$ presidential election and 'Demographic', 'Health and Welfare', 'Economic' and 'Business' related data were used. Based on the analysis, reverse engineering was implemented. Implementation of reverse engineering based approach for influential factor analysis can provide new set of influential variables which can present new insight towards the data mining field.

  • In this paper. a simple high-speed crash test rig for members of vehicle was developed for the improvement of crashworthiness of vehicle's side rail. The cart hanging the specimen is accelerated up to 35 mph by the force of freely dropping weight and 1:3 accelerating pulleys. The cart with shock absorbers travels on the rail roads, so it does not transfer any additional vibration to the specimen. To measure the test results, two types of accelerator are considered. the one is a strain gage type and the other is a piezo type. The test rig is rated good to test the specimen like a side rail of vehicle as developing the vehicle's structures in the early design stage.

  • In this paper, a series of processes to configure a feedback control system by using a PID controller in a programmable logic controller (PLC). The PLC (SIMATIC S7-400) with a PID module (FM455C) is connected by online to an IBM PC with the Windows environment, which serves as a PLC programmer. PID controllers including P/PD/PI controllers have been designed in order to show design procedures, and finally, a PID controller for the plant of cart system. Performances of the control system have been investigated by the MATLAB simulation, the simulation in the PLC programmer. Physical performances have been recorded and examined for the real cart system.
